Asked if they could do a particular style and of course as usual they say yes but then do not deliver. Paid $180 to just sit in a chair basically. Hair stylists and beauticians always tell you to speak up if you don’t like something but then when you do they seem bothered. I usually don’t leave reviews but it’s becoming frustrating how expensive things are today and everyone wants your money but do not want to deliver good or proper service !!!

I got smedium boho braids, shoulder length. the hair stylist seemed to have terrible attitude and got annoyed when discussing my style choice. they provide the hair but if you do boho, you must buy the human hair yourself. style didn’t come out the way I described but what’s done is done ig. roaches everywhere and stylist was rough when turning my head (pushed my arms off the chair etc.) and they def talk abt you in their language lmao. good thing I understand some french.

The best hair braiding in Brooklyn. My braider is named Coumba, and she never lets me down. The staff is professional, and the location is accessible and clean ! I love it here and always get my hair braided when needed.

0/10 I DO NOT RECOMMEND AND IM REALLY DISAPPOINTED AT THE WAY THEY CONDUCT BUSINESS!! $140 down the drain. If I can give this place 0 stars I would. The lady braided my cornrows SOOOO TIGHT, she literally braided my tiniest baby hairs and thoughts 🙄 even after I told her to loosen them time and time again while she was braiding. My hair follicles were so swollen and I started developing little bumps around my hairline. I literally couldn’t sleep for 2 days. I took extra strength Tylenol and that didn’t even help. I did everything in my power to loosen them up, I used leave-in conditioner and ran them under warm water. After 2 days, I couldn’t bear the pain any longer so I took them out. I lost my edges, and a lot of hair. She also ripped some of my hair strands (pictured below). As she was cutting along the braid, I told her that she may cut my hair because it’s long and she was going way too high on the braid. She assured me that she wouldn’t…. But she did!!! I have had my hair braided many times and this is hands down the WORST BRAIDING EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!! My scalp was tender for a week even after removing the braids. It was pure torture. When I called them to do something about it they told me that the owner was not working and they couldn’t do anything for me until she gave them the OK. I called the owner multiple times but she ignored me all day. The next day, she was back in the salon and I was able to speak to her but she said she couldn’t do anything for me and shes sorry “if I feel that way” she refused to give me a refund (not even partially) and said next time I come in she will give me a PARTIAL discount. I don’t know why she thinks I’d ever come back here.

I’ve been coming here for more than 5years also have referred several costumers to this location because the owner appears to be running a semi professional shop. All it took was for 1 lady to make me question if I will remain a customer because of her jealousy & lack of professionalism. Although I had the owner refund my money and my regular lady that does my hair felt so bad and is very nice . However I’m honestly ready pursue a lawsuit for the damages she done to my hair Racky the owner must do better with who she allows to work in her hair shop Sept. 2024

I got my hair done today and I’m am mad. This was my second time here the first time was great they work quickly. This time the hair styles was horrible. The first picture the hair was not even braided and was ready to falling out. The Second picture the hair stuck to my clothes like Velcro. The Third picture the woman doing my hair used a razor to separate the black from the color. Leaving the black sticking out of all the braids all together. Someone need to redo my hair or give me my money back this is very unprofessional. And the woman acted like she didn’t care. I was be reaching out to the owner tomorrow to fix this.

Terrible experience. Quoted a price over the phone given another one in the store. They don’t care about your real hair so they are going to rip through it and braid too tight. I got knotless and they also left out my real hair. Currently trying to get a refund.

UPDATE - 8/27 Changing to 4 stars and here is why. The ladies at the shop are always so kind and are quick. I've gotten my hair braided here about 4 times and always get the exact same thing. My most recent visit once my braider finished, they asked if I knew the price and I said yes (since I always get the same thing). The owner came by giving me a different price (30 dollars more) and claimed it has always been the price. What I didn't like nor respect is that she got loud with me. I then proceeded to show her past receipts/transfer of me sending her a different price. She gaslit me, lol. I showed her pictures of what I got in the past - dated pictures - it was the exact same thing. She still gaslit me saying they never charged the lesser amount. Eventually she said, "fine you can pay that price." I told her, no, I can pay the new price, that's not the point. If the price went up - JUST SAY THAT. But don't sit there and lie in my face and get loud with me esp after showing receipts. I understand that inflation is real, honey. OLD REVIEW: I brought my own braiding hair and arrived at around 8:45 AM on a Friday morning, was sat by 9:15 AM. My braider was so sweet and adorable, she didn't speak much English. She took a break to eat after about an hour in but I walked out the salon happy with my hair by around 3 PM. I would come here again - I would recommend coming early though.

