Just had the best curly hair cut experience of my life! Kim was so kind and patient as she explained all the dos and donts for my hair type with a particular emphasis on using LESS — less product, more water! And I walked out with the haircut of my dreams! I feel so lucky I found this gem in Greenpoint. I will be exclusively going to Roots Radicals from now on! Special shout out to Tyler and everyone in the salon who made the experience so fun xx

Tana is amazing, especially for curly haircuts! She really listened to what I wanted and gave me a hairstyle that turned out even better than how I pictured it in my head. She’s super attentive and easy to talk to, which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable.

Amazing experience! I recently "discovered" that my hair is naturally curly, so I wanted to visit a salon specializing in curls. Roots Radicals Salon seemed like the perfect place—and it did not disappoint. I was looking for a big change (I wanted to go short) and was nervous about it, since I’ve had long hair for over 20 years and was always scared of putting it in the wrong hands. Harix was an absolute angel! He cut my hair dry, listened to all my concerns, and made me feel completely comfortable. As a newbie to curly hair care, he also shared tons of tips on styling and avoiding frizz. It's been a few days since my cut, and my hair still looks fabulous. This new look has given me such a confidence boost. Thank you!

Excellent experience with Sabrina. I have been going to her for my curly extensions for several months and she is always extremely professional. She matched my curl perfectly and ensured the install was seamless every time. I highly recommend Sabrina for extensions!

I love my hair because of Tana at roots Radical! I've been seeing Tana for years and she has taken great care of my curly coils. I'm African American and have natural hair, coily, and also color treated. She is masterful in her care for my hair and has coaxed my 'fro into a beautiful shape for my face, which grows out perfectly! Her prices are reasonable and she always makes time for me. The salon is friendly and fun; other stylists are equally as attentive to their clients. The salon is clean and has an accessible, professional atmosphere with styling products and a fabulous receptionist who always remembers me. Definitely give it a try!

5 stars! I had a fantastic experience with Sarah at the salon. She helped me choose the perfect color to dye my hair, as I had multiple colors in my hair that needed to be corrected. She recommended a beautiful chocolate brown that turned out amazing with my new haircut. Sarah really knows her dyes and I couldn't be happier with the results. I highly recommend her for anyone looking for a talented and knowledgeable stylist.

Absolutely love this salon and especially my cuts from Sarah! Having curly/wavy hair it can be hard to find someone you trust. Sarah listens thoughtfully to your vision and gives you options and honesty with what you can achieve and always delivers. She asks for feedback also so you can make tweaks at the end. Besides that, she is a wonderful human with great chair banter. HIGHLY RECOMMEND especially for those finer curly/wavy girls (:

I love it at this salon. Every experience I have had with Sarah has been amazing. The communication , the explanations and suggestions are invaluable .Sarah is so helpful and knowledgeable. Also, extremely fun and easy to talk to which makes time in the chair fly by. I have had a lot of hair phases and Sarah has helped achieve them all while keeping my hair happy and healthy!

Tana is my go-to stylist for a decade. I’ve followed her to Roots Radical and I cannot recommend her enough for your curly hair. DevaCurl trained, she listens and works with clients to make them look their best. Plus, she gives cuts with staying power—that look gorgeous as they grow out.

Great service with Harix. Very welcoming and professional. I am a man that is new to managing my long curly hair and he was understanding and very helpful. He took his time and made sure I was happy with the end result. Would recommend to anyone who is trying to find someone to cut their hair!

Harix is a miracle worker! I came in with dried out bleached ends asking for a complicated mullet cut and he gave me better than I could have asked for! He also educated me about how to take care of my curls long term so I feel confident to style my hair 💖 I've gotten so many compliments on my new cut! 🥰

I had an appointment with Kim and it was incredible! Working with her was like having an individualized masterclass on how to take care of my curly hair. Kim was sensitive to the reality of how much time I put into my hair on a daily basis and created a daily routine just for me. She even sent me an individualized care guide afterwards for me to look over. I highly recommend scheduling with Kim!

Harix was amazing! As a guy with curly hair I’m always a bit apprehensive to try a new cut, but Harix listened to what I liked/didn’t like about my current haircut and came up with a cut that works really well for me. I would highly recommend to anyone, especially if you have curly hair!
