Would not recommend. I cancelled my appointment 20 hours in advance after my phone, wallet, and keys were stolen at christkindlemarket. I was locked out of my phone and email due to the theft. They proceeded to charge me a 50% cancellation fee, even after I offered to provide them with insurance claims/police report. Will be returning to my old studio, horrible customer service and added yet another expense to this awful situation.

Katherine was amazing! I had booked a full haircut but she recommended I change the appointment to a bang trim due to my goal being growing out my hair after a buzz months ago. She gave me advice and offered to continue trimming my hair while I continue growing it out. I so appreciate her welcoming me in and offering her advice! I'm excited to come back and book with her.

I've been getting my hair done by Ana for as long as I can remember. I swear she can do anything and she's just the sweetest. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair! She even gave me an amazing perm which I had a lot of fears about. I love going into the salon, always so friendly! Highly recommend to anyone wanting a place you can trust.

The staff are so talented at Robert Jeffrey Salon! They always go above and beyond and I've always had such an amazing experience getting my hair done here. I'm always recommending RJ to anyone in Chicago looking for a new salon to go to!

Had a kind of weird experience booking online. I'm looking for a new salon, and I found this place recommended online. I just need my balayage touched up so I booked on their website. The price stated $125, which worked for me. Minutes later, I received a voicemail from the stylist saying she needed to change my booking because I did not add a blow dry on. I'm not sure why it wasn't listed on the website if it was required but I get it, she can't let me leave with wet hair. However, I checked my appointment after and the price had jumped up to $222. In what world does a blowdry cost $100? I cancelled my appointment, it seemed like a shady business practice. EDIT to respond to the owner: the pricing on your booking tool for a partial balayage states 125 for a Tier 2 stylist. There is also nothing on the booking tool that mentions booking "New Client" pricing, so I would recommend looking that over as I'm sure you can understand the confusion. I have attached a screenshot from the booking tool on your website.

Found this salon from a friend and took a shot with it. Im very picky with my hair and am always nervous to try new salons. Well, I have never been more happy with a decision I’ve made before! This was the best haircut I’ve ever had and the staff was super nice and very very welcoming! My stylist (Maksim) did wonders for my long curly hair! I briefly explained to him what I wanted and what I didn’t want and he worked his superpowers on my hair. It looks so amazing and I’ve never walked away from a haircut feeling as confident as I did this time. Even a week later and I still can’t get over my hair! Thank you to this salon and I will for sure be going back in the future!

Got a Brazilian Blowout, it didn’t really work (at least did not have same results as the other 5 I’ve gotten previously in my life). Not worth the money for little to no result.

I would give more stars if I could. I moved to Chicago a year and half ago, and thankful that I found Jason at Robert Jeffrey Salon. I appreciate his professionalism, sense of humor, and above all his supreme skills! I have long dark blonde hair with particular needs. Whether it was a cut, trim, full highlights, or toner, I always leave feeling great (and receive lots of compliments) after a salon visit.

Second time getting a chemical perm and Ana was awesome. First time I had it done by someone else and they ended up leaving the neutralizer in too long and caused hair to break off. But Ana had everything timed correctly, very happy.

15 year anniversary! Jason has been my friend and stylist for 15 years. Even when I lived in other countries or states, I always come back to this salon. Wonderful service and friendship.

David was 100 percent inappropriate in regards to both his personality and interactions with me as well as the job he did on my hair. I went in for a blow dry and straitening and he talked me into a haircut saying “I was not giving him much to work with.” I finally agreed to a 1-2 inch haircut and he proceeded to cut 5-6 inches off my hair. Throughout the haircut, I could tell it was more and clarified, “is this 1-2 inches” and he said, “yes.” This goes above and beyond a bad haircut. It was complete blatant disregard for the customer despite their wishes. It was taking his own personal wishes as a stylist above the care and emotional safety of the customer. It was not only a bad haircut, it was not only 5-6 extra inches off, it was an utter disgrace. The Salon should do more than a refund for this type of behavior. They should take a good hard look at the people they are employees and what their values and motives are. And to the people, be careful what the hair dresser wants and needs may be put above your own. Disgraceful.

I have been going to Robert Jeffrey since 2008 when I moved to the Lakeview area. Jason has been my stylist for the past 14 years. I have followed him since the salon was originally on Halstead to the current location on Broadway. Jason is professional and fun. He always is friendly and have good conversation. Although my life and hair (lol) has changed… used to just get hair cut, now we add color and I moved away for work. Fortunately I worked for airline and would fly home just to see Jason. I never trusted anyone else. I have seen some negative reviews that have shocked me but I guess anyone can say anything online without consequences. Thank you, Jason..

I moved to Chicago 7 years ago and I’ve finally found a stylist that can do a great cut AND amazing color. I highly recommend Jason for your hair are needs. Staff are super friendly, the salon carries Kevin Murphy products and prices are comparable, if not better, than other places I have visited.

Stopped in for a simple cut. Noticed no one wanted to cut my hair. (There was the awkward eye exchange between 2 stylists) one guy bit the bullet and started cutting my hair. (Big mistakes on my part) I left with a bad blend and razor burns along my neck from him digging clippers into my neck. I feel like I could have gone across the street to great clips and been treated better

I have owned an interior design firm in Chicago for the last 25 years, I say that to paint a picture that I’m very particular about details, quality …and service -have tried various salons throughout Chicago and abroad. I keep coming back to Robert Jeffrey Hair Salon specifically Patrick Fuller. You will not find a better men’s haircut in the city of Chicago PERIOD!
