I was in a total hair funk. Used to do blonde balayages but felt like the blonde was too harsh on my hair especially after having a baby. I went and saw Crystal and she mixed up the PERFECT color for me. I never thought I would be a brunette but I am so happy I trusted Crystal. She has brought my hair and me back to life! Absolutely amazing!

Went to the Dilworth location after just moving to Charlotte, and I can not speak more positively about my experience with Allie B! Not only do I love my full highlight, she was very nice and fast for how much hair I have. She specializes in vibrant colors but has also mastered blonde coloring as well. Thank you!

I live in Atlanta, but I happened to be in town on business. I found this salon on Google and gave them a try. I am SO happy I did. The staff are friendly and amazing. They really want you to leave happy with your hair. I had the pleasure of having Ragan as my stylist, and I plan on going back as long as I'm in town. Overall fantastic experience!

I recently came in for a pretty big project. I wanted to take my hair platinum, and I knew it would take serious time, energy, and effort. I came to Salon 42 after seeing Sam Lawrence’s work, and he gave me the hair of my dreams. I couldn’t be more happy with his service, the results, and his professionalism. I can’t recommend him enough. My hair is so beautiful, I’m speechless.

I spent 3 years when I moved to Charlotte trying to find a salon and this one was it finally! Prices are reasonable/comparable and the staff have always been so friendly!

I was very disappointed with the service I received here. I went in for a balayage and it looked fine except she made the left side significantly lighter than the right side. I called a week later because the color had lightened to practically blonde (I have black hair) and asked for them to just fix the left sided patch which looked terrible. A week later they got me in but she just ended up dying my entire hair extremely dark despite me saying I liked the color in the back, just wanted that left sided patch fixed. I spent $240 for it to look like I did nothing to my hair. They just dismissed my concern when I said she went too dark even though I kept asking her. I'm disappointed in their service and lack of offering any compensation. $240 and 6 hours of my time, absolutely absurd!! Would not recommend.

I went and saw Sam Lawrence with just a general idea of what I wanted and he totally brought it to life!! He was so knowledgeable about every step and talked me through everything! I will definitely be going back and can’t recommend him enough

I’m in love! I had been recommended Salon 42 by multiple people and I am so unbelievably happy with my hair. Sam (who was recommend to me) made me feel like the main character! I only showed him two pictures and briefly described what I was looking for and he just knew! I felt so comfortable and he went over everything with me with such confidence and knowledge which is what I’ve been looking for. His color work had me staring in the mirror and the cut is so much what I needed. Plus, it was on my birthday and Sam and Salon 42 set my celebration off! I found my salon and , thankfully, Sam. My hair is gorgeous!

I’ve been hesitant to try a new salon but decided to give this place a try. I went with an Associate stylist Ragan to get a simple cut and face framing layers, and she did a fantastic job! They offered a glass of wine while I was waiting, the cut turned out great and the service was amazing, would absolutely return.

Love my haircut by Jacob! He is super friendly and knows how to do natural looking layers. I am usually pretty picky so happy my hair turned out so nice :) will definitely be back!

This salon is full of such friendly staff and they go above and beyond to make clients feel comfortable! Lauren H. is one of the best stylists I have ever known! Her professionalism, colorful personality, and humor makes every visit fun! 10/10 recommend!

I am the worst person for a stylist to work with. I was so overly anxious and worried and exactly as predicted - once I got home I LOVED my hair. Paige was amazing and I came to her totally at random and am glad I went ahead and booked another appointment. I have received so many compliments and I love my hair.

I made a last minute decision to have a haircut. I got lucky,Amanda had time for me the same day. Receptionist was very nice and friendly and Amanda’s work with my hair behind expectations. I am happy I was here. Thank you for a nice time ladies!🌺

I tried to book an appointment with them however I was rescheduled not once not twice BUT THREE TIMES! The first time I got the excuse of “a new hairstylist double booked you on top of another client” okay that already kind of put a bad taste in my mouth. The next time I got asked to move my appointment with no explanation. I said FINE. Again very annoyed at this point & could tell management was not doing a good job. Then the THIRD time someone texted me THE DAY OF MY APPOINTMENT to try to reschedule my appointment to a time that was 2 hours earlier than my appointment & was only giving me an hour to arrive & I was coming all the way from Rock Hill, SC. So after that I canceled my appointment. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT & CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Lost a client before I even got the chance to try your salon out!!

I was finally ready to go gray and had a consult with Don. I made an appointment right then and am so glad I did. Don added babylights to my dark blonde (colored) hair that are absolutely beautiful. It subtly mixes grey/white/blonde color that lets my white roots grow out without the harsh line between color and no color. Plus it lasts for 6-8 weeks! Ever so slowly my grey will become predominant but this eases the transition beautifully. A gloss treatment and cut finished out my session. Im so happy with the outcome! Thank you Don.

This Salon 42 location is welcoming, clean, and so hospitable. They have a front desk attendant who checks you in and asks if you’d like a drink while you wait for your stylist which is so nice! More specifically, I cannot say enough good things about their stylist, Crystal Correa. I’ve been coming to her for months now, after finding her work on Instagram. She is truly a magician when it comes to color correcting (someone else’s poor work) and vivids. More importantly, she takes the time to listen and is a kind soul. If you’ve been burned in the past by other salons and in need of some TLC, or if you need someone who is excellent and knowledgeable with vivid colors, then you need to see Crystal!

I really didn't want to write this review because the people here are so nice. But my hair got ruined here. I came for a balayage. My hair wouldn't lift so the stylist left the bleach on for a LONG time especially under the heat. My hair was fried afterwards but I didn't think much of it. Fast forward the next few weeks it was breaking off so bad. I used good salons sulfate free shampoo, deep conditioner, and olaplex and it still was breaking. I had to cut almost 5 inches off. All of my long hair is gone:( I would not recommend any of my friends or family to come here, and I deeply regret choosing this salon.
