Just left with my first haircut from Taren, and i'm in love with how I look. I asked her for an artsy, shag look and she brought out a razor and delivered. She has great taste in hair products too. They smell amazing and natural, and don't feel heavy at all. I lucked out on this recommendation. Looking forward to going back!

Hands down the only person who has ever understood my hair. Love Malerie! So intuitive with hair. I would trust anyone else. Every time I get my hair cut, everyone wants to know where I went. I’ve had people go see her and ask for my hair cut 😂

I’ve been going to Diana for 10 years or so and she never fails w my hair needs. I can be quite indecisive and she’s always so patient w me and, of course, works her magic w my hair every single time. I’ve never walked out of the salon feeling disappointed as she is pure genius w her craft. Not only is she super professional but she’s super sweet and always holds space for me when I’m in her chair. The experience we share is so special to me and I truly trust her w my hair and secrets :) She’s the best! - Kim M

I have had the pleasure of being Taren’s client for the past 10 years. It all started when a coworker of mine got her hair done and it was the most gorgeous shade of dark brown. A truly unique shade that was so dark it looked black in certain lighting. Not only did my coworker look stunning but the color was done so well that it truly looked natural. I had been thinking of dying my hair for the first time and immediately knew I wanted my hair done by the same person! Taren is fun, genuine, and very comfortable to be around. Her salon, Rio Rose, is a wonderful reflection of who she is and how she wants her clients to feel. The salon is always clean and decorated with simple yet unique items that represent her and her fellow stylists. Her ability to listen to my hair concerns and desires and in turn highlight it to perfection, is nothing short of art. Taren has honed and perfected her skills and there has never been a time when I didn’t trust her with my hair. Every time I have an appointment with Taren I leave feeling rejuvenated, refreshed and beautiful. I cannot recommend Taren and her fellow stylists at Rio Rose enough. I’ve include a few photos of my hair throughout the years. Always happy to get my hair done by Taren at Rio Rose…Her color and cuts are amazing! The salon is very welcoming and relaxing and they offer a great variety of clean hair products that I love! I will recommend Taren and Rio Rose over and over again!

Rio Rose salon is the place to go for either a little hair pick me up or a major transformation. I had my first after-COVID haircut there and took down chest length locks to a sleek French Bob and could not be more pleased with the results. Taren is an intuitive breath or fresh air!

I absolutely love this salon! Malerie is so talented- I trust her with my curly hair and I’m so grateful I can sit down, share a small vision and watch her work magic. I always joke that I’d like to bring my laptop and tuck away into a corner to work for the day- the vibe is just so welcoming and positive. I love the location, the space and most of all the people.

Cute little salon tucked in the heart of midtown. Taren does my hair and is amazing, but honestly I have had a few of the girls shooosh me at some point and you can’t go wrong! Love them all. Also, I have to mention the small curated amount of retail available, I always look forward to seeing what new things have come in. Can’t leave without picking up something shiny and new or an old stand by like Reverie Milk. (If you haven’t tried it, got get yourself some immediately). This week, I left with a shiny head of hair and a new leather bow clip that I’m so exited to get in my hair! Rio Rose, you da best! 😘

I’ve been going to Rio Rose for over a year now and to Taren for over a decade. It’s been the best experience going here and to her. Not only do you get great service but they educate you on how to maintain your hair until the next appointment. The environment is chill and everyone has great attitude. This is a lovely quaint salon. It's fairly quiet with a wonderful atmosphere & vibe. My hair dresser, Courtney Harmening, is absolutely the best. Never fails on cuts and colours. I love coming here.

Malerie is an excellent stylist. She cuts my wavy hair so it looks good without me needing to fuss with it.
