I haven't been to the salon in months but it was the best experience I've had at any Salon in LA. Everyone was so kind and my stylist was so gentle with my hair. This salon is worth the visit.

I returned to my favorite salon after the summer break. I received the Healthy Press & Curl plus a Healthy Hair Trim. Excellent service from stylist Micha B as usual!!! The staff are the best!

This place is seriously amazing! My stylist Jenean was super sweet and welcoming and made my first salon experience perfect! Whenever I need to come get my hair done, it’ll be here! 10/10 recommend for all my curly girls looking for a Black Owned business!

i went for the first time back in september to finally get a professional trim and it’s the best thing i could’ve done for my hair going forward. i booked with micha b. and i love that she asks you questions about your hair and briefly explains each process she does. fast forward to almost two weeks ago, i came again because it’s been a while since i had my last trim and wow, i finally have a salon and a stylist that i can count on to have healthy hair. i always book the signature healthy press and curl + trim and it’s so amazing, relaxing and efficient. i had work right after my appointment and my hair was bouncing all the way while walking to work, and i wasn’t late! lol. i highly recommend micha, it’s within walking distance of my apartment and job and the price is something i am always willing to pay! i think i will start to go every 2-3 months to keep up with my trims. i tried the 6 months thing but my hair doesn’t like it. my ends looks like forks by that time. lol. she expresses that “she’s a trimmer not a cutter” when starting your trim and i just love that phrase. sorry, it’s long. lol. last night i used all the products micha uses on my hair(purchased from the salon) and straightened my hair. it is so soft and smells so nice! each process was a breeze for my curls and i can tell using these products overtime will strengthen my hair with all the heat styling i am choosing to do atm. no heat damage from my visits with her. curls still pop! book with micha b. and you will not be disappointed. great conversations and her aura is beautiful. ✨

Got a next-day appointment for healthy hair trim and it went perfectly! The stylists were friendly, professional, and I got exactly what I wanted (a trim and a wash) for $25 plus tip. I was seated basically upon arrival and only had to wait a few minutes for a stylist. would recommend to any curly girls looking for an easy trim

I've been going for over a year. stylists are so kind and friendly and well versed in natural hair care! service is quick. i walk in and get right into a chair. prices are great for salon to be downtown l.a. they sanitize between each customer. when you book appt online you can pay for service as well so, just carry cash for tipping. i recommend this salon.

Micha is the best. She did what no stylist has ever asked me before: she said "tell me about your hair." I was shocked because I've gotten my hair done thousands of times at salons but no stylist has ever asked me that. I appreciated that. It showed me that she didn't just care about providing the service but that she cared about the health of my hair. She gets 100 ⭐⭐⭐s.

Never hire this salon for wedding services. As soon as you say the word “wedding” the SCAM begins with a church song playing & smile, you will be told the VIP treatment they offer their brides and wedding party, all for it to end up with one big excuse for not delivering what was promised AND the extreme money grab. You’ll be quoted a price but the price will change significantly. You try to support black businesses, but unfortunately you’re left with feeling as though you should’ve booked with a real celebrity stylist at a professional salon — not a start up. This review will be updated in length. I just needed to warn any bride that if you want to have a stress-free day on your wedding day, this is NOT the place to book yourself nor your wedding party.

Our law offices had a recent client that was treated negligently by a stylist at this location named Jenean Carter for verbally berating her. It’s clear that this also happened to another previous customer. Please refrain from using this salon and please search for others.

Severe heat damage!!! Got my hair done by Jenean for my bday. Had a burnt smell lingering many days after my appointment which threw up red flags. When wash day came along I saw the extent of trauma done to my hair. Which resulted in me cutting off a lot of the straight pieces. So disappointed and upset because my hair hasn't been this damaged since high school a whole 11 years ago... #RIPCurls you will be missed!

I waited outside in the sun for an appointment that began TWO HOURS LATE and left with a large BURN SCAR on my neck that still stings until this day (see photo). I was also wildly OVERCHARGED for services (based on the salon's published prices). The service I received at this salon was the most unprofessional beauty experience in my life. I rarely leave reviews, but the negligent and irresponsible behavior of stylist, Jeanne, and the added lack of apology or intercession from co-owner, Micha (which can only lead me to believe she endorses this behavior), is beyond egregious to let alone. Finally, this salon does not adhere to COVID-19 policy and is unsafe, especially if one is at-risk. When I made my appointment with Micha, she said that the salon adheres to state COVID-19 policy and only allows one client at a time. I arrived at my 2pm appointment and was told by Jeanne that she was running behind and needed until 2:30. I texted "OK" and let her know I would stand outside until she let me know that it was safe to come inside. After waiting an hour, I texted Jeanne to ask about status, no reply. At the 90 minute mark, I texted Micha to see if she could reach Jeanne, no reply. Finally at the TWO HOUR mark, I began receiving an onslaught of aggressive texts from Jeannie saying I could have come inside when I arrived. Wait, huh? These texts confused me since Micha informed me that the salon policy was one client at a time (why would I barge in on another client?) and also if that was the case, why is Jeannie availing me with this information TWO hours later? She then called me and began yelling that "I can't control if a client comes in with a matted weave!!" Adding, "the goal is one client at a time, but that's not the standard!" Capping it off with, "I didn't know two hours had passed, I forgot about you, I was focused on my work, ok!?" I asked her why on earth she was taking out these frustrations on me - a NEW client, who had been waiting patiently for her outside. Her talk became increasingly nonsensical - very defensive and offered no apology or accountability for her behavior. I had no interest in going back and forth - and decided to end this line of conversation. I asked her where exactly the entrance to the salon was (b/c the uber had dropped me on an opposite corner with scaffolding) so we could begin the appointment. I just wanted to get my hair done and end this nightmare. Well I wish it had ended there, but the appointment itself was terrible. She blasted music at the highest volume (I could not understand her when she spoke) and danced around with a hot comb in her hand. When she burned my neck with the comb, she said "oops sorry oops." and showed no genuine concern. She allowed another client into the salon during my appointment time, and this client often had her mask down - I never once heard Jeanne ask her to cover her face. Jeannie's work is mediocre in my opinion and not worth the stress and injury that I endured. It's 48 hours later and it's back to looking like something I could have done at home. With all of the lack of consideration and injury she caused me, she still had the audacity to overcharge me for services (the styleseat site says the service is $100 for 120 minutes and she charged me $125 for 80 minutes - a rushed job). I do not recommend this salon at all.

Micha Brown and Jenean! are so wonderful I recommend all hair types to press and curls! My experience here was memorable. Everywhere I go people ask me ”who did your hair?” PERSS AND CRULS!
