I was looking at a few salons and picked Rename Hair Salon! Let me tell you when I say this place is a go-to spot for a lot of people! I was sitting there and at least a handful/if not all were returning customers during the span of my five hour session! I’m absolutely amazed at the staff here and absolutely love my stylist! Stylist Ans and the team take the time to understand their clients wishes, what is feasible, and recommendations. 10/10 would recommend the salon!

i’ve been going to Ans for 2 yrs now and he is the BEST. i love the way he cuts my hair and he is the only person i trust to color it. i’ve gone red and blonde and now lavender, and his technique is always flawless. i’m so happy he has his own salon now because his attention to detail is unmatched.

I have been a client of Ans for 10 years and he is amazing! Every time I come for a cut and bayalage, it’s a 10/10 experience. He’s extremely knowledgeable about how to keep my hair healthy, meticulous about the whole process and listens to what you want to ensure you are happy with the results. I love going there and prices are reasonable compared to the many other salons in NYC. So grateful for Ans and his wonderful service!

Ans is an extremely attentive stylist. Throughout the whole process, he was meticulous about how the hair sits and is styled. I had asked for a particularly layered cut and he was able to deliver results perfectly! He even helped give tips on how to style the cut myself. It is very clear he loves what he does and it shines through his work!!

I absolutely loved the haircut I got from Louis. He knew how to work around facial features, hair type, and lifestyle and gave suggestions based off the reference photos I brought. He took his time on my haircut and really paid attention to all the small details. Also as a side note I have a ton of piercings so I was grateful that he was gentle around them and took care to not bump the ones that were healing :'-) I'll definitely be back!

I tried Rename salon for the first time after a friend had recommended it and I’m already excited to go back! Ans (as well as the other stylists) takes the time to fully understand the specific cut and color requests, makes sure to use bleach-free process to cause less hair damage and extremely gentle with my hair (I have a sensitive scalp and thin hair so this is extremely appreciated). Service prices are also very reasonable.

My experience at Rename was excellent! Ans gave me a perfect Balayage (with highlights) and a great haircut - he chose a suitable chocolate brown town for me, and his treatment and styling left my hair very silky and looking great. He is highly skilled and cares for every detail! So many compliments from friends and family on Ans’ work! The salon staff were nice and seem to enjoy being at work. A great atmosphere - relaxing, chilled music and good energy. Thank you so much and I can’t wait to return to Rename!

I had tried many salons and usually have a bad experience with the color/ haircuts. Ans came recommended so when his work Instagram, I bought in a couple of inspos to show him which hair color and cut I was debating on. He gave helpful feedback for my decision today. The haircut is absolutely stunning. The photo doesn’t even do it justice- Love the bangs and volume. I would definitely come back to him again and recommend him to others.

Always amazing service and results! I have been going to Ans to get my hair colored 2-3x yearly for the past 5 years now. I have recommended him to friends and family who've also enjoyed their experience. What makes him stand out from others is his immense attention to detail whether it's cutting your hair or throughout the entire coloring/balayage process to ending it with styling your hair. Overall 10/10 - Congrats on your new salon!!

First time going to Rename Hair Salon and I’m already looking forward to my next appointment with them. Ans is a true hair coloring professional. He takes into consideration the health of your hair and thoroughly explains every step of the process. Instead of promising an unrealistic outcome like some other hair colorists do, he is very honest in the beginning about what the final results will look like if he thinks it’s not achievable, due to your current hair condition. I went for a darker cherry color today and was very pleased with the results as no bleach was required to achieve this. The hair salon itself is very clean, modern and minimalist. All of the staff are very friendly and take the time to talk to all their clients. Price wise, I’d say their price list is super fair for the quality of their services. Compared to other mid to high-end salons that charge almost 2x the price, I’d rather go here for the same, if not better results. More than happy with this salon!

Got the color I wanted from a hair coloring session and Louis spent time to style my hair afterwards as well!! Highly recommend coming here especially if you have thick asian hair like mine!

