Absolutely in LOVE with my hair and this salon! Aida worked magic and did full balayage on my hair when I had pretty much never colored it before. I was nervous, but she was so accommodating, sweet, explained everything in the process, and was so great to talk to. I have never gotten so many compliments on my hair! I also had a curly cut there and my curls have never looked so healthy!

It was way overpriced and she cut off more than I asked and the highlight was completely inferior. I will never go back. Save your money.

I drove all the way from Topeka for someone as talented and skillful with their haircuts as Kelly, and I'm so glad I did! I have fine hair that is sometimes difficult to cut, and my bangs were horribly choppy after a bad trim. I called several stylists at several salons, and nobody understood the shape I described for my original bangs. Kelly not only fixed them completely, but the communication between the front desk to Kelly and then back to me was seamless and uncomplicated. Everyone at the salon was warm and friendly, and they really knew their stuff! Plus, the welcome kit I got after my first visit was so cute. I will definitely be back for future cuts.

Roca is great - excellent midtown location, plenty of off-street parking, and cool vibe that’s not trying too hard. Hannah is the best - she’s made me love my hair again!

This salon is selective of who they offer services. I walked in and a was discriminated against then refused service. The stylist Manuel told the front desk host that he will not wash and blow dry my hair. Salon owner stood by and supported the decision. I was charged a deposit then my card was charged and additional fee. Please is you are a person with mixture of black in your dna do not step into this salon . I crewed because I have never experience racism I felt like I traveled back to 1965.

Rhonda Cavner butchered my hair. The inspiration photo I showed looks nothing like what she did! I have curly hair that was long and she chopped it into a bowl cut. I literally left in tears. She was rude and rushed me out of her chair and told me to mess with it and come back in 4 weeks free of charge! I paid $130 dollars for the worst haircut of my life!! How could a stylist do this to someone and think they did good work! I’m sorry but who did she pay to get top stylist in KC style magazine??? Do not waste your money and ruin your hair and self confidence by going to this lady! She is the worst stylist I have ever been to!!! I researched to find a stylist that specializes in curly short cuts let me save you the time it is NOT her! French cut is a fake word for IDK what I’m doing!! Please do not go to this lady!!!! Because my first name is Kris and I have contacted you directly and she refused to refund my money and offered to cut my hair for free! I do not want her touching my hair again

Amazing job at Roca. Manuel García is a fantastic stylist. Always professional. Outstanding job. Highly recommend!! ❤️ And, I think Gracie does a great color and cut. My color was perfect. She took the time to listen to what I wanted and she executed it perfectly!

I'm new to KC and just found Roca Salon. I've been growing a mess on my head wanting enough hair to play with once I found the right stylist. Hannah was instantly the right one. Her razor cut was brilliant and fits me just right. She took her time showing me how to work with it and gave me my first experience of a shampoo after the cut, so that I didn't leave with little hairs trailing off me. The place itself had a nice vibe-an upscale feel without being so highbrow that things get pretentious or people start posturing. I loved my first time there and will definitely go back.

We are extremely happy with everyone at Roca Salon! We looked forever for a stylist who specializes in curly hair, and Rhonda is a master! For those in our family that have straight hair, Kaylee is a dream!

I don't know if I have the words to express how wonderful my experience was. I was referred to Kelley by another girl with beautiful curls. She told me I had to go to Roca and make an appointment with Kelley when I asked about her hair. Kelley and I had a consultation before the cut to talk about what I was looking for, getting her ideas on what would be good for my hair health, and what would be a good look for my curl pattern. When she was doing the cut, she made a fun suggestion of adding bangs. It was something I had always thought of, but never felt like I could pull it off. She was spot on, it turned out so cute and I have never had so much fun with my hair. Thank you, Kelley! You've got a customer for life!

I had Ebonie as my hairstylist today. It was my first time coming in to this salon, and definitely won’t be the last. Ebonie did a fantastic job on my hair, from start to finish i really loved the end result. The salon has plenty of private parking, very convenient specially the location that parking can be challenging. Very clean salon, staffs are friendly and very accommodating. I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment. Highly recommended 10/10

I have wavy hair and was recently told I should get a wavy/curly cut and it would help my wave. My hair is thick and all the same length so my wave was weighed down. So I called the salon and let them know I wanted to schedule a cut specifically for a wavy/curly hair and wanted someone that was good with that type of hair. I was told Ebonie was great and they scheduled me with her. When I got there I explained I wanted to get a haircut that would help my wave. She told me I have a lot more curl than I think, and was lifting up my roots and talking about how much more volume the cut would give me, at the time I had zero volume. I thought we were on the same page. She started cutting the ends. After a while I asked if she was going to do layers also, she said she did. I was confused, as it did not look like she did any. I thought since I am not that knowledgeable about hair maybe I just did not see them. She blow dried my hair for a couple minutes, then finished. I left with wet hair that was poofy and frizzy and still wet when I got home. I paid for the "curly" cut I was charged for and even tipped since I am not a monster. I told my daughter about the experience and showed her my hair, she said it was not a haircut, it was only a trim. I even joined an online curly hair group, and showed them my hair and asked if I have a "curly" cut. They all said no, it was only a trim. There were no layers at all. Which made sense because I did not see her do any, but I could not understand why she would lie about that. I just do not understand why she would go on about how much more volume I would have and how curly my hair would be when she only trimmed it. How would just trimming it do anything?

