I can’t say enough good things about Emily and the shop. Everyone is always warm and welcoming and Emily is an absolute genius stylist/colorist. Been coming here since 2018 and hope the team and shop just continue to grow and grow!

Consulting before the cut is very important especially when you think the client wants over a foot of hair cut off. Teen agers need a little more dialog because they are still learning how to communicate their needs and wants especially when speaking to an adult. Before and after. Not a good look for anyone let alone a middle schooler.she was very talented but feel perhaps that everything went wrong and a 14 year old ended up with a bob.

I have gone now twice and both times I booked with Jay. They are amazing and super friendly! I am not much of a talker but they made me feel comfortable and enjoyed their conversation. Ive gotten so many compliments on my hair, I showed them what I wanted, and it came out perfect each time. The shop itself is very clean and has a great atmosphere to it. They offer drinks too. Do make extra time to find parking just in case with all the construction the city is doing in land park area.

The photo I showed the stylist vs the haircut I got. A little confused where the mullet came from. And this is after they said they would even it out, it was even more uneven in the back before this.

Had a haircut with marina and requested a wolfcut/shag and provided a picture to use as reference. I ended up with a disconnected haircut that was at least 4-5 inches shorter than the photo I showed her and with bangs that were so thick and blocky, they could be on par with a bowl cut. I had pieces that were cut so short, the hair was as long as someone getting a PIXIE cut and I asked for a medium length to my shoulders? The worst part is: the bangs are so short that I couldn’t fix them if I wanted to and just have to wait until they grow out. Was trying to convince myself that it doesn’t look that bad and eventually broke down when I realized there’s no saving it with styling. Seriously the worst haircut I’ve ever gotten in my life and I 100% cried about it and can’t get over how hideous it is. It’s a cute place but seriously not enough checks for the length and I couldn’t see what she was doing because I had my glasses off. Not at all like the picture. Update: she did, however offer me an opportunity to come back for them to fix it and was apologetic. I won’t be going back because of how short my hair is and I have to grow it out (also massive trust issues now), but I can see how this could be helpful for someone who wasn’t too concerned about the length.

I wanted to give it a minute to leave a review and a few weeks after getting a haircut with Jay I can honestly say this is the best haircut I have ever received. I was *very* hesitant to get my hair done in Sac as all my previous stylists worked extensively in cities like NY, LA, and Toronto, so not going down to SF was, to me, a risky move. I am so happy I decided to book with Jay; the entire appointment was an ongoing conversation and they managed to take my mess of reference photos, specific instructions, and “vibes” and amalgamate it into something spectacular. They were incredibly meticulous, walking me through every step and remaining incredibly patient through every micro-decision I made about my hair. I probably spent 1h30 in that chair, and the entire time Jay was friendly, upbeat, and genuine. I hope I am lucky enough to get my next cut done by them.

Love this place! Was on Ashley's waitlist and she managed to bump me up weeks in advance after Labor Day. As a dude with longer hair, I've been looking for a new stylist in Sac to give my hair more shape and layers, and Ashley killed it! Brought in some reference pics and left with a great blend of ideas that worked for my curl pattern. Highly recommend!

Marina is your go to girl!! From color to cuts! Long, short, or medium. She is fire!! Her mullets with a taper are my favorite. You can not go wrong with Marina! Can't wait to see her again

Jay is the best! I felt very welcome as a neurodivergent + nonbinary customer with straight, medium-length hair. I was asked about my pronouns, offered fidget toys, and the cosmetologist also read the message that I left on the booking website. I did not have a clear vision for what I wanted done with my hair, but Jay helped me find it. Will definitely be back for a trim!
