Suzanne is super experienced and talented. I wish I had taken before photos of what was a color disaster (orange roots from box dye in contrast with super ashy platinum ends with pink tint). She was able to squeeze me in last minute on a Saturday and gave me luscious, soft, ashy platinum blonde all over. She didn’t rush the process and gave the toner exactly as much time as it needed to achieve a beautiful, uniform tone. The addition of Olaplex made my hair look and feel healthy and soft (it was brittle and dry before). Reasonably priced for the high quality of service. If I lived in Portland I would be a Suzanne devotee.

Susan is amazing, I can’t believe it took me this long to find her! I had so many salon mess my hair up to where I had to cut off 30-40 inches of hair. I lost about 10 years of length because people didn’t know how to use bleach properly? Pulse salon is your solution for every need and with her experience in the industry she is the best for the quality of work provided. Customer for life!

You might be able to find talent here, but my advice would be to avoid the owner. She not only charged me the full price of a cut just to trim my daughter's bangs, she also abandoned me for some length of time in the middle of my appointment to conduct a staff meeting. Unfair and unprofessional.

After giving this salon a second chance and MORE MONEY, I decided to leave the review I felt was deserved to begin with. First visit... I saw Courtney and I requested my roots get lightened in addition to adding a CHERRY BOMB RED overall color. I decided to treat myself for my 40th birthday photoshoot/vacation in Maui. My theme was mermaid Ariel hair with a mermaid crown... It was a NIGHTMARE!!!! After lightening my roots and adding red I was left with a HUGE DARK BAND about an inch from my roots. I has informed her previous to starting that Paul Mitchell school did a shadow root which could potentially affect the outcome of the lightening... All to no avail ultimately. Long story short, i was in the salon for around 6 HOURS! She desperately tried to cover it with MORE DYE 5 TIMES!!! Finally I couldn't take anymore and said "It's ok!" After all was said and done I paid $180 for the color, $30 for a RED conditioner PLUS felt it necessary to TIP 2 PEOPLE (Theresa is amazing btw) for copper hair and a dark ring! It was WORSE THAN WHWN I CAME IN!!! FAST FORWARD TO TODAY... After returning from Maui and being encouraged by the staff to "reach out if anything needed fixing" I went to a consultation with Suzanne and Theresa. We made an appointment for today! After I sat there for another 4 hours the owner decides to charge me "ONLY $80" for the correction which was established as being THEIR FAULT!! I'M BLOWN AWAY!!!! IF I was going to be charged I would have scheduled on a different day or not at all and should have been made aware PREVIOUS TO THE SERVICE!!!!! This put me in a position where I had to give the large tip I had for the stylist to the salon! SCAM is right... Even though the salon is beautiful, product is great, the service is not even 3 STARS... DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME! A SHAME!

One of the best salons I have ever been to. The staff is professional, kind, and attentive. Not to mention, the salon is beautiful & elegant. You will feel like royalty. When I usually visit other salons, even barbershops, my stylist fails to give proper attention to a thorough consultation. I feel like just another customer they’re trying to get through the door. At Pulse Salon, the stylists have always made sure to consult with me on the appropriate length & style. I feel like a good friend, rather than just a number. I have received my best results at this salon and I have been to MANY different salons. If I lived in Portland I would continue to come here regularly. I definitely highly recommend to anyone who is looking for quality results and a second home!

Went in a while back to get some very choppy layers fixed and was so happy! She did a great job! I also dyed my hair a bit darker too. My hair felt super thirsty and dry but after a deep condition it was sooo soft and smooth. All around a very friendly and great place!

Awesome, awesome, awesome! Coming to Portland from Fort Worth for a wedding, the staff worked with me over the phone weeks in advance to make sure everything went smoothly. Nikki did my hair and make-up. My husband said I looked great! It was a wonderful experience, thank you, Pulse Salon!

I LOVE this place. I had the BEST experience. I work regular 8-5 hours. I had no idea where I wanted to go, but I found this place online. The ratings were good and they were willing to work with my schedule! I was so thankful. Not only did my hair turn out amazing, I had the best experience I have ever had at a salon. Nikki made me feel right at home and comfortable telling her exactly what I want. She really took her time and the entire experience was above and beyond. I won't be going anywhere else for my hair care needs. Thank you Nikki. Shout out to Arthur for being so kind and friendly as well. It's one of the worst feelings to walk into a salon and feel like they don't really want you there. This was the exact opposite feeling. So THANKYOU. I would definitely recommend to anyone. Already looking forward to my next experience here.

I had an absolutely horrible experience here after paying $230 for all over highlights. My hair was ruined and looked/felt like processed cardboard. The owner didn’t bother to return my calls or respond to my email and zero compensation was given. I had to cut 3 inches of my hair off because of the stylist mistake and pay a different salon $200 to correct the mistake :( The assistant manager encouraged the owner to contact me given my experience but I never heard from her (was told she went camping for a few days). I called again after manager returned from camping but manager wasn’t available. I was never given the option to see a different hair stylist and had no idea that was ever an option until after the third and final visit and was told this by the receptionist. I have never gone back to a hair stylist for corrections until coming here

I had the best experience here there staff is wondering and caring they have a very calm and peaceful environment and always make sure you are doing okay! One of the perks I found to this salon was the mini neck massage after the washing of my hair it helped to release the pain of cramping from being laid back. And my hair is above what I expected I knew they would do a outstanding job but I am so impressed and in love with my hair I wanted a chage and Suzanne gave me just that not to mention she squeezed me in last minute and booked me in on her day off to say the least I wont go anywhere but here!

I have lived in Portland for a few years and have been to quite a few different salons and hairstylists but Pulse will always be my first choice. The customer service here is on point. The stylists here pay very close attention to detail from the shape of my head, the direction my hair grows, to what color to dye my hair in accordance to my skin-tone etc. Each visit I always learn something new about my hair and leave satisfied.

I've been going to pulse for 2 years. The staff is very friendly and professional. My stylist, Nikki has always given me superb cuts, colors and styles. Never disappointed. Prices are reasonable and they will work with your schedule. Highly recommend

This place is the best! They bring you a glass of wine and then you get to go have a fabulous experience in a comfortable space. It feels like you're at a friend's really nice house. They have amazing staff also!
