Immediately felt a sense of peace upon entering Sacred Rain. It’s a hidden gem on the edge of Ballard and I’m so glad I stumbled upon it. Amazing massage - cannot wait to go back and explore the rest of the amenities.

Amazing little gem tucked away in Ballard. Friendly staff, clean facilities, good value.

I am only writing this review because I read some comments talking down about staff, and customer service. Completely false. I find the staff to be professional and accommodating. I enjoy the serenity of the environment and mutual respect of the customers. In today's times it's not insignificant to find more peace and safety in a clothing optional location than society itself. That's a tribute to the culture (staff) and the patrons. I also got a to die for deep tissue massage 💆♂️.

Terrible customer service from a girl in th front desk Everytime I come in, was a member there for a while supporting the place during covid ... Canceled my membership for a bit when moved out ..I decided to renew and assumed automatically that i wanted to renew for month without me saying anything, and got a passive aggressive/rude message from the receptionist... that has a hisotry of being rude before... Will never go there again even if it's free..

Had a very nice visit this evening. Staff was kind and helpful, and the facilities are a good size and very clean. Folks were definitely a lot chattier and louder than I expected, which cut into how relaxing it was otherwise. But overall very nice experience and I will be returning.

Wonderful space owned and patronized by wonderful people. Anytime life gets heavy, I stop by to chat/have a dip and cleanse myself. Can’t recommend this place enough.

I'm an aficionado of banyas and jimjilbang type spas, but needed something closer to home, so checked this out. So glad I did! Was not at all crowded late in the evening, genders were at a good ratio, noise level low. The sauna is a bit small and there's no cold pool (I understand the pool would be a huge expense) but the beautiful, relaxing deck more than makes up for the inconveniences. The entry price is a bit steep compared to spas in SF and LA, but the 10-pass is a GREAT deal, and can be shared. This might be the cleanest spa I've ever been in, and the staff are all super friendly. Looking forward to coming back on the regular!

I've visited on 3 separate occasions and every time the facilities were clean, employees were active and I felt safe; and not prejudiced. The population is generally balanced among genders and I've not witnessed any irregular behavior. The Sauna is well maintained and clean. The hot tub is well maintained and clean. Despite the hot tub sitting under shrubs and trees there isn't any foliage floating around. You can tell the owner cares about the appearance of his facilities and the reputation for cleanliness and safety. My first visit here a couple months ago I received a massage from John and it was fabulous. I'm a massage therapist myself and I'd recommend a massage from him. I do wish though there were more chaise loungers on the deck. Other than that 10/10 facilities and the friendliest people!

I’ve loved coming to sacred rain in the past, but things have really changed. For starters, it used to be $30 for a day visit. Now it’s gone up to $50 and you can only stay for 3hrs max! I understand their costs are likely rising and they need to manage how crowded the deck gets, but what I used to love about this place was its relative affordability compared to other day spas - I used to come once a week, now maybe only once every 6 months :/ Also what’s changed, there are wayyyyy too many single men here clearly trying to check women out. I came here with my gf and we had to leave after an hour because of all the men eyeing her. The space itself is still very clean, nicely maintained, and perfectly set up. I love the concept of a coed clothing optional spa - common in many other parts of the world, but perhaps there are too many creepy men in America for this to work in a way where women feel safe :/ I’ll likely still visit sacred rain, but only on rare occasion and without my gf.

Sacred Rain just completed this beautiful new mural on their building and while it is gorgeous - what's really special about this place is what's inside. They have a stunning sanctuary with co-ed clothing optional space appointed with immaculate showers and locker facilities and an outdoor space with dry sauna, outdoor cooling showers and in-ground hot tub. For those sunny days there are deck chairs and chaise loungers where you can soak in the sun, read your favorite book or connect with friends, family and other guests. It's a contemplative space where you can escape from the world and relax, recharge and feel revitalized. All are welcome in this non-sexualized space. It not just feels safe it is safe. Those brothers and sisters of mine that are queer and trans are always welcome. The are many open-minded allies that always are kind, supportive and accepting. I have taken advantage of classes - they have a great meditation class it the inside upstairs community space. I have see many of the massage therapists and while Renatta and Eric are my personal faves...you cannot get a bad massage here. Open. Discreet. Friendly. Loving. When in Ballard (visiting or outside the area) or if you are local this is a special place and it, indeed, feels sacred. Which is they Sacred Rain is such an inspired name for this amazing space and the services they provide!

The other reviews are right, HORRIBLE customer service both from the front desk staff and the manager. They're so busy "priding" themselves, they can't see what's right in front of them- customers they're putting off left and right. Just because you "pride" yourself on something doesn't mean it's true! In fact, it means you're not listening to people. Truly condescending and aloof to me and my guests and we gave them multiple chances. They get especially cold if you seem excited or exuberant at all, so make sure you're totally deadpan and drained of all life when you approach. Do NOT go for any kind of celebration, the looks and awkward convo from the staff will wither happiness immediately. We were absoutely not loud or raucous, not asked to leave, just...bummer type people running the place. Great example of putting the wrong people in the front end of your business. Time for a purge!

After coming here regularly for about a year, I got the opportunity to work as a spa attendant and not only has my experience working here been some of the best, the owner, John, has gone above and beyond to give me time off for knee surgery, and to accommodate me doing light duty until I was ready to go back into the full flow of things. And not even a month later he allows me to take two months off for another job opportunity. I came back a few weeks ago and I was welcomed back with open arms. I genuinely enjoy coming in on my days off to use the deck, knowing how much work is put into keeping it clean and safe. Of course nothing on earth is perfect, but this place is pretty close.

