Don’t waste your time!! I had booked an appointment for 11am and same day as my appointment it was changed by stylist to 12:30pm. I got there on time no one was there I waited 5 minutes and then called the salon. Someone picked up I told her what was goin on she proceeded to say she will call me back… So I wait for a call back I get a text saying the booking app is down and they never seen my appointment can I come at 4pm…… Mind you on my email it said appointment wad rescheduled by stylist. Very disappointed

MY APPOINTMENT WAS CHANGED 10mins before and I drove 30 mins . Very unprofessional, very rude, had an attitude, didn’t even greet me when I walked in. They do not care about their clients, do not book with them!

I requested the bob butterfly locks but the stylist Nicole W. didn't know how to do them without crochet locks. Wasn't aware of the hair needed until the day of the appt. Had to cut 5 inches of my own hair off because the lock hair was so tangled and knotted with my own hair.

You know I really don’t appreciate people who are just unnecessarily rude to customers. Nicole at this salon was not very kind or polite. I just don’t understand why. I don’t allow anyone to touch my crown whose energy is off. Peace and Blessings to you and I really hope you learn to treat others the way you would like to be treated.

righhhttt imagine booking an appointment just to get there and the store to be randomly closed down for some odd reason.. i put down a $25 deposit fee, had to call up there multiple times just to not even get my full refund. maybe let us know if you guys are not available so i wouldn’t be wasting my gas and time, poor business tbh..

I was looking forward to patronizing with this salon unfortunately that was derailed by lack of professionalism. I scheduled an appointment after 7pm on there website in which it stated if making appointments after hours book for after 10am. I proceeded and saw their only availability was with stylist Nicole at 8am, 8:30am & 9am. So I booked for 8:30 after arriving I waited over an hour contacted their customer service line and spoke to 3 representatives who would try to contact the stylist. The stylist responded and said she apologized and could reschedule for the following day because she already started her day. No problem, she scheduled the appointment for 10am & that she would notify me if she finished her first client before then so I could possibly come earlier. At 6:45 am the following day the stylist sends a text message asking if I could come to their Newport News location @ 9:30. I reside in the VA beach area, I had a scheduled sitter for my toddler slated to come at 9:30. I explained this to the stylist who continued to text me at before 7am at approximately 7:15 am. She then responded that she is short staff (although I understand that is solely not my problem when you’re running a business and schedule appointments for clients based on your availability). Additionally instead of trying to accommodate for the mishap on their part, she quickly stated I can return your deposit if you can’t come to Newport News by 9:30 in which she had already canceled the appt when I asked how do I retrieve my refund today as I have to find a last minute same day appointment nearly impossible, due to me going on vacation tomorrow morning. She rudely stated for me to contact my bank. Extremely disappointed and hope that no one else has to experience this at this salon.

Originally had appointments for me and my daughter at S.A.G.E last Saturday for 10am and 12pm for knotless braids under the butt length and shoulder length butterfly locs for my daughter.Nicole texted me to reschedule and come in at 5am to the Masusu Kinks salon. I got there at 5am and she did me and my daughters hair and was finished by 8am. What would’ve been a 8 hour hair appointment at our normal salon Nicole did In 3 hours and did a excellent job. I will definitely be booking with her again in the future.

So disappointing. I decided on this salon based on a recommendation from a friend. My first visit was awesome. I was serviced by Brie. She was professional, easy to talk to etc. etc. etc. Now on to the 2nd and 3rd visit. I was informed via email 2 days prior to my appt with Brie that now my appt would be with Nicole. I wasn't happy but decided to keep the appt. Mistake. She was over 40 mins late after notifying me at 7:50 (my appt was at 8:00) that she was having car trouble. Not sure when she actually started to make her way to the salon but ok things happen. While waiting I see that there was someone else waiting as well. hmmmm I thought to myself how close did she book her next appt. We all walk in once she unlocks the door. She then asks our names and then proceeds to tell us how much it is going to be. Okay I have never paid for a service before receiving it. What if I don't like it? She proceeded to wash my hair super quick and re twist it even faster. While doing my hair she indicated that could benefit from a detox. I was cool with that and said ok I will consider it. By the way I left no top because there was no excuse my lateness nothing. Against my better judgement I went back for a 3 and final visit. Again 8:00 appt and I couldn't get an appt with Brie :( Nicole again was late. Again no apologies for being late opens door asks for money. I was getting multiple services to include the detox. Again partial way through the detox another client walks in. Again rush job with washing and twisting. It is so disappointing because I like the environment and location but the salon lacks professionalism. I don't mind paying a deposit but can you just make a flat deposit instead of a deposit for each service. If the service is to protect your time what about the client's time. My time is just as important as yours but can the client get a credit when you are running late. I will say that I did get a discount on my last visit because she did not have any change and I had just stopped to the ATM. My hair really doesn't look like it has been done at all. I guess I will be going some where else in another week or so. siggghhhh.

They are not very consistent with their customers. You won't be put as first priority whatsoever. I even did as much as referred my sister to this place and she was completely left without a stylist without any reason it don't waste your time search the reviews thoroughly when looking for places in the Hampton roads area these people I forgotten courtesy and customer service

I took buddy RJ to get that fresh cut from one of my home town friends/brother/family from GA and RJ Nor myself were disappointed. Joshua Ingram took his time and had my buddy looking like new money! The female stylists were polite yet focused on their clients and the finished products that I was able to see before leaving had me taking a few cards to schedule my future appointment. Check out the lounge. It’s laid back and you won’t be disappointed!

Its a great place to get your hair done whether get Locs, Braids & or Weaves. The wonderful ladies will have u covered and coming out looking and feeling great. My 2nd time n I am so grateful for Sherry keeping my hair back pretty.