I really wanted to love my haircut but I absolutely hate it! I went in for a curly cut and was advised a French cut would be best for movement. I have fairly thick coarse curly hair. I normally wash n go but needed to get rid of the pyramid look at the bottom. I left with a layered Bob and the pyramid is now at my chin since my hair shrinks quite a bit once dried. Did i mention I hate bobs, it makes me look dated & old. I'm scared to do anything else to it as cutting more means longer to grow out. On a high note, my stylist and everyone was frendly and very nice. I loved the shampoo girl!! Back to square one looking for a good curly hair stylist.

I was apprehensive about the cut. I have curly hair and usually its just a straight cut with wet hair that never looks right with the curls and fall limply when dried. However, Ebonie was amazing. She cut it dry so my curls matched on each sides. She gave me extra layers for volume. She styled it so pretty I want to go back on special days just to get it styled by her. She taught me a few tricks that I can replicate at home. Her hands also felt soooo good while getting my hair washed. Def recommend.

I was in town last month and got my hair done at salon roca. The hair cut and color I was really happy with but not the price it came with. My hair has always been thick and I do have long hair however, the prices were not disclosed well. They up charged me for “xtra long and thick” hair and also they charged me for balayage but it was more like full head highlights. While, I feel like the hair cut and color was good, the prices were misleading and therefore, would not come back and would recommend anyone planning on booking get a firm price before hand.

I went here a few years ago and was a little disappointed with my service. I decided to give it another chance and I’m really glad I did. My hairstylist listened to what I wanted and my hair looks so much healthier. I had to come back and have my face framing layers blended more and she was super patient with me even when I started panicking a bit.

I would love to give a higher rating but I just can't. Let me start with the positive first. The environment is nice and trendy, staff is friendly and professional. I had appointment with someone who did not show up that day and they put me with someone else. I was charged and paid for a high level stylist yet had a low level stylist do my hair 90% of the time. She was inexperienced with curly hair and should have been guided more. My hair did not look like I came out of a salon with part of my hair frizzy and parts in the back that were not curled. The young stylist did the best she could but should have been guided more in blow drying, curling and best products for my hair. I thought the charge was inappropriate for the service and that is why I am giving this review average. If your new or not a regular beware who is really doing your hair and that you are charged appropriately.

I’ve gone here twice and I liked my hair each time. The only reason I’m docking a star off is because during my last appt, I asked for a regular cut/style by a general stylist (like previously) but I was assigned with the master hairstylist/owner and I wasn’t told of this along with the price difference. Normally, I would be a bit frustrated, but he was a great stylist and I have always wanted to get my hair done by the best at the salon. Next time, I would just like a heads up as I paid over $100 for a hair trim and a blow out which was a bit more than what I had expected. Nonetheless, I’m happy with my experience and I look forward to coming back another time.

Kalie "was" my stylist the lack of communication and professionalism is unreal waiting to speak to the owner ... " *UPDATE* owner avoided me, kept my hair extensions and product I paid for, I literally was hushed out the salon no solution I should have stopped going when they colored the blonde tape ins black and said their must have been a misunderstanding after I said I loved the blonde tape ins again something I paid for! Anyone who gets extensions on a regular knows how much time and money goes into having this service I hope that I can help someone else out

When I arrived 15 minutes early for my appointment the man , I think it was Manuel ?, was standing at his table texting, he was not busy, he looked at me then went into the back so no one was looking at him while he was not busy. Then my appointment was at 1:15 pm. He came out at 1:17, went over to his station and continued to text on his phone for another 2 minutes . So not being prompt, not seeming like he cares or respects clients time is very disrespectful in my opinion. Then I felt like his techniques were very out dated . I wanted some of the weight out of my hair and I felt like he just added a couple of layers, didn’t really do any thinning out . The salon was filthy, hair everywhere, bathrooms disgusting. My first time there I thought this was not even close to 4-5 star salon/ experience. Their website made the salon look way better than what I experienced in person. Overall my haircut and experience was subpar. I will not be returning.