My partner and I really like the concept behind this (C/O mixed gender spa), but it still has a bit to go before getting a fifth star. The facilities are clean and well maintained, but a bit cramped (the single sauna is just too small to accommodate everyone at times). It would be nice if there were a sauna clock or sand timers in the sauna too (typical in European saunas for safety concerns). Also, there can be a lack of available seating outside... especially if you want a sunbed. With regards to etiquette, they give you a thin wrap and a single towel for your visit. We chose not to cover up with either during our visit, since it seems silly. However, it would be nice if they had a rule mandating shower shoes/slides when using the facility. Also, though people did sit/lie on their towels, there were lots of bare skin on the sauna benches and sun beds; my wife laid down to work on her tan, only to complain that the cushion smelled like feet. Another problem was that people frequently entered the sauna only minutes after someone else had; this lowers the temperature and is poor sauna etiquette. As far as atmosphere is concerned, it was 80% single males...which seems to be the norm when it comes to social nudity in the U.S. Not to say that single males are a problem per se, but rather the ratio certainly could make females uncomfortable and is certainly not Sacred Rain's fault. All this said, will be returning!

This is co-ed but just to say it was all male patrons when I went. Being the only woman was uncomfortable so I left after the hour. The sauna is small. Glad guys have a place to unwind - we all need it! I might just stick to the Ladies Room up in Greenwood.

Well.... since you asked I will gladly expand on the 1 star rating. You have a policy of canceling straight men for doing absolutely nothing wrong! So I would happily worn ALL straight men to avoid going here! Please may this be your warning! You canceled my partner of 24 years because of a lie from an angry man-hating Karen! You even told him that you believed he did nothing wrong but canceled him anyways?! If this is a tolerant "healing" center than siding with an older lady that vocally talks about hating men in the steam room over someone that was simply being nice and taken the wrong way. The lady that was the original issue obviously has emotional and mental health problems with men. All he did wrong was give her trip advice for her and her girlfriend to do on an island that we know a lot about and love! After that the moment she lost it was at the group meditation where the meditation guide had the group hold hands and it happened to be a...... wait for it....... man (my partner) next to her. That catalyst that she lost it and started false rumors (aka lies) about him was on you guys. Anyone would have clearly seen that he had nothing to do with her or "Karen's" problems. You saw it clearly too, but you canceled him anyways! A happy customer that spent thousands of dollars to you, came there for 2 1/2 years, never did anything wrong, no complaints and promoted your business! I waited to say anything hoping you would make it right, its been 4 months and there were nothing but crickets! What kind of healing center is this that allows angry women to openly talk about hating half the population in a "sacred healing center" and then cancel that which they hate because you care more about you money than a loyal customer! Only 1 lady stopped showing up months prior to you cancelingmy boyfriend, the meditation lady that has major mental issues, no others stopped coming to your location. Man-hating 'Karen' started spreading the rumors but still continued to show up. The other 2 clucking hens paddle board with the liar and are victims to (not my boyfriend, but the mental patient that can't be in a room with men, and gets off on being a victim). Again..... never doing anything wrong except for being a male at you facility. That is exactly why you are a 1 star business! You could have made this right. Everyone else that was a regular knew he was innocent. A few even cried that you kicked him out as he was a friend to many. He has NEVER disrespected women, and has often stood up for them above and beyond! Good luck to you and all those contemplating going to this business who are men!

My favorite place in Seattle :)

This is one the best places in Seattle! The staff are incredible and helpful, the body workers all bring their unique magic, and the management is always working to make sure people feel safe and supported. I started coming here shortly after losing my father and it’s been so healing for my grief process <3 I’m truly so impressed by how this business is run it feels like such a gem.

I used to love this place and encouraged friends and visitors to go. Unfortunately the last time I came, the receptionist was terribly rude to us. Additionally, the sauna had an off smell this occasion. Sadly, I won't be coming here anymore. The sauna could have been a one off, but particularly put off by the bad vibes in reception; for a place that used to be a healing center to me it really felt off. EDIT: the manager sent us a heartfelt email after this review and offered a refund. was appreciated and feeling more positivity. will likely return :) adjusting my review from 1 to 4 stars.

Amazing experience with the kindest staff. Thank you very much!

Amazing place! Co-Ed and clothing optional which I adjusted to faster/more easily than anticipated. Quiet is encourage but soft conversations in sauna and spa etc is fine. Gets very busy on Fri/Sat/Sun afternoons so plan accordingly. 10-use punch card is a great deal.

Beautiful setting and even got some sun on the deck in December.

This has to be one of the best saunas and spa that I’ve been. I was not expecting it to have all the services they have and in the open. I highly recommend this amazing sanctuary to come and get some sun rays in the open while relaxing in the jacuzzi or sauna! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place offers the dream patio, a patio I'd like to recreate for my own home: outdoor hot tub and sauna, many potted plants including trees, plenty of places to sit and cool off or just chill when the weather is fine. Inside, there are cozy places to relax after the sauna and drink tea especially the giant bean bags that defy you to sit for just a moment before heading out. You didn't know you'd be taking a nap when you plopped down but 40 minutes later... lol! It attracts a chatty crowd. I could do with it being a bit quieter but my partner and I go here together and nobody shushes us when we're chatting quietly with each other. I would like to add that the environment feels respectful and people behave with consideration of others (aside from noise levels in the evening but that's a time of day thing). Spa employees are constantly cleaning and tending all the areas. I feel completely safe here. At $45/ visit, you don't have access to the wide variety of pools and hot rooms that Olympus Spa has for the same price, but it's not gender-restricted like Olympus. You get way more at Sacred Rain than Sauna Hut which is overpriced considering the lack of hot pools or even showers. I haven't had any of the services here so I can't speak to those. I love this place! I think it's great!
