I went in for a trim and to get my bangs touched up and blended more into the front pieces of my hair. I let the stylist know I was growing out my hair so i was not trying to cut much of it and i was worried about my bangs looking chunky. Instead of blending the bangs into the front pieces of my hair, the stylist went farther back on my head so now the bangs start halfway on the top of my head and there’s a drastic sudden drop off in length. my bangs are now thicker and chunkier than before. it almost looks like a mini mullet. I mentioned to the stylist that it looked like she made my bangs bigger. She was very nice and offered to thin them out some more, but at that point, I didn’t feel comfortable with her cutting off any more of my hair. i’m pretty bummed about how my hair turned out and how long its going to take me to regrow the front top half of my hair. Also I mentioned to the stylist that I rarely put heat on my hair but they still straightened my hair with the temp at 410. Better communication as well as considering client preferences for heat styling, could make a big difference for future clients.

I’ve been to several professional hair stylists over the years, but admittedly am very particular about what I like. Due to not being listened to by past stylists, I resorted to cutting my own hair for nearly 10 years. It’s always been hard for me to trust a new stylist, but I didn’t have that issue with Allie at all. From the moment I sat in her chair at Pera Barber and Salon, I knew I was in good hands. Allie's expertise in natural, lived-in, dimensional color is truly remarkable. She listened attentively to all of my concerns, making sure to tailor her approach to achieve exactly what I wanted. As a model, I need to keep my hair looking natural but polished, and she delivered that perfectly. My cut and color still look amazing even after three months without a touch-up, which is a testament to her talent. The salon itself is stylish, clean, and welcoming, with friendly and professional staff. Allie is clearly an expert in her field—she even educates other stylists! If you're looking for someone who combines skill, attentiveness, and an eye for natural yet elevated color, I can’t recommend Allie enough. She’s truly exceptional, and has earned my full trust and loyalty.

Nicki did a color fix on my hair a few months ago in July, And it faded nicely. It was about 280$ plus 30$ for a hair trim (normally 60$ for a cut but gave me a discount) so it’s on the pricier side but I was really happy with the hair color. The previous place I went to was cheaper but they butchered my hair (Paul Mitchell, one of the teachers was rude to me and didn’t listen to what I wanted and didn’t take constructive criticism well, before yanking on my hair with a blow out brush causing my hair to be rough with split ends). Nicki made me feel beautiful again.

Editing my original review. Have gone twice here. Nikki was my stylist and she's great at her trade. However, she is not punctual at all. Twice now I've had appointments that have been confirmed via text by her with a stated time. But on the day of the appointments, she seems to have it penciled in incorrectly and I've have been given an excuse. First time, I went back because we all make mistakes but to have this be a recurring problem, seems unprofessional and inconsiderate of her clients' time.

FIRST APPOINTMENT With Hagen. Full 5 stars for him. He was kind, patient and gave me the best haircut and beard trim I’ve had in Sacramento. SECOND ATTEMPTED APPOINTMENT Called in for an appointment. It was not Hagen, but another barber. He got my name, set me up for an appointment but said he had some “ground rules” 1) minimum $40 2) wash your hair before coming in for the appointment 3) no cap or anything covering your hair when you come in 4) only cash accepted I said I need to go around trying to find an ATM before the appointment. I got a “that’s fine”. I said I will find another barber. I wonder if he says those rules to ALL his customers. If he does, fair enough. I can respect his other ground rules, but to not have other modes of payment is just more burden on me especially when we have so many modes of payment available today.

I had one of the best hair cutting experience there, Ricky cut my hair and even though I was a walk in and kind of unprepared their hospitality was so welcoming, definitely recommend and going back again.

I regularly get my haircut here by Ricky. He provides exceptional service and is both personal and professional! During my first appointment, Ricky literally studied my head and hair for at least a few minutes before even beginning the haircut to. He truly wants to provide you with the best possible haircut that combines what you want and (if you want it) his professional opinion on what might look best considering your hair and head shape. I am now a regular customer of his and will continue to be indefinitely. If you are looking for an attentive and skilled barber, Ricky is your guy! Considering the services and quality he offers, the prices are extremely competitive as well.

Ricky is a really great barber! Very friendly and was able to advise me on what sort of style would work best. He also gives tips on how to maintain that style in between haircuts. I've gone about 3 times now and have definitely received more compliments on my hair (sorry previous person that cut my hair...). Everyone at Pera is super friendly and overall a lot of good vibes from there. Highly recommended!

SF to Sac seeing Jeralene for years now. And now I'm so proud and excited to be going to her own salon with her husband. They are so welcoming, fun to be around, talented, the ultimate power couple! They have strategically building their A Team. Inside is so clean with comfortable seating. Music is always on point. Their spot it is conveniently located in a plaza that has something for everyone in the family to do. It has lots of parking, next door a kids place to cut hair, Sprouts, Ono Hawaiian BBQ, and more! Every time I see Jeralene, she listens and pays attention to what you want done. She is honest about what works and doesn't which I particularly love. And especially since I could be very indecisive (wanting to do it all), I show up with my random thoughts and just let her do her thang! She's a therapist and a magician! I come out of the salon feeling positive and looking my best!

This place is amazing! Every stylist in here is so welcoming! I came in for a hair conditioning treatment because I feel my hair has been really dry. I was helped by Jaylen, she is so sweet and kind! She also did scalp scrub. I felt so refreshed. She gave me the option to either do a blowout or style my natural waves and I had mentioned I didn’t know how to refresh my natural hair texture. She not only styled my natural hair but showed me techniques on how to do it myself and recommended products I can use to do it at home! Amazing, 10/10. I found my new hair home!
