My experience with Shantel was amazing! I came in as a walk in after seeing the salon’s page on Instagram. I also purchased the bundles on site. I was immediately sat in the chair and we had a mini consultation on what I wanted to do with my hair. Shantel gave me the best scalp massage I have had in a very long time while shampooing and conditioning my hair. She was not rough and took her time working the products through my hair. I am often hesitant at the blow drying process because some stylist can be pretty careless with detangling and heat. I was very happy with how she managed my hair while in the wet and dry state. My braids were nice, flat and not bulky at all. The bundles were in a great state and gave me thickness and volume. The hair keep the curls and Shantel gave me layers that helped frame the front of my face. I was very happy with the entire process and will be back in the chair soon!

I’ve been getting my hair done by Alana for years, and I’m beyond proud to see her open her own salon! The entire team is so friendly, and the ambiance is amazing. They offer drinks and snacks, which is such a nice touch. Alana always does an incredible job on my hair—she never disappoints. Plus, the bundles are top-notch—definitely a 10/10!

I had the best experience at Salon 527. The staff was super welcoming and accommodating. Shantel did my lace front install and she is absolutely amazing! When I arrived to my appointment, I addressed a few of my concerns regarding my scalp and overall hair condition (I hadn’t been to a professional salon in over a year). Not only did Shantel provide great hair care tips, she also gave my hair a thorough wash. My install turned out so beautiful. I received many compliments. So glad I found this salon. I’ll definitely be returning soon.

I had the pleasure of getting serviced by Ami for my birthday hairstyle. I requested a half up, half down and she delivered exceptionally. Upon arrival, I was immediately greeted by the ladies at the front and offered donuts and a mimosa. The atmosphere was very calming and friendly which made my first time experience at Salon 527 a wonderful one. Thank you again Ami, I'll see you again soon!

Went into the shop thinking I was booked with another stylist and ended up getting my hair done by Ami and I’m super glad. So professional and super thorough. From the braids to the layers to the curls she did amazing. 10/10! She will definitely make sure you get your moneys worth.

I love Salon 527! The perfect mix of luxury and convenience, which is exactly what I need. As a very Type B girly, I appreciate being able to walk in without an appointment and still receive top-tier service. I’m always skeptical about getting my hair washed at a salon because I know healthy hair starts at the bowl, but this wash was amazing—all my concerns were addressed, and I even got a free conditioning treatment. Also, let me just say—I did NOT come in prepared. My last quick weave cap was still on, and they still got me right with no judgment. The vibes are immaculate, the team is sweet and talented, and the energy is so welcoming. ✨ Now, let’s talk about Shannon—she slayed my hair!! She didn’t just understand my vision, she elevated it. At first I was unsure. First salon I went to that ask for money upfront and it was a Sunday LOL!! Anyway Shantel was the stylist that serviced my hair and when I tell you ate down, she did, NO CRUMBS LEFT!! She was engaging, educating and honest. I was in bad shape. She even told me no more leave out, and suggested treatment and a break maybe even braids oh and a closure(hate them)Not to many stylist care enough to tell you some just see $$. The owner was nice too. Over all good vibe and nice people. I may have found a place in Charlotte to stay. Oh yall shampoo was included# ISSA WIN!!!

I think I’ve finally found my stylist in Charlotte! For years I’ve gone to a Dominican salon whether back home in NY or someone here in Charlotte which has been a struggle to say the least. But when I stumbled upon Salon 527 I knew I found my spot. Not only was I able to come in and get my hair done if I wanted but I could purchase hair directly from the salon. Shantel was the one to do my sew in and when I tell you BEST SEW IN EVER!! She truly knows what she’s talking about and doing when it comes to hair. From wash, braid down (which is usually my least favorite part) and just the blend with my own hair it came out amazing. It wasn’t bulky or anything looked like it was growing out of my scalp. Can’t wait to go back in for maintenance and future hairstyles. Can’t thank Shantel and Ashley (front desk staff) enough for not only an amazing experience but for taking care of my hair in not only a timely manner but making me look flawless for my birthday and beyond. I’ll be back soon!

