The lady is very rude I messaged her on Instagram and she denied me services because my page is a business page. She thought that I would watch her do my nails and learn how to do it and do it to other people ? My page sells lashes... I’m a certified lash tech. Nothing to do with nails. Very rude! attaching screenshots below, she said something about basement techs and called them low class and targeted girls from ages 16-19.

I am originally from NJ and was accustom of getting “Jersey” nails. When i move to Frederick two years ago, I could not find a nail salon who listened to what I wanted, took their time, and delivered. Most importantly they did not break or lift after one week. I am so happy I found this place. My nails look better then when I got them done in New Jersey. I also met the most wonderful people, Michelle and her husband, who know how to treat their customers and truly care about the service they provide. I am not going to another nail salon and I finally feel I found my “nail home” You must book your appointment right away, to truly experience “the white glove service” you will receive, especially when you compare them to the other nail salons. FANTASTIC PLACE!!!

Machelle does a wonderful job!! no matter the design she makes it happen! I also feel very safe when visiting her while covid is happening as her place is super clean and she only allows one client in at a time! She also has protecting shields up as well to enforce safety! I try to recommend her to everyone I meet!

Beautiful salon, AMAZING work, great conversation, wonderful staff, 10/10 service. UPDATE: went to request a new appointment and was blocked on Instagram. In the days leading up to this blocking, I had gotten my lashes done for the first time in my life by my friend who asked me to be a model for her cosmetology class credits, I shared what amazing work my friend did on Instagram and next thing I know. BLOCKED. (Kind of strange to me that since I ONLY go to royal couture for nails, I would be blocked for sharing lash work for my best friend, so I’m assuming it’s not because of that and if it is that’s honestly sad) ANYWAY, My fiancé attempted to reach out to royal couture for an explanation as to why I was blocked randomly after going there several times with no issues. He received no response and was left on read. I have reached out via Facebook and to Machelle’s phone number and received no response, as it seems my number is blocked now as well. Not really sure what would cause this to happen since I have been going to her since she was in that one room shop in frederick, but the least she should be able to provide is an explanation as to why I was blocked and denied services. As you can see in other reviews I am not the only person this as happened to, which makes this all the more confusing. I hoped to one day return to royal couture nails to get my wedding day nails done but am still blocked and unable to make an appointment or contact Machelle, still with no explanation or answer as to why.

I went to machelle three times and had a great experience, however when I went to book my 4th appointment on the website, I got a text saying they were unable to do the requested appointment. I tried different days/ times and still no luck booking an appointment. I then got a message on the web saying I was unable to book with this business. After many attempts to try and book an appointment, I texted machelle to let her know the issue. She first told me she wasn’t sure and it should be working. She then goes on to say she thinks it’s because she’s not providing the service right now and would text me when she starts back up. I said yes, please let me know! A few weeks went by and I decided to check her IG. When I went to my DMs and clicked on her profile, it said no posts yet, user not found. Meaning I was blocked. This is very unprofessional and unacceptable behavior for a business. Very disappointed. Do better!

I’ve never had a nail salon experience like the one at Royal Couture. I only recently got into getting manicures so I don’t know a lot about acrylic vs. gel vs. dip nails. Machelle and her husband took the time to ask me questions about my nails to find out what service would best fit me. If you are tired of the “pack them in nail salons” this place is for you.

Machelle and Michael are amazing!!! They take the time to build a connection with their clients and make sure you feel comfortable. They educated me about nail care and the materials that were used. I got a full acrylic set and I have to say it is the best set that I have ever had! Highly recommend!!!

Never showed up for my scheduled appointment. Took my deposit and left me hanging. I waited outside, called, text... no answer, no response. I'm very disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I was getting my nails done for an event and had to scramble to find a place that could fit me in. Update: two months later and they still haven't returned my deposit despite my attempts.