I had an amazing experience at Rename Hair Salon! The place was clean, and the staff were friendly, professional, and quick to respond when I booked my appointment. They were also flexible with my schedule, which I really appreciated. Most importantly, the results were great. My stylist truly listened to my needs and provided excellent color recommendations that suited my skin tone. I highly recommend this salon!

I highly recommend Louis! My personal barber🤭 has good skills and aesthetics. The hairstyles he makes are superb! Every time after getting their hair done, my friends always praise how good it looks! It's really not easy to find a reliable barber hahahaha

I met Louis 4 years ago and we became friends since then. He is always such patient to me, listens to my needs, and we try new hairstyles and hair colors together. This review is waaaay overdue but Ans is amazing! I’ve been going to him for several years now to either get my hair cut and/or colored. I moved out of state from NYC a few years ago and every time I plan a trip to visit NYC, I always make an appointment with Ans as I don’t trust anyone else with my hair. I literally would just show him a picture of what I want and he recreates it. Below is the inspiration haircut on Lucy Hale that I showed Ans and the end result on my hair!!

This was my first time going to see Ans, I have previously been flying back to California for the last few years to get my hair done. I’m quite picky and nervous when it comes to my hair, so I was extremely impressed by how Ans listened to all my concerns and patiently discussed expectations and outcomes. He was extremely gentle with how he treated my hair for both the cut and color. I felt really safe trusting his recommendation based on his extreme attention to detail. He gave me such a perfect cut and beautiful color (despite my brassy undercolor), and even gave me a mask treatment because my hair felt dry. I will definitely be returning!!

I have fine straight Asian hair and this is the only place I trust to cut, color and style my hair. I've tried multiple salons in the city and was never satisfied until I found the stylists at Rename. Every time I get my hair done here, I constantly get compliments. They are an A+ team and would recommend them to anyone.

Amazing stylists who are super meticulous with my long Asian hair! I followed the owner here & can confirm his whole team of stylists is amazing! I come here for my balayage + haircut & I get compliments on my hair even many months out when it’s time to go back for a refresh. I literally drive out from Long Island for my appts lol

I got my hair color butchered in jersey. Rename was super flexible with squeezing me in last minute. While giving honest insight of which correction options would be healthier, ideal for long-term, etc, the service was so good; they did a great job in correcting my hair. I feel so much better now. The staff was very patient and detail-oriented throughout the entire process. I’ll be coming here from now on and advise anyone to do the same, thank you so much.

I have been going to one of the hairdressers for over 5 years now and they always deliver! Very attentive, patient, and kind. You can show them a picture of what you are looking for or give them an idea. They’re happy to share their advice, but won’t force their opinions on you either. The salon is very clean, neat, and modern - very comfortable space. They really take the time to do your hair and I’m always happy with the results too. :)

Long overdue review as Ans has been doing my hair 5+ years. I'm VERY picky about who does my hair and I can happily say that I ONLY trust Ans. He is a color PRO. He has been doing my balayage for years and it never gets brassy and always comes out so perfectly. Even when it grows out, it blends in so beautifully with my naturally dark hair. I've had so many strangers compliment me. He truly takes his time and I've never had someone SO meticulous when coloring my hair. Sometime I'll have photos to reference, otherwise, I tell him what I'm going for and it comes out so perfect every time. Coloring takes about 3.5 hours (with the help of his assistant) so make sure to have a snack and charged phone. There is wi-fi available. Ans will also do photos at the end of your service which he'll send to you. I text him to set up all my appointments. Go to Ans, you will not regret it!

My friend has been going to Ans for YEARS and I’m so glad she introduced me to his salon. Ans is an amazing colorist - my balayage and highlight is so natural and blended. The color saturates very well and is exactly what I wanted. His assistant Yang Yang is also very personable. Great vibes and skills. Definitely recommend!
