Julianna was wonderful! I can tell she takes great pride in her work. I am usually very uncomfortable in salon settings but just her general demeanor was so lovely and really put me at ease. I am absolutely thrilled with my first cut in 8 or so years and just the overall experience I had. As for the service, Julianna cut and styled my hair to bring out the natural curls/waves the best I've seen in 10 years! I love everything about my new cut, seeing the texture come back in one session just sent me over the moon! The vibe at Poppy&Rod is exactly what I didn't know I was looking for. It felt very safe and comfortable. Ownership and staff clearly cultivate a great environment and I love it!

I found this place a year ago when I moved to town. I've been seeing Jess for color regularly. When I started here, my hair was dry and the color wrong for my skin tone. With Jess's guidance and skill, my hair has never been healthier, and I get compliments on my color all the time! The vibe is casual and friendly and inclusive. One million percent recommend.

I’ve been waiting to find a space like this! I usually go to Kayleigh, but in a pinch have seen several of the other stylists and can honestly say I’d be comfortable going to any of them, which is hushed for me (I spent about three years floating between salons after my former stylist moved on after over ten years with my hair!) The salon itself is adorable and clean, and everyone that works there is talented and knowledgeable. I’ve even started taking my family there!

Can't recommend this place highly enough. When I moved to town, I searched high and low for a stylist who could handle my extremely thick wavy hair, and was so grateful to finally find Kayleigh and her team. She has a gift for finding the right style and shape for my face and hair texture, and is generally a delight to spend time with. She has done my hair for several years now and every experience -- from trims, to dramatic cuts, to coloring, to event styling -- has been exceptional. Go see Kayleigh, you won't regret it!

Hands down best salon I have ever been to. I have been to Z Salon. Joseph’s salon. This salon blows them out of the water. The vibe is so pleasant, staff incredible. Steven is amazing and talented artist. He completely transformed my hair. Someone else cut my hair before I went here and messed it up ; they got me in and he did an amazing job. It’s so welcoming when you walk in. All the stylists are amazing and talented. Go check it out! Steven is awesome! Book your appointment with him. I am going back to get my hair colored and canceling with the other salons and will be coming here from now on!!! You will be in good hands with anyone at this salon! So friendly and outgoing people here! 🤩

I have been looking for a long time to find a salon that I felt truly comfortable in. I was with the same stylist for 10 years and after she left the city, I floated for about 3 years from place to place and finally I found Poppy and Rod. I usually get my hair done by Kayleigh, though in a pinch I have visited other stylists, and I have to save that everyone there is knowledgeable, friendly, and truly talented. The space itself is cute and inviting. I’ve even started taking my husband and sons here! Would recommend to anyone.

I love going to see Erin, I always leave the salon looking fantastic! and everyone else I see leave the salon look amazing! All the stylists there are so nice, and the salon is beautiful. I love having fantasy colors and Erin has always done such a wonderful job! I wanted a very layered hair cut but I wanted to keep my long hair, it's almost down to my waist, everyone has told me that was not possible. Not Erin, she said "got it!" and then did it. I can't stop raving about how I look. The only problem I have with the Salon is I have yet to meet their Salon Floor Manager, Blanche. I guess that is probably a good thing, I love dogs and would have a hard time focusing on my hair with a pretty puppy running around. In all seriousness, I have gone 3 times, twice to get color and a separate time to get my hair cut. I have made appointments for both my boys (7 years old and 14 years old) to get hair cuts and for my oldest to get some fun colors. I could not be happier and can not stop recommending Poppy and Rod to my friends. Just remember, you get what you pay for and I am happy I spent every penny! The pictures in the purple shirt was from my first color and the pictures in the Poppy and Rod cape and the blue shirt are from this last visit. Thank you Erin!

I've had a number of cuts from Kayleigh at this point, and each time somehow gets better than the last. Everyone at the parlour is so friendly from the moment you walk in. Everyone in our family has gone now and we can't recommend them enough!

I searched high and low to find a good fit in a salon. When multiple people suggested Poppy & Rod I had to give it a try. Kayleigh, the owner, has always been kind, thoughtful & absolutely amazing at her craft. I have also had Hannah do my color & cut multiple times and I cannot say enough good things about her talent. It is an absolutely gorgeous, inclusive & welcoming space. If I could give it a million stars- I would.

I've been a client at Kayleigh's salon for many years, I'm probably one of the OG's :) She and her entire team is absolutely amazing, I would not go anywhere else or trust anyone else with my hair. She is very creative, talented and just a great person all around. I even question myself: did I get a hairdo that requires me to go frequently only because I like hanging out in her salon with her crew so much... we'll never know...

I've had cuts and color with three different stylists here over the years. It's amazing that they're all SO GOOD that you can swap stylists if there is a scheduling conflict. That is rare. The owner Kayleigh has put significant thought into making the salon a safe space for all and choosing the perfect employees to support that culture. This is a Louisville gem. If I had to move away I'd travel back just for them <3

Poppy & Rod is my happy place. Everyone who works at the salon is so kind and welcoming. When I couldn’t see my normal stylist, whoever I saw instead was just as amazing and did a wonderful job. Every stylist here is so talented. I have been seeing Kayleigh for over 3 years now and I am not exaggerating when I say I would trust her with my life. Once I got engaged, I really wanted my hair as blonde as possible without damaging my hair. It was truly a trust the process thing, but Kayleigh had a plan and in the end, my hair was PERFECT! When I first started seeing her, my hair was so damaged and over-processed. My hair is extremely healthy and has grown so long. I love Poppy & Rod!

The best salon I’ve ever been to. I always forget how to explain how I like my haircut, but they keep a record and photos of how you prefer it cut that make it effortless to go in. Like a doctor at a checkup, they already know what happened last time and what to do this time. And the scalp massage with every shampoo is a nice bonus.

When I arrived I was immediately greeted and welcomed at check-in. The shop is very spacious, very clean, and calming. My appointment was with Kayleigh who's space was accommodating. Her friendly personality and professionalism made the whole process a breeze. The actual hair cut was fire too. Everyone should book an appointment!
