WOW is how I feel every time I stop by 🤩 beautiful space, amazing offerings and friendly employees! The first time I came with a friend we got a tour and both of us were eager to book spa appointments by the end (if our budgets would have allowed at the time lol). Everything here is just amazing with many unique items I haven’t seen anywhere else. The only downside was when I last came I realized I left my wallet at home and they don’t have a tap to pay option. If I could have used ApplePay I would have had a very satisfying candle haul visit lol. It’s also really nice they have a free crystal bowl at the register, a nice gift to choose before leaving 💎

Do not stay at the ruby room. I contemplated leaving a review but as I revisited others who had terrible experiences and saw the replies from the staff at the ruby room stating that it’s hard to rectify issues when they’re not made aware in the moment.. well I’d like to state very clearly that the staff and management team of the Ruby Room were made abundantly aware in the moment of our issues during our stay and did nothing to make things right. After the hike up four floors of very steep stairs we were met with a lackluster room to say the least. It was frigid at about 50 degrees.. there were exposed wires where the smoke detector was meant to be, the door padlock was broken off exposing the batteries, the carpets were stained, the paint on the walls were chipped and the desk was still dirty with someone else’s makeup. Not to mention that the pitcher of water on the desk still had leftover water in it from the guest before us. At least that’s what I’m assuming considering there was no indication of it being fresh and clean for us? It was weird. The window sills had clearly not been dusted in a long time and the shower didn’t drain. The lights also flicker in the bathroom when you turn on the faucets. I let the Ruby Room know pretty immediately when we arrived that the room did not meet our expectations for cleanliness to which I received a text reply (text is the only way to contact anyone btw) that stated they had a temporary cleaning staff in because they are understaffed. I’m not sure there was anyone who cleaned that room… we were on vacation. I didn’t want this experience to ruin my trip so we went about our day only to find that when we returned to the room later in the afternoon our codes for the keypad no longer worked to get onto the 4th floor so we were stuck in the hallway locked out from all of our belongings. I text several times and called several times with no response until finally another guest ended up letting us in through the door. When I was finally able to get someone on the phone they suggested that perhaps I wasn’t competent enough to use the keypad. Totally downplayed my concerns and explained that all other 700 guests that day had no issues with the key pads. That’s right.. he said 700 guests. Now I’m not a rocket scientist but this is a small boutique building and there is no way that they host that many people on any given day. He also reassured me if we had issues there was another door entrance through the garden. Well just so you know they lock that gate so that was also a lie. The team at the Ruby Room did absolutely nothing to improve our stay. I will say that the next night we stayed in a different hotel, and had a much better time

Excellent customer service! Somehow they were given an old phone #, I checked an i had updated Expedia so it certainly wasn't on Ruby Room for the mishap. They were SO quick to respond and SO friendly! The only thing missing was a way to make coffee. Sure, there's places to purchase nearby, but who wants to trek the 4 flights at 4 am to see if they're open? 😀 gorgeous room, comfortable bed, heavenly shower, and walkable to The Salt Shed.

I've been coming here on and off for several years when time allows. The massages are top notch. I've had services solely with Jose up until today when I met Ron. While Jose has hands that provide the ultimate relaxation, Ron was focused today on really working some kinks out of me. It was incredible. I could hear my sinuses breaking up mucus as Ron worked my overall body. It felt like Ron was rubbing all the bad energy down from my head and out my feet and hands. I was a drooling, snotty mess after. I have resigned myself to a life rarely having clear enough sinuses to breath in through my nose with ease. How this human did what he did is next level. I will say, if you don't like that type of pressure, be sure to note that. I was fine with it. He did mention before hand he likes to really dig, so I felt mostly prepared. Both Jose and Ron are both masters of their crafts.

Meh. I can’t leave a review for a provider as i see she is no longer there. I came in looking for the one decent therapist i had before and he was also gone. It’s taken me months to write this review but felt like it was needed. I came in as a Mother’s Day gift for myself and i still feel like i wasted 400 dollars. I had a massage with a therapist (no longer there) who complained about life and sounded like a severe chain smoker. My facial was mediocre. She shrugged after I went through my facial routine and stated “yeah that sounds fine.” Then gave me a facial, no recommendations and shoo’ed me out. Disappointed even months later. I will not be going back. Prompt update! The team responded to my review in a prompt fashion! I have had many services at ruby room, they are correct. I’ve loved them all which is why this review was hard! Kate responded quickly and it was very much appreciated! Hope to stop in again soon :)

This place is great, price is crazy good for the location. Safe at night and the blue line is a <5 walk. Wifi, AC works very good. Cool little garden/courtyard in the back. You get a room code, so there no front desk check in. You just go to the door and walk in. Plus they text you so you can ask questions if needed and they respond quick which was super convenient.

I absolutely love this place omg I come on my break all the time hahaha Natalie is SUCH a sweetie pie !!! There was another young lady that helped me too I don’t know her name but she was super sweet I love you guys and I love my crystals

What a fantastic experience!!! Rossi read my tarot cards and lead a reiki session. He was empathetic, thorough in explanation and has the BEST energy. I would absolutely return!

5 stars for Ali, 10 if I could. I thought I walked in relaxed but 90 minutes of “facial” with Ali — melting into the table, my mind finally slowing — reminded me of the power of true self-care. Ali’s technique makes every gesture feel like a ritual, suggesting we are precious and loved. I’ve been a client of Ruby Room for about 12+ years and this was the most transcendent experience of all. My suggestions for a 5 star wellness experience would be self-access to water, consistent music volume, and a suggestion that others in the space use a quiet voice. I unfortunately could hear a fellow moving around the space and speaking at what felt like larger than conversational volume. The feeling of the rest of the space just didn't feel consistent, as calming and caring, with the peace inside the room with Ali. My suggestion for a 5 star business experience would be to update the website. At least on the mobile version I had a hard time finding services for “skin” (it’s so, so much more than that) without initiating the booking process. The service is AMAZING and deserves better real estate. Ali, thank you.

Best massage of my life! I cannot recommend Jose enough! Actually used technique's to help me relax instead of just telling me to relax when I tensed up. He is very knowledgeable and happy to help me understand what muscles were causing my pain. Best massage in Chicago for sure!

Excellent experience! The shop is lovely and the rooms are super relaxing and clean. I was lucky enough to work with Ron as my massage therapist, and I would absolutely recommend him--easily the best massage I've ever had!! I came in with a ton of stiffness and knots, and left feeling lighter and looser than I have felt in a loooong time! My friend also really enjoyed her massage with Jose, it made the perfect birthday gift! looking forward to coming back!!

I had an excellent massage done by Ron, as well as a Reiki treatment. I’ve been struggling with persistent back and shoulder pain for many years, and the treatment has made me feel a lot better, and increased my range of motion. This is by far one of the best massages I have had in years. I highly recommend!

Literally fell on the way to my appointment and had to go to the doc because I landed on my wrist. I let them know as I did not want to no show and asked to reschedule, they said no and proceeded to charge me 90. I used to be a loyal customer but after this never again. Real nice that this is how a "wellness spa" treats folks.

The Spa was amazing! Beautiful jewelry, stones and souvenirs. I got a Chakrassage that left me floating and feeling like I didn't want to leave. Ask for Ronald and thank me later!

They failed to charge my card in a reasonable amount of time. Months later I received the charge on my card, however assumed it was fraudulent and cancelled my card. The only way I learned that it was an authentic transaction, just months delayed was to call them. I never received an apology and am on the month long endeavor to change my card information on all my subscription payments. If you choose to use their services, do so with caution for their accounting department. This also happened to a couple close friends.
