I recently took my daughter to have her hair color transitioned from blonde back to her natural medium brown roots. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a smile and offered tea and a delightful snack, which set a pleasant tone for our visit. Fatima took the time to listen attentively to my daughter's preferences and demonstrated exceptional skill and artistry in executing the desired look. Her professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail truly made the experience enjoyable and satisfying. Fatima is simply the best! She took my dry winter tired hair and popped in hair cutting techniques that added 50% more volume and shine I never knew I had. For context I have color treated wavy long hair. Thank you so much Fatima. Highly recommend!

I came for a hair styling service. Master Diana did my styling, she is a wonderful master of her craft, made me a gorgeous hairstyle and gave me a good mood for the whole day. I will definitely come back to this wonderful salon.

Aba is a fantastic hair stylist. He listened to exactly what I wanted, not taking off too much length like I asked. He did beautiful layers and curtain bangs on my long hair and finished with a gorgeous blowout!!! I’ll be back for my next hair cut.

BEST HAIR CUT!!! I have never been so happy leaving a salon! The salon had an amazing atmosphere, the staff was warm and welcoming, they were able to squeeze me in the same day. I will never go anywhere else to get my haircut moving forward so grateful I found this hidden gem! I definitely recommend going :)

Roger & Aba did an amazing job on my hair! I came in from Upstate, NY. I wanted a blowout on my hair and looking at reviews, their salon seemed to be the best pick! When I came in the salon was very neat and cute. They immediately asked if we wanted anything to drink, and let me tell you, their coffee is outstanding! My blowout exceeded my expectations! After doing extensive research topped with a recommendation from our hotel concierge, I chose Roger Markel. I made an appointment with Markel and he did an amazing job on my thin damaged hair. It started with a deep conditioning followed with valuable information on how to care for the damage. My hair is fragile right now. Markel dried my hair without pulling or stretching the hair. Olga gave me a relaxing shampoo. I can’t say enough great things about this salon. I walked out feeling confident and really happy with the results. He listened to my needs and I left with great looking hair and information on how to keep it healthy.

Always a great experience- I won’t trust anyone other than Markel to cut my hair and I’ve followed him from working in salons to running his own. Been a loyal client of his for nearly 20 years! Everyone here is always so friendly and I leave looking and feeling great.

I had a very uncomfortable experience at this salon. From the moment I walked in, the lady at the door repeatedly emphasized the price of the haircut—telling me four times that it would cost $70. Even after I assured her that the price wasn’t an issue, he kept bringing it up, which made the situation awkward and uncomfortable. When I asked Roger if he could cut my hair, he didn’t respond verbally, just shook his head without even saying hello. I found this quite rude and dismissive. The lady who cut my hair was polite and did a good job, but I was surprised when the owner told her to rush because they needed to close the salon. However, shortly after, a white customer walked in, the owner greeted him with a smile and cut his hair without any mention of time. Overall, I felt disrespected and unwelcome. The experience left me feeling uncomfortable, and I wouldn’t recommend this salon based on how I was treated.

I had an amazing experience at Roger Markel Salon today! I came in for a color gloss and haircut, and the results exceeded my expectations. Fatima listened carefully to what I wanted and made great suggestions to suit my skin tone and hair type. The color came out vibrant and exactly as I had imagined, while the cut gave my hair a fresh, healthy look with just the right amount of volume and style. I had such a wonderful and relaxing experience. I was headed to a wedding and needed a wash and blow dry - this was the best blow dry ever. I am going in on day 3 and it still looks fresh. The girl who washed my hair, took her time and made sure every bit was scrubbed and massaged. Fatima styled my hair and she was so sweet. She used some different techniques and made my hair so soft and bouncy. I will definitely come back whenever I am in NY now. It was the best treat!

I’ve been a local regular for a year, and always have an amazing experience at this hair salon! I’ve lived in 3 states so far and Fatima has been my best hair stylist ever! I have very long brunette hair that I regularly get dyed red, no easy feat, and it always comes out fabulous. The staff are talented artists, they’re so kind, and I feel like Fatima can read my mind when it comes to my hair goals. Bleaching, hair dye, hair butter, cut, blow dry, shine spray, and a couple cheeky glasses of wine, about 3 hours and a little over $300. Great prices for phenomenal results. I’ll only let Fatima touch my hair as long as I live in NYC.

Rogel was awesome. Very attentive and respectful with what I wanted done, and delivered great results! Iryna was so gentle and thorough while washing my hair, I almost fell asleep. Prices are fair! Great find for sure.