I recently went to this hair shop and had a mixed experience. They quoted me one price when I got there but as soon as they started braiding the price went up. I told them exactly what size I wanted and even showed them pictures but they didn’t do what I asked for. It also seemed like they cared more about getting lots of customers in and out quickly rather than focusing on quality. Prices are reasonable overall but you definitely get what you pay for. Some Instagram hairstylists do a way better job with the newer trendy styles. I just wish they had been honest about the price from the start and made me feel more welcome. Oh yeah and they definitely talk about customers in their language.

this shop seems like a hit or miss. My first time going for knotless boho braids. I brought my own human hair. However only one braider was able to braid with this. I showed her exactly what I wanted my hair to look like, more fullness almost like a sew in or tree braids - but I def did not get that, despite bringing 4 bundles of hair (which was overkill enough for the look I asked for) Hair is very much more braids than hair out. I’m also finding a lot of braids that weren’t sealed all the way so when I brushed the hair some of the boho curls came out already. I just got my hair done not even 6 hours ago. Lss - if you want the modern sew in style like knotless braids - this isn’t your spot nor if you are looking to utilize human hair. They seem to be on a time frame to get everyone in and out as fast as possible so if it’s something basic they can do, but anything out of the ordinary - go to someone some where else. Prices are better here than other spots but you def get what you pay for. Would only go here if you want the Facebook synthetic braid BRAIDS knotless braids. 2 stars because they were nice and quick. & the other styles I saw while they’re done were neat and look good. Just wasn’t satisfied MY look. See below: (what I asked for vs what I got)

Horrible. They act like they only specialize in knotless braids. Any other style is a disaster. I asked for small box braids , which I have had done plenty of times ( not at this shop) , instead I got a thousand thick , heavy, medium boxbraids. Braids heavy AF. Cant even put the braids in a ponytail. Just heavy & tight. Worst job ever. Whats so hard to understand slim, small box braids? Im starting to take some out today b/c I literally hate it. Only came here b/c location. I will start going back to Harlem from now on.

i didn’t come early enough so it was about an 1hr wait given the amount of ppl waiting but other than that i don’t have any complaints. Labuda did my hair, small box braids and did a great job. towards the end there were three women doing my hair at once, everyone seemed nice and it was a fairly calm atmosphere. i’ll likely be coming back

i made an appointment for 715 and confirmed the night before. waited an hour and no one arrived to start my hair. i asked again and they told me she was on her way and could be there at 10am. braids could’ve been great but i couldn’t wait 3 hours to find out.

I HAD TO TELL THE LADY HOW TO PART MY NIECE HAIR,HOW TO BRAID HER HAIR, HAD TO GO BEHIND HER AND CUT MY OWN NIECE HAIRS. THE PARTD ARE STILL NOT CORRECT! POOR LADY DAUGHTER WAS THE 1ST PERSON IN THE CHAIR AT 8:30 AM AND AT 4PM STILL NOT FINISHED !!! DO NOT GO HERE IT IS JUST THE TIKTOK HYPE! I can’t stress this enough take your own branding hair they use the cheapest hair at the shortest length and complain to use longer lengths work is 7/10 but after a week the ends are looking ver sad and skimpy

Do not come here expecting to get hair washed! She did a terrible job and tangled my hair so bad. Braids are mid tbh. Did knotless boho and the curly pieces are already frizzy. Literally left w it frizzy. Asked for medium she gave me all different sizes. Oh and charged me 220 for waist length!! Other shops charging 200 for butt length. Do what you want with that information!

I came in and asked for jumbo knotless braids, 12-13. The stylist decided my hair “would not do that” did large instead. when I noticed that it was not what I wanted the stylist argued with me to take it out. They Will do what they want and blame your hair on the outcome. Do not reccomend.

I have been going there for over a yr now never left with a bad hair style. Everyone is accommodating, I always enjoy getting my hair done by anyone of the ladies. I love it when they take their time to do the art form called braiding. It’s a labor of love, I’ve never waited long to be seen. Love the owner and the staff. If I could give 10 stars I would.

I’m from Virginia and came to NY for my son birthday and needed my hair done. I highly recommend this place 1000/1000! They braid fast and definitely believes in team work! My braids are not too tight and their prices are reasonable!
