Amy and I restarted my nail growth journey in June because I had broken a few nails (being too rough with my hands) and wanted to start over. Fast forward to now, September, and my NATURAL nails are as long as extensions!! They are long, beautiful, healthy and I would not have it any other way. I always struggled to get my nails to this length before Amy, but I can always count on her to help me get here and retain this length. I always get compliments on the quality of my manicures and I have her to thank :) UPDATE: it’s December now and my natural nails are long enough to be almond shaped! No extensions needed.

I hadn't been to Powder since the pandemic but am SO happy I came back. The new owner has continued with the spirit and exceptional customer service that I've always loved about Powder, while evolving the business to keep the business relevant with the latest nail trends and colors. The location in the Row is easy to get to and find more to discover. I started going bqck last month and am definitely a regular again!

I've had multiple nail technicians and I have a plesant experience every time. They're thorough, have great attention to detail and clearly enjoy the with they do. Since my first appointment with Amy, this has become my regular nail salon. They truly care about the quality of your nails!

I was very excited to try this place because it is close to where I live and they have great reviews but I left really disappointed. I got a dip manicure and it ended up looking so messy. There was cured dip powder all over my fingers and under my nails. I spent a lot of time that night trying to clean it all up. I also watched her notice a few imperfections and instead of fixing them she just left them. The tips weren’t all filed evenly so I also had to spend some time at home evening them out because they looked like there was chips taken out. I’ve gotten plenty of dip manicures so I know how it’s supposed to look in the end. Overall my nails look just okay which is not what I want when spending $65 plus a tip.

This mani pedi was so needed. The salon is very clean, comfortable, and cute to boot! The attention to detail was wonderful! The staff are the nicest people EVER. I had some amazing massages on both my hands and feet. They were also consistently checking in on how I was doing. Enough where I felt important but not too much where it was too much- it was just right! Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to Powder for years (since it was in Hancock Park on La Brea). I have ALWAYS loved this place! I took a break from going for about a year and half due to lifestyle changes but I recently decided to go back and I am soooo glad I did! They are the only place in LA that I know of that does PROPER POWDER services. Meaning NO drills used. I only go to appointment -only nail places because I like to feel like I’m being serviced without being rushed. Amy was my nail tech and did an amazing job! I especially enjoy going on Sundays so I can enjoy smorgasburg. This place is a 10 out of 10

I’ve spent a long time trying to find a nail salon in LA that knows how to do nails while also keeping them healthy. Powder Beauty does just that! They color options are HUGE and the staff is so nice! You actually get to enjoy the experience.

I really enjoyed my first time here getting a pedicure by Patricia. The french tip came out so well and she gave me the BEST foot massage. The salon itself is also very nice and comfortable as well. Highly recommend 10/10

It's the best LA nail shop I've ever been to. I always designate Patricia. She's meticulous and friendly. The parking is convenient and the shop is pleasant. Highly recommend!!!!!!!

I’ve been going to Powder Beauty for a few years now and it is truly my go-to nail salon in LA. The location is convenient, ambiance is great and the staff are always friendly and do an excellent job. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Powder Beauty for a year and they are fantastic! I drive to DTLA from Santa Monica and it’s worth it. The staff is friendly and professional and the salon is clean and a calming atmosphere. Kelly is amazing - she is meticulous and pays attention to every detail, and my nails always look great. I love that they have Dip Powder without the UV light - and so many colors to choose from. Highly recommend this place for top-notch nail care!

Amy is the best nail tech because she cares about the smallest details. I’ll continue to drive 2 hours to see her every month. She also did my very first lash extension to get me ready for my wedding day. I couldn’t have asked for a better job!

PBC has been my go to nail salon ever since I moved to LA. When doing my research, I found that it is one of the few salons who do rubber base manicures (and Russian manicures!) I always go to Amy and they always turn out perfectly and lasts for 4+ weeks! I will get a pedicure every other month as well and they turn out perfectly. Re: Location/Parking: I also love that it's located in the Row DTLA with plenty of parking (which is validated). Takes the stress out of finding street parking, etc. It's on the pricier side but I think it's worth every penny, especially since it's high quality and lasts 4 weeks (whereas other salons I'd have to go every 2-3 weeks).

update: the salon responded to my review saying they couldn’t find my info so i forwarded my original e-mail from my experience to the contact on the website. i got a response saying the business ownership has changed and i’d receive a follow up from the original owner. i never did… original review: I wanted to love my pedicure here in April but unfortunately left with nails so short they were sore for over a week, nicks on my cuticles, gel polish applied sloppily, and a part of the service was missed. I work in a salon and witness/receive regular pedicures and after reading Powder’s reviews I was confident my experience would be comparable to the ones I have but it was not. I emailed Powder within a few days in regards to this as I hoped to address it privately before leaving a public review. I also asked a question about their pedi bowl sanitization - the liners they use in them made me wonder the thoroughness. I never got a response and it was disheartening. I would have loved to leave a better review but the experience itself and lack of communication from the salon afterwards had me uncomfortable and regretting booking. This was supposed to be a treat for me while on vacation and it ended up leaving me sore, self-conscious and out a fair amount of money.

First of all, I deeply love the shopping environment of Row DTLA, it is quiet and spacious. Secondly, I am very satisfied with Powder Beauty’s attentive service. Every time staff will carefully ask my requests, patiently help me remove dead skin, and pull out the nails embedded in the flesh. I often bite my nails crazily while writing research papers, and the staff will share with me some Organic ways to release my pressure. I will definitely try different styles later when I have more time. Thanks for all the nail tech here. ♥️

I had a "rubber" manicure. Within a day, my middle was off and the other middle and index fingers were chipped. And the owner used a drill to remove my gel manicure during my appointment! She insisted, even after I begged her not to use it. I felt uncomfortable, but was unable to cancel the pedicure. She charged for everything, including $8 to make a tiny glue fix to my broken nail. Never step foot in this place.

Rooted for and supported this space for years and sadly there is not enough accountability for constant nail chips and mess-ups. Service lasts 1day to 1.5 weeks max rather than the ideal 2+ weeks. Disrespect of resources, time, commute, and energy. Money seems to be prioritized over client retention. The nail techs and staff are very nice and kind and their offerings have a lot of potential. I hope they make progress. I no longer stand by recommending this business.

So glad that PBC offers nice eyelash extension services. The eyelash aesthetician took her time and was really careful to do it. I didn’t feel any burning during my services and actually this is not the first time I do my eyelashes here, they stay for a long time and nice quality eyelashes. I am really happy with them, and will definitely come back soon!!! PBC is the best!!!!
