Amber is absolutely incredible!! She is very welcoming and easy to talk to. My hair turned out better than I could have expected! She’s thorough and detail oriented and it shows in her work. She’s an excellent teacher and incredibly knowledgeable. I couldn’t recommend her enough!

My daughter has been on a 6 month natural hair journey. We have been struggling until today when we met Amber!! She was so informative and taught my daughter what to do to improve the health or her hair. She was great!! We will be back!!

Amber helped me navigate the harsh water in Oklahoma, as well as make some tweaks to my current curl care. I opted for the hands-on experience, which meant she demonstrated how to apply product but also had me put my hands to work! That way when I go back home, I know what to do, how to do it and when. She wrote down all the products she used, and the no-nos. She was knowledgeable about her craft, fun, and patient with my questions debunking some curl myths "Should I brush when wet?" "Does shiny mean healthy?" "Is it better to air dry or diffuse?" etc etc. I got compliments from complete strangers for the week after my cut!

My daughter used this salon and I wished that we had found her years ago. She was gracious and kind to answer all the Momma's questions even though it was my daughter's experience. The curls were beautiful 😍 Her knowledge was appreciated. She was gentle and really was interested in daughter's hair journey. No judgment just advice was given. I really felt her joy in wanting to help. Thank you!!

Amber has completely transformed my hair in ways I had no idea were possible. She understands exactly what I'm asking for and delivers every. single. time. I've been a hairstylist for 8 years and she is, and has been since the first visit, the only person I will let touch my hair. I trust her judgement entirely and she's never let me down. She's also just lovely to be around, bubbly but real and always fun. 1,000% recommend her.

Amber is an artist when it comes to curls. She worked 11 hours on my daughter’s hair and remained focused and so sweet the entire time even though she had to be worn out! She did not cut any corners and the results are amazing! We did the mommy and me session. Amber took her time to teach me EXACTLY what to do. The support and encouragement was everything we need to be successful. And the best part my daughter is IN LOVE with her curls. ❤️❤️ my only regret is not making an appointment sooner!

Cannot say enough amazing things about Poppin’ Curls Salon! Amber took my hair and brought it to LIFE, it’s been 3 months since my curly cut and style learning session and my hair still looks phenomenal. Amber gave me the tools to be able to style my hair and achieve my curl goals! Pics below are of my hair before my cut and style session. And the other two pics are months after with ME styling my own hair. Look at the definition! I wish I could post a video so I can show how much bounce and volume and shine my hair has now. She works on all curly texture and I’ll be suggesting her to everyone I meet with curls

I had my 1st visit on 4/16/24 and it was everything I wanted & needed. Amber is a delight with a gorgeous smile 😃. I so appreciated the hands on instruction as I learn better by doing in addition to seeing. I learned a new way of applying shampoo, conditioner, etc and my wash & go finally looked good. I went to Sam's Club afterwards and an employee told me my curls looked good! I'm looking forward to my hair thriving under Amber's guidance. The written instructions and products purchased will help me to achieve the styles I showed her and I will no longer look like a lost natural hair member. 😆

Amber works her magic and teaches you how to do it too! Visited her with my curly hair about a month ago and she sent me home with so much knowledge and product recommendations suited to me. There was a bit of a learning curve when I got home to do it myself(because I had to unlearn my old habits) but I have now consistently been able to get my curls to be poppin and healthier! Thank you for helping me get better at reading my hair and instilling confidence in my natural hair!

Amber does such an amazing job! We have taken our 14-year-old daughter twice now—we live 3 hrs away, so it has to be worth it to travel that far for a curl specialist. Amber makes it worthwhile. I am so grateful to have found Amber at Poppin Curls! After years of hearing “it’s just trial and error” when looking for advice from other salons or friends with curls, I decided to take a leap and bring my 11 year old daughter for a consultation. I think this was the perfect time for my daughter to have the experience and for us both to get clear direction in helping my daughter’s mixed curls be their best! Amber was friendly, kind and thorough in all the details of our appointment including what tools and products were helpful and how to best handle her curls and dry them. One of the best investments of my time and money! No more “trial and error” and guessing on all the expensive products. My girl was beaming the most radiant smile after her appointment. 😁

I was totally amazed at the knowledge Amber showed. Truly thankful for her attentiveness to my needs and concerns. She took time to explain my hair and how to care for it. She didn’t rush me out the chair she made sure all questions were answered and I fully understood all we discussed. She even too time to write out everything we discussed and gave recommendations. It was an absolutely amazing experience to sit with Amber and have her teach me how to care for and hydrate my curls. I’ve lived with curly hair all of my life and have never had someone as knowledgeable as she is regarding curly hair. It was also my first ever dry cut! My hair was healthy but dehydrated so I dealt with a lot of frizz and limp curls, as well as no definition and uneven patterns. Amber showed me how to best care for that as well as building the best foundation possible for my hair. As I sat in her chair and watched the curls being formed and defined, my thought was, “This hair is gorgeous!” Even natural curls without product was impressive, and I didn’t think that was possible! She takes you through the whole process of a wash/style day. From starting the fire…to a conditioner sandwich… to hands off — a lot of info, but exactly what this girl needed. The only negative thing is that Amber couldn’t come home to stay with me and take care of my hair. She is very knowledgeable, super cute and personable (which is just a plus for a long appointment), and extremely patient, especially with someone who is a total notice in caring for those curls. I highly recommend Amber and Poppin’ Curls for people with all kinds of curls and textures! (Picture to the left is without product; picture to the right is with product)
