I had my first (but not last!) appointment with Sal today and it was great! I just got mini highlights and gloss and it’s a total 180, he’s a master. I can’t wait to see what kind of magic he can work when I come back for more in-depth color services. Thank you!

He's generous with his time, energy, and creativity, and keeps a well-run, bright, super queer-friendly salon. Nowhere else I'd rather go!

My hair was in desperate need of some love. I have coarse, textured hair that has been feeling very dry this winter season. I came in to see Salvador and he brought my hair back to life! He also mixed a custom color that matched my roots beautifully but added richness and shine! The space is so cute and clean! Fresh cut, color and gloss and I feel like a new woman! This review is long overdue, however I felt compelled to write this review because of the exceptional experience I had. I am a graduate student and I have a very busy schedule. My natural hair is a dark black color, and I originally had a balayage type blonde hair color. As it grew out, my roots were in stark contrast to the blonde, and I wanted to lighten the top of my hair to match the blonde that I already had. I went to a salon that was recommended by a coworker and I had a very bad experience. I ended up with a muddy brunette color that completely removed the blonde I already had and did not incorporate my roots at all. I was very upset as I was starting school the following week and my hair was ruined. The stylist justified it by telling me that the blonde I wanted could not be achieved in one session, however she never communicated to me that it could not be done previously, and furthermore she did not explain why I was no longer blonde. I was ultimately very frustrated, and I did not trust that salon to attempt to fix my hair. One of my friends recommended Salvador Valles from RAI Studio. I went in with very low expectations as I realized how ruined my hair was and I just wanted it to look presentable at this point. Salvador was extremely warm and welcoming. He listened to me as I explained to him what had happened, and we talked about what my goals were for my hair and what he would be able to do during our session. I immediately felt heard and like I could trust him. It was obvious that Salvador was very knowledgeable and experienced, and he explained to me how he would undertake fixing my hair. I was able to relax and have a good experience knowing that Salvador was going to try his best to fix my hair. I was absolutely blown away by the results. Not only did Salvador fix my hair, but he was able to execute the vision that I had originally had for my hair and for my dark roots to be incorporated with the rest of my hair. I left that day feeling my self-confidence restored. I got so many compliments on my hair, and I would highly recommend Salvador to anyone looking for a professional, caring stylist with a passion for what they do.
