I’m leaving one star because I paid $528 for Japanese straightening yet this wasn’t done. I’m unsure what was put in my hair but Sylvia said Milbon Japanese straightening. It isn’t the same as it was done before when I had Japanese straightening. My hair is the same as it was before I went here after a shower with the exception of my cut. A co-worker commented my hair was cut straight upon seeing me. I informed Sylvia this was the reason I didn’t return to my previous stylist when I went for my appointment and ended with the same results, a straight haircut, she tried with the chair cloth guide. At this point, I’m unsure if all of this was done purposely incorrect or due to lack of skill. I don’t recommend this location for Japanese straightening or for a haircut. I scheduled an appointment and was double-booked. A step was probably missed due to alternating between the services provided to both of us. I was there from 12 pm to 6 pm and didn’t want to rush the process yet it should’ve been done in half the time. I had it done on 06/08 and it is 06/20. Japanese straightening doesn’t wash out in this period of time. I didn’t wet it as I stayed inside and have properly cared for this service before. My hair isn’t damaged and I have put nothing in it for over six months prior to this service. Now I have to wait to get my hair fixed and done correctly.

She IS AMAZING. I loved the way she cutted my hair she did it better than other salons I've been to she is very thorough with the hair cut and gives amazing tips to help maintain and gives good recommendations for products to help with hair ❤️

The owner is very knowledgeable and capable of all aspects of hair and skin treatments. I will definitely go back and highly recommend her. I got a cut and perm (yeah, who does that any more) and the result was perfect.

Avoid the salon at all cost unless! When we arrived we showed Sylvia the haircut we wanted, along with the low lights we expected. Instead she failed to delivered on what we asked for. She cut my hair in a mullet style and looks choppy. If she didn’t feel capable of achieving the service she should’ve told us from the very beginning instead she charged additional fees without first let’s us know. It wasn’t until the end when we asked what the extra fees were for that she stated she had to use additional products but this should of been communicated in the beginning. This is the worst experience I have ever had and will never return.

TL;DR Not worth the money or time to get your eyelashes lifted and tinted here, and don’t plan on starting at your scheduled appointment time. Sylvia herself is sweet and accommodating. I have not used any of her other services. I came to Ricci and Capricci today for an eyelash lift and tint. I have never had anything done to my lashes before, so I thought this would be a baby step before I tried extensions. Sylvia was very kind and accommodating. She explained the whole process the entire time she performed the eyelash lift and tint. I saw previous reviews that mentioned her not being consistent with the time of the scheduled appointment, so to curb that, I decided to call an hour before our appointment to confirm that we would start on time, making sure she doesn’t have a client that may run over into my appointment time. She assured me that everything would start at my scheduled time, at 2pm. When I arrived, she was shampooing and rinsing another clients hair, then still had to blow dry and style their hair before she got to me. She told me beforehand that the session would take about an hour long, so in my mind I was planning on leaving the salon around 3pm. Unfortunately, she did not start on me until 2:45pm. Aside from starting late, Sylvia made me feel comfortable and walked me through her process. By the end of the hour, I was excited to see my lashes lifted and fanned out, but was met with a less than lackluster result. I’ll attach photos on my before and after. But my eyelashes looked exactly the same! I was so disappointed in wasting both my time and money. If you’re looking to get your eyelashes lifted and tinted, please look elsewhere.

Although Sylvia was very nice, I was very disappointed in today's service. I set an appointment for 1 in the afternoon today, but Sylvia reached out Sunday to change it to 10 am. No problem, I made the arrangements so my husband could watch our son earlier. At 9:40 I got a text saying she was going to be 20 minutes late, but I was already on my way (I live 35 minutes from her salon and was gifted this groupon). She didn't show up until 10:35. On top of that, I was expecting to have a relaxing spa pedicure, but the way it was set up I had to sit in a chair (just a regular decorative chair) up against the wall that didn't lean back or recline, which was rough on my already jacked up back. The foot soak was just a bucket with water, no jets or anything. I was also disappointed in the color choices. She only had 25 color and half were nude shades and the other super bright and obnoxious shades. No glitter, no wine colors, very limited. Probably the most disappointing part was lack of massage. One of the most relaxing parts is the massage and I would say she spent 2-3 total between both legs. My deluxe spa pedicure here was not up to par with previous places I have been to. She even told me to be careful because my nails were still wet when I left. I've always been given enough time under lights/fans at other places for nails to dry before being told to go. Again, Sylvia was a very nice lady, but definitely didn't feel like I got the service that was advertised.

Don’t recommend this place for a pedicure with Sylvia. I had a groupon for a paraffin pedicure and I originally made an appt a week out. My appt was rescheduled twice and then the day of my rescheduled appt, it was cancelled 2 hours before. I asked when I could reschedule, yet again, and received no response. I am typically an understanding person and empathetic that things come up. But my appt was already rescheduled twice and then cancelled. Then she wouldn’t even respond to reschedule again. So after waiting for a response for two hours I said that I would not reschedule and would get a refund for my Groupon and go elsewhere. Still no response. A friend a mine experienced the same thing with her Groupon. Appt was changed multiple times and then Sylvia was 30 minutes late for her appt. All I can say is, don’t waste your time and don’t buy her Groupon. Sylvia, if you don’t want people to use Groupons or you don’t care about them, don’t advertise them. Plain and simple. Be more professional, please. I would have tipped you very well had I actually been able to use your services. This would have been my first pedicure since having my son and I was looking forward to it.

I went for a pedicure and was a little disappointed that there wasn't the big pedicure chair. She did a great job with what she had but I wasn't comfortable. I sat in a salon type chair and she brought out a foot bucket, not jets, with slightly warm water. She did a good job on making my feet soft and painting my toes. I'm just uses to the big pedicure chairs and was looking forward to it. It seems like she specializes in hair and facials though. Small business owner if you like to support her.

Sylvia is knowledgeable about products and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The Jessner PCA peel was uncomfortable but she talked me through everything and made me feel at ease. I would definitely see her again. Awesome service!

I really wanted to give Sylvia a good rating because she was very nice during my appointment, but the most I can bring myself to give is 2 stars. For starters, my appointment was for 2:30, but I had to wait in my car for 40 minutes until 3:10 because she had to step out for a supply run. She apologized, but it just kind of made me feel like I was not a priority to her. When she returned I got a pedicure and a hair cut. The pedicure was great, but I was very disappointed with my haircut. I did not ask for (nor did I want) short bangs, but somehow I left with some very unflattering bangs. I hate these bangs and they were NOT AT ALL what I asked for or showed her. I have attached pictures of what I showed her that I wanted versus what I actually left with. The pictures I showed had long bangs that frame the face.... My bangs are just chopped off at about eye level. I just hate that I am going to have these bangs for at least the next six months until they start to grow out.

The experience was one of a kind, Sylvia was very professional & very detailed. She did not rush to complete her task, which made me feel very comfortable and acknowledged. I am definitely going back again.

This place is very nice, clean and peaceful. I like that she only takes appointment. I went in for a hair cut and it felt nice just having peace and quiet. I recommend this place. Just fYI, I passed the salon twice, it’s kind of hard to find. You might want to consider parking at or near the Witte Museum parking garage.
