I found myself calling a dozen salons on Saturday morning after committing a crime against my own hair and using some crappy Loreal silver dye at home that turned my roots coppery and the rest a weird patchy blue. The ONLY place that was able to squeeze me in was Power Hair and Chantel basically saved my life because I AM dramatic and I WAS going to euthanize myself rather than show myself in public with my orange blue chaos. Chantel is really good at what she does – she expertly fixed my hair and turned it the light silvery color I wanted. She didn't rush and she didn't make me feel embarrassed. She's really down to earth and fun to gab with on top of being a pro. 10/10 recommend her for any color needs – emergency or not!

I came here because I was in the area. They were very accommodating. I got the absolute perfect haircut. It was exactly what I was looking for. I would absolutely travel an hour and a half to come back. And now, I get to shake my pixie mullet all over Brooklyn and the surrounding boroughs with confidence. Thank you Power Hair. ❤️

Literally the best salon I’ve ever been to. Amanda is a true artist- my hair is a work of art every time I see her. I get compliments all the time on it and I can’t recommend her enough!

What a great experience. 🥹 I’m traumatized by salons and so glad I was recommended this one. Emily is an absolute angel with the most gentle touch and attention to detail. Really know what she’s doing and my extremely curly hair is not easy to blow out. not only did she make sure to get the perfect color but she made sure ask me every step of the way if I like it so she can tweak it darker or lighter. So attentive and lovely. Queen! Also it’s so pretty here and they have a cute little doggy! worth the price. Will come again.

Was looking to kind of “level up” my tired long curls, and couldn’t have been happier. Maddi was great and listened to what I was hoping for (even though I didn’t have a photo) and I had an efficient and delicious cut. Love it! Also I love how non-gendered and open the salon is. Excellent care, knowledge, and experience.

I am so pleased! I went to Chantel for a partial highlight and she did an amazing job. She managed to achieve a color that was somehow both warm and ashy at the same time -- I am thrilled. Definitely go to Chantel for all your color needs!

i had one of the best haircut experiences here with michelle - she listened to everything i was asking for, was super accommodating, even squeezed me into her schedule for adjustments, and ultimately provided one of my favorite haircuts i've ever gotten! highly recommend her for anyone with very specific details for a haircut.

I absolutely loved having my hair done by Amanda when I lived in NY. She took such care to give me a natural looking red and her cuts were amazing too. When I left NY it took me a while to find someone else I trusted to do my hair like she did. Her space is also always pristine and relaxing and creative. Best service!

I have been a client of Amanda’s at Powerhair BK for over 10 years. I have gotten everything from highlights, balayage, to fantasy color from her and she gives me the best color and cut every single time! She even styled my hair for my wedding and made me feel my most beautiful self. I cannot recommend this salon and her enough to my friends and family. Absolutely book your next salon appointment with her or any of her staff. They are all fabulous.

I have been seeing Amanda for years since her days in the East Village, and I followed her journey as she opened her own salon in Bushwick. What she does to my hair is nothing short of amazing. She makes me look like a natural redhead with perfect golden highlights to compliment. I get compliments on my color all the time and everyone thinks its my natural color. The salon itself is beautiful. The perfect environment to relax and pamper yourself. I have seen the work of the other stylists as well and it is excellent. If you are looking for an amazing salon in Bushwick this is it!

Power Hair has been my go-to for the past 10 years. Amanda and the talented staff have created a self-care experience that is the most curteous, professional, adventurous and supportive I've ever had in NYC. I feel like I'm in the most skilled hands because I'm always encouraged to ask as many questions as I have and to have an open dialogue about the cut/color we've researched. Most importantly, I always walk away feeling like i got the best haircut of my life. 10/10.

I am sooo happy to have found Power Hair one year ago! Amanda has worked her magic on my hair from fun colors like pink/peach in the summer to bright blonde along with cuts (which btw are just as precise as her color - I can finally have it all done at one place!!) 💇‍♀️ She takes the time to listen and is very detailed when it comes to her work. I always feel safe and welcomed when coming in as the atmosphere is always warm and inviting 🌸 I never feel like just another client. my hair haven 💜💜

LOVE Power Hair. I'm so happy to have finally found a wonderful salon in my neighborhood. I had a cut by Anna and color done by Blake. I can't recommend both of them enough. They were so professional and walked me through what they were doing why, they listened to what I wanted, but also gave me their professional advice on what would work best regarding both the cut and color. I had about 8 inches cut off and was in desperate need of a color so it was a pretty big change, but I couldn't be happier.
