After years of hearing what a great neighborhood salon this is, i finally planned far enough in advance to make an appointment. So glad I did! Colleen is a great hair colourist and a wonderful conversationalist and warm person as well. I'll be back for my next cut!

We are so lucky to have Pure Alchemy the Columbia City neighborhood! The atmosphere is wonderfully upbeat and welcoming. A beautiful floral mural greets you when you walk in, and the space feels fresh, stylish, and also homelike. It seems like every time I walk in, there's laughter or a funny story being told. And now they have a new addition to the salon--the cutest hypoallergenic puppy, who decided to cuddle all through my most recent appointment! 💖 I've been coming to Colleen for a couple years to get my hair foiled. I'd never colored my hair before and was nervous about it. She walked me through all the different options and helped me experiment to find a look that I loved. I've stuck with that look--and with Colleen!--ever since, and I truly feel refreshed and more like myself after every visit. All the stars for Pure Alchemy and for Colleen!

Pure Alchemy is such a cute salon, and it's right in the heart of Columbia City. I've been going to Pure Alchemy for a few years, and my hair always looks great when I leave. Even better, my hair still look great after I wash and style it at home, which really says something. I've referred several folks and they've become regulars too. I go to Colleen who always does a stellar job with my highlights, but I've seen great cuts and colors from everyone working there. If you're looking for a new salon, I can't recommend Pure Alchemy enough.

Colleen gave me so much time and attention to give me a great bob cut that works with my fine straight hair and lifestyle. I appreciated that she taught me how to style the cut, too. She was easy to talk with and so clearly cares a lot about her clients and craft.

Nicole did my hair and it was perfect, we talked about color and the process before hand and got it all figured out. They offered me water, tea or coffee as well while they were doing my hair. Wonderful salon in a cute place and not an overwhelming experience at all! Can’t wait to be back in a few months :)

Pure Alchemy is a great salon with very talented stylists and products you can feel good about! I’m very happy with my haircut and I’ll be coming back. I’m happy knowing I’m supporting a local small business, but seriously, the prices are better than fancy downtown salons, I’m happier with this cut than many I’ve gotten at other places around the city, plus parking is easy and affordable. Book an appointment with Colleen, you’ll be happy you did!

Checked out Pure Alchemy Salon for the first time this week and had a great experience. New owner Colleen carefully and kindly talked me through her ideas and gave me a beautiful trim that I was super happy with. Besides that, she's very nice and fun to talk to while getting your hair cut. Overall fantastic service and salon, will definitely be going back there for my next trim!

Colleen is an amazing hair stylist. She always goes out of her way to make sure you’re comfortable and she is just a great conversationalist too. I love getting my hair dyed by Colleen because she uses really great products and she always walks me through the process and doesn’t leave me in the dark. I would 100% recommend getting your hair done by her! ❤️

Cute little salon in a house with a bright, welcoming space! Booking and availability was easy, and Nicole did a fantastic job listening to what I wanted and executing the style. She took the time to make sure I was happy with the result, and I didn’t feel rushed when I requested a few changes towards the end. All in all, great work and great people! Will be back again.

First time here and saw Nicole and am so happy I found this gem of a place. Such a cute salon and Nicole was amazing. I asked for a bob ala Victoria Beckham during her early spice girls days and Nicole delivered! Obsessed with my new hair look!

I absolutely love my haircut from Tisha! Before I found her, I always dreaded getting my haircut because nobody seemed to understand how to cut my curly hair and I always walked away unsatisfied. Now, because of her, I already look forward to the next time I get to see her before I’m out of the door. She listens and cuts it exactly how I want it, plus she’s an amazing conversationalist. Nicole is the best keratin provider we have found in Seattle! My daughter and I appreciate her enthusiasm, delightful demeanor, and of course, the perfect outcome every time. She listens to what you’re trying to accomplish according to your particular hair type and knows how to deliver. Highly recommend! Love our keratin treatments with her!!

This was my first time getting my hair cut at Pure Alchemy and I was truly impressed. I’ve seen it many times and luckily enough Nicole had an opening today. The salon is super cute and the location is perfect! Nicole was incredibly kind and talked through the service before we began. The products used made my hair feel incredible. The cut was just as I asked for and she even styled my curly hair. I can’t wait to come back and book with Nicole again next time.

As a non speaking deaf client, I appreciated how flexible Colleen was with communicating and she was easy to understand while using different communication methods as needed.she adapted well. It’s also a nice place and relaxing atmosphere. She definitely put a lot of work in my hair along with good advice and ideas. I plan to return to continue working on finding a style that suits me just right. Now I’ve got a fun cut to play with for a while. :)

I love this place! I always feel welcome and leave looking and feeling wonderful. Colleen is very friendly and listens to what you want, she’ll help get the style that works for you. The place is quaint and the front porch very relaxing while waiting. It’s easy to make reservations through their website. I totally recommend it! 🤗

Best hair cut I’ve had. In my life. Period. Colleen listened and asked great questions and created something that made me feel like a work of art, and feels like it’s really me. Most hair cuts I’ve gotten in my life I leave feeling “okay that’s fine.” This cut I felt like, “damn! I didn’t know I could look and feel so good!” I have gotten non-stop compliments on my hair all month. Honestly, it’s been a transformative experience. If you want to go from “okay fine” to “wow!!!!” Go see Colleen. I’ve found my hair home!
