Michelle is wonderful and has truly helped me transform my skin. I have very bad acne issues and have seen many estheticians throughout my life and Michelle is the best. She knows more about products and acne than anyone I’ve ever been to and really does care about her clients and their progress. I will continue to go to her as long as I live in SF.

Michelle was lovely!! Super patient and knowledgeable. She performed a lash lift, lash tint, brow tint and wax. She did a spectacular job! My previous experiences with a lash lift have been painful and uncomfortable. Michelle really takes her time! Fantastic experience- I highly recommend!!!

Excellent facial. Extremely relaxing. I especially liked the lymphatic drainage. Kim went above and beyond. Products felt great and they were not pushy on selling!

I have never been consistent about regular facials and/or updating my skincare regularly as my skin is generally 'ok', but working with Michelle has changed my habits and mentality on this. She was great in doing a throughout consultation about my skin and lifestyle (and my dislike of many products and scents). Her extractions are about as painless as they can be. The products that she and the salon use are excellent. She keeps my products updated depending on what my skin is doing and provides a clear game plan I can follow at home to keep up everything looking great, to the point that friends & family have commented how good my skin looks. Michelle's skin is also fantastic, as she practices what she prescribes, so it is a great motivation. And she gives the best neck massages.

I recently had my first-ever facial experience at Retreat, and I must say it was nothing short of incredible. As a trans-masc individual, I walked in with a mix of excitement and apprehension, unsure of what to expect from the experience. Given the nature of skincare treatments, I was concerned about potential discomfort and misunderstanding. However, Retreat exceeded my expectations on every level. From the moment I stepped into the salon, Michelle, my esthetician, put me at ease with her warm and welcoming demeanor. Her genuine care and understanding immediately made me feel comfortable, allowing me to relax and fully enjoy the experience. As someone who is entirely new to skincare, I had a plethora of questions, and Michelle was not only patient but also incredibly knowledgeable. She took the time to answer all of my questions, providing valuable insights into skincare and helping me understand the basics. What truly stood out was her ability to meet me exactly where I was in my skincare journey, without judgment or pressure. Most importantly, Michelle's inclusive and affirming approach made me feel genuinely good about myself. It was a pivotal moment for me, as I had never established a skincare routine before. She provided guidance and recommendations tailored to my unique needs, setting me on a path toward healthier and happier skin. I wholeheartedly recommend Retreat, especially to those queer, trans, and gender non-conforming individuals. 10/10

I was going to Kim for facials regularly pre-pandemic and then moved out of SF. No one compares to her! I finally went back after realizing no one else is nearly as good and 10/10 will go back again. The best facial in town!

I've been seeing Kim for my facials for many years now, including before she and Michelle opened up Retreat. From the very first treatment, my experience was beyond positive. And different from facials I'd had previously. Kim is not only highly knowledgeable and skilled in all things related to skin care, she is also caring, intuitive and generous. I found myself looking forward to getting a facial the same way I'd look forward to getting a massage (ok, maybe not so much the extractions, but everything else!) It wasn't just my face that felt nurtured and cared for, and when I learned that Kim also did Reiki, I understood why. Kim is a healer. I also started going to her for reiki sessions when I needed help with a grieving process, stress and overwhelm, or just to get grounded and gain more clarity about my life. Whether a facial or a reiki treatment, I have always found it to be a transformative experience. And for pure bliss-- I highly recommend trying the Gua Sha facial. It's amazing. Pamela

I’ve been seeing Michelle for six months now and let me tell you, she is the absolute best decision I’ve ever made for my skincare! I’ve struggled with acne over the years, and I have a ton of sun damage from my outdoor hobbies. I didn’t think my skin could ever look this good unless I got some outrageously expensive treatment, or figured out how to go back in time. I could not be happier to have found someone so knowledgeable in their craft! Thank you, thank you, thank you Michelle and Retreat SF team for everything that you do 🫶🏼

Michelle and Kim have totally revolutionized my beauty routine and I am so grateful for my frequent appointments! I don’t know what I would do without them. I started getting my brows and lashes done with them a year or two ago and am never turning back! Michelle is just SO good at what she does. I met her with aging problem skin, and she took the time to understand my history and recent challenges and what could work for me, then gave me the best and most effective facial I’ve ever had. She set me up with an at-home regimen, including luscious products as well as lifestyle tips, and asked for 90 days to help me soothe and balance my skin to set things right. 90 days in, my skin looks and feels better than it did 20 years ago. My regular treatments with Michelle not only glow me up, but are also a fun and relaxing girl chat session with a truly beautiful human. Michelle now has another raving fan - and a client - for the long haul. I can’t wait for my next glow-enhancing session.

Retreat is a such a treat! I see Michelle for a Lash Lift quarterly and i still get excited by the results each time I go. The treatment makes my eyelashes look curled and long, I don’t even have to wear mascara. Michelle is very knowledgeable, makes you feel comfortable, and is always on top of the latest info on skincare and treatments. I feel lucky to have Retreat in the neighborhood, Highly recommend.

I received a facial treatment from Michelle and it was more than I hoped for. I have chronic adult acne and also a special brand of acne (Pityrosporum Folliculitis a.k.a malassezia folliculitis) which makes it hard to find a good skincare routine with how many common ingredients can be acne triggers. Add in trying to shop cruelty free products and it's hard to find someone who would be a good fit for spa care. Michelle was upfront with expectations due to my acne ailments and transparent with all the products she used. She tailored my spa treatment to suit my needs and consulted me on what products I used and general skin health. The spa room was clean and comfortable and overall she made my treatment calming and relaxing. The end of my session was skin wasn't inflamed or irritated. The real test was to see if I broke out in the following weeks. And other then hormonal acne due to my cycle I didn't have any! I was really please with the samples of skincare products Michelle gave me to take home as they also didn't cause breakouts. I am looking forward to scheduling another treatment session in the future

I ♡ that the space is explicitly body positive! I sometimes feel uncomfortable getting beauty services, but felt very welcomed and loved. I left my facial feeling dewy and relaxed AF. Michelle is a master, and the space is so cute. Recommend!

The new owners, Michelle and Kim, are incredible. I’ve seen them both for waxing services for years and love them. Have started getting my hair done by Thomas, and am so happy with his color, cut and styling. Highly recommend this place.. amazing people and energy.
