Well a had a bad experience I took my daughter to the salon to get a haircut We had a gift certificate of $100 from a restaurant to go to that salon I call to make an appointment and I told them that I had a certificate and they said it was ok And the owner told us it was expired …and in the certificate it had no expired date and also she said that she could not get that certificate because she was not 21 to get the certificate so I was really disappointed I didn’t know that she has to be 21 to get a certificate It was really frustrating for both of us I don’t recommend at all…👎👎👎

I saw Anastasia here and LOVED her. I was going THROUGH it and dyed my hair pink on my own a few times and then used a golden blonde box dye. I asked her to try to get me back to a platinum blonde and she took on the challenge without shaming me. She was so much fun to chat with, my hair looks great, and the damage is minimal. Cannot wait to go back!

I got the most amazing cut and color from Anastasia. Prior to her, my hair was looked completely dead and nothing I did made it look better. But now it looks so healthy and the color is amazing, will definitely be back

I had the most wonderful experience at Platinum 34 with Diane and her team . Lydia at reception is a true professional that takes care of all your needs and can Michael wash your hair ! Wow , so relaxing , yet invigorating at the same time . Diane is extreamly talented and knows her kraft well ! No one can Blow dry my hair and make it last way to many days to share !! She can solve all your hair worries and problems in one sitting, but truly makes you want to come back again and again . Great team environment which is not always the case in this industry . Give it a go !

I have been going to Dianne since May 2022, and I can honestly say she is a miracle worker! My hair has transformed so much under her care - it's healthier and fuller than it has ever been. Dianne is not only incredibly skilled but also genuinely cares about her clients and their hair health. I recently visited Platinum 34 Salon with the intention of getting a new cut and color. Dianne, started out by cutting most of my hair off and we discussed a length before she started the color process. I expressed to her that I wanted the gray around my crown to blend in with the rest of my color, however I did not want it to contrast with my highlights. She not only cut my hair 3 inches shorter than we discussed, but she also did not cover the very apparent gray around my crown and roots. I had mentioned to her that I had a very bad experience with 1 hair stylist in Chicago and that this was only the 2nd cut and color that I have had in the city in 3 years. She absolutely did not listen to me as a customer, charged me over $500 and convinced me to purchase $75 worth of products. I, now have to go to a different hair stylist to have them fix my hair. The worst part of all is that she had the audacity to pry into my personal life in a very judgmental manner. This woman is extremely insensitive and I would not recommend her to anyone.

Hands down Dianne is THE best. I went to her desperate with a botched highlight job (that was a twice fix attempt) and she fixed me in one visit and didn’t add to the damage of my hair. She also gave me the best hair cut Ive ever had in my life. I have 3c curls by the way and she didn’t even flinch. Outside of her talent, Dianne is just passionate about her work and does her job with integrity. Do it!!!!!

Owner, Dianne Petersen, and her team are professional and talented, and make their clients feel so welcome. Dianne is very knowledgeable about hair style and so personable too...you will be guaranteed interesting and lively conversations while in the chair. On a recent visit to the salon, I was styled into an elegant wedding guest. Dianne did her magic with my hair and Patricia did my make-up perfectly I could have been more pleased! I had a horrible experience at this salon. They cut half of my hair after SPECIFICALLY asked not to do so. My highlights were green instead of blonde. After spending $500 on partial highlights thats not the service you want to get. After reaching out to the owner and coming to show their disappointing work and how they ruined my hair I was told I am not able to get a refund and basically it’s my problem. They don’t care and of course they never followed up or offered any kind of apology or compensation. The other thing the owner’s reaction to my ruined hair was: “ITS OKAY IT WILL GROW”??? Not recommending to anyone who cares about their hair

This place is top-notch. Diane helped me find the perfect solution to my transition from dark to gray/blonde. I was dying my hair every two weeks to cover very white roots. She brightened me up and now I only need to do minimal maintenance. I feel years younger from my color and cut. She and her team are the best.

I am visiting Chicago and desperately needed a haircut - I was so glad to find Platinum 34 and its owner, Dianne. I got a stellar cut, the best I have had in many years. My husband reacted, "She gave you the perfect cut, it looks amazing, just right for you." Given that I told her that she could do what she thought best, this is an incredible endorsement of the salon and her work, particularly. Everyone showed incredibly warm, friendly service, it was all so appreciated.

I was given a gloss without being asked , which was a little upsetting and then I am pretty sure my highlight was over processed, it’s been 2 months, and my hair has been very dry and brittle. Disappointing.

INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE. I got my haircut done by Dianne. I went in and was greeted by a glass of champagne and the friendliest people. Time did not exists during this haircut, I had such an amazing conversation from start to finish. Michael helped with washing hair and added to the wonderful uplifting vibe. Everything about this experience was so amazing. My hair looked so healthy and shiny when I left I got about 4 compliments just on my way home. Worth the trip for me (I love about 25 min away) and I WILL be back! 10/10