She refused to give me an appointment because I’m a youtuber with a verified Instagram account with a large following and falsely accused me of being an undercover nail tech and a person who is just trying to learn how to do nails.. I told her I’m not a nail tech nor am I trying to learn how to do nails, I just wanted to get my nails done because I liked her work. She continued to reject me and keeps denying me an appointment. This has never happened to me and I’m honestly so disgusted with the service. It’s so unfair how she declined my appointments because of who I am. I feel so discriminated and I feel like she violated my civil rights. I hope no one else has to go through this. -ivanitalomeli

This place is amazing. In the past, I always had problems with my acrylic nails lifting. They would only last a week or so. Since coming here I’ve never had that problem and nails always last forever. Machelle always does an amazing job on my nail art; even when I give her my wild ideas. She’s so talented and creative.

First of all, I was added in super last minute which I appreciated so much! There weren't any openings online when I went to book so I reached out through instagram and they were able to fit me in! They were so kind and precise to the photos that I sent! The place was super clean and they don't reuse any dip that they use on your hands! very sanitary! I was so happy and impressed with the quality and creativity coming from Machelle and Michael! So glad I tried them out! Now I can't go anywhere else!! Welcome to Urbana guys!

I attempted to get pricing for a set of nails I was looking for. When asked for pricing for awareness, the (I’m assuming) owner would not give me pricing for sets she has done previously. Any other nail technician I have been to in the past has been able to give pricing for previous sets. When I asked, they were very unprofessional and quite frankly rude for someone who was attempting to become a new client. It seemed as though they were under the impression I could not afford their pricing as their website explains their sets start at $70 and I was well aware of that. I do not recommend anyone to book if you are trying to gain an understanding of her costs of service. They are severely lacking in professionalism.

I was on the hunt for someone who could give me fancy, “Instagram nails” in the Frederick area and I came across Royal Couture’s profile on IG. Loved what I saw in the photos so I scheduled an appointment and there was availability the next day. Booking process was quick and easy. Small deposit required (which is standard for most high end salons). When I walked in for my appointment they were friendly, clean and covid compliant. I was thrilled and relieved when I saw all the glitter, decals, nail tip options and color choices. Seriously been looking for a place like this for months and I think I found my new nail home. The nails were exactly what I wanted. UPDATE: nails last a long time however the acrylic was too thin for my long nails so I had 2 nails break halfway down my nail bed exposing my nail beds and making it sore to the touch. Very painful. I asked her to build up the acrylic at the apex to avoid this but... If you’re looking for her to do your long nails, insist that she build up the acrylic. UPDATE #2: “Royal” Couture owner has no couthe, or customer service skills. She takes offense to constructive criticism and never once contacted me to see if I was ok or to ask how she can help with the injured nails she caused. Instead she went on a rant on social media to bash me. While getting my nails done she also told me some stories about her anger issues. She is in litigation. She also told me she tracked down a nail tech from her photos on IG! Took 3 days of her and her husband driving around Maryland to find some nail tech who wrote a bad review. The woman is seriously mental.

I've been getting my nails for over 14 years and this was by far one of the best sets I've gotten. The nails are smooth, the nail beds are even. One thing I am truly impressed with is, 2 of my natural nails had not broken and she was able to expertly sculpture them seamlessly to the rest of the set. The only factor left to be on the chopping block will be the durability hut I highly doubt these nails are going ANYWHERE!!! Thank you for your hospitality Machelle and Mike and the wonderful set. Machelle and Michael are amazing! Their salon is one on one service and they're practicing safe/sterile protocols for covid. I haven't had my nails done since the pandemic hit, but I felt completely safe in their space. Machelle is meticulous. Shaping, dip color (single use) and art are flawless. Single use files, buffers, and dip color. She worked with me and graciously extended her hours to accommodate my schedule. I wanted my nails done before seeing my family. Contactless payment. Easy online booking. Highly recommend!

Machelle and her husband Michael are absolutely amazing people! The experience in their salon is like no other, such a welcoming friendly family type vibe. Not to mention that Machelle’s skills are unmatched! She is clearly well educated and cares about the health and quality of your nails.