Ami ATE DOWN! I booked their traditional sew-in and purchased three Salon527 24 inch bundles. I came in the previous day to see if I could schedule an appointment and upon walking in, I met with the manager at the front desk. Very much friendly and knowledgeable. She’s about her business! I told her what I wanted and she assured me the available stylist would be able to make my vision come to life. I asked about their bundles and they had display bundles available to see. The hair was beautiful! Raw and full to the ends. No shedding whatsoever. I paid my deposit and booked my appointment. Upon coming in for my appointment the next day, I was greeted very warmly and the energy in the shop was full. Booked and busy. I filled out paperwork, and was offered a mimosa among other snacks and drinks. The shop is very aesthetically pleasing, feminine and minimalistic. Selfies and content would be so nice in here. Ami wasted no time getting me in her chair and accessing my hair. She gave me a great shampoo, massaged my scalp and nape too good. She laid my hair and bundles seamlessly with a FLAT braid down and executed exactly what I wanted. Also, my hair isn’t too tight with a sew-in which can be difficult for my thick hair. This hair looks like it’s straight from my scalp. During the entire service the staff made me feel warm and welcome and kept me cracking up the entire time. It felt like the salons back in the day my auntie used to go to. 10/10 experience and worth every dime.

This is a very nice salon and they have hair on hand. I would call before coming in if you want to purchase hair because they didnt have the hair i wanted on hand. I would also book someone you know and trust, but they do accept walk ins. I was a walk in, very nice people; they have snacks, drinks, and good music. I only leave one star because my stylist didnt properly wash my hair and my silk press doesnt look good. for $125 i was a little underwhelmed but i truly appreciate the staff for a nice experience!

After reading the reviews about this salon, I was hesitant to come in, but I’m so glad I did. This place gives off that old-school salon vibe where you can just walk in and get taken care of. I understand why some people might be upset about the wait time, but the stylists clearly prioritize making sure everyone loves their hair, and I appreciate that. Personally, the wait time wasn’t crazy to me. Overall, the atmosphere and the people were fantastic, and I absolutely love my hair!

I recently visited 527 Salon, and it’s redefining salon culture. The atmosphere was welcoming, with drinks and snacks provided. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I love the flexibility to walk in or make an appointment, and they have hair available on hand. It’s a rare combination of great service, quality, and accessibility.

I try to support black owned businesses but I will not be returning here. I waited all day to get my hair done for my service to be stopped mid style because the OWNER was having some “boy issues”.My closure was bleached too long so I have a blonde/orange streak on my entire closure while I have black hair installed. The salon staff called and texted me to offer me a free service due to my experience. I will never go back or recommend anyone I know to.

Truthfully, I read all the one star reviews and I will sum it up to their same experience. The younger receptionist stared at me blankfully, I thought maybe they were new & untrained but it really gave she didn’t gaf. I just didn’t feel welcomed. It took a while to get me started but granted it’s the holidays and I was walk-in so I give grace towards that. My washer/braider was very sweet and the only person to attempt to make me feel comfortable s/o to her. The rest of the experience was a little physically rough, rude, and rushed towards the end. Some of the employees seemed to be working/focused on their friends more than others. The new receptionist that replaced the other was a sweetheart. But I understand the staff was busy and may have been tired so I give them grace because you can’t be happy 24/7, just not my favorite experience nor luxury. The experience was not worth what I paid..the hair quality is just okay as well. My hair took 5 hours for a quick weave…they told me 2 at most on the phone. ⭐️Lastly, I’m pretty quiet but I peep a lot. Pretty sure a lot (not all) of the higher star reviews are just people they know personally or work there. No shade.

The staff and layout was very professional and NOT filled with a bunch of drama Queens/Kings which was great. I was SLAYEDDDDD by Legend and not only was I able to buy my wig there (thank you Lee), but Legend also colored my hair this amazing color while I was still in his chair. If you're looking for stylist check out Salon 527, you won’t be disappointed.
