Best hairdresser in JAX. Went to multiple salons before this one and my hair continued to break. Ever since I started with Angella at Salon 718 my hair has sprouted. Her silk press game in phenomenal and it lasts until my next 2 week appointment!!!! Baby stay laid!!!!! You want your hair healthy, sprouting, and laid to the Gods see Angella!!

This is my forth time getting japanese hair straightening with angella. Before my hair was very curly with a lot of shrinkage and extremely frizzy. This serve has been heaven sent. my hair is so much easier to manage and is super shiny. plus she is very informative and will give you loads of advice on how to take hair of your hair. the service takes about 3 hours and she is always on time.

Angela has been my stylist several years now and I am amazed at her work. I have natural hair and get silk presses monthly now. Each press lasts me until my next visit about 4 weeks. It has been my go to protective style and has made my life much easier. Highly recommend if you want manageable and healthy natural hair.

I have gotten Japanese Hair Straightening done with Angella 4 times now. It comes out perfect every single time and Angella is always so sweet and careful with my hair. I will not be going to any other place to get this treatment done!!

I have been a client with Angella now for about two years. My hair has never been more healthy! My hair is so thick and it is NOWHERE NEAR brittle as it was when I first met her! We agreed to go natural and I love the results. However, my hair would kink up soooo bad as soon as water hit it. Angella recommended getting a texturizer and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh my God.....my hair has been so much more manageable in a natural state!! Literally night and day! Like I can literally "COMB IT". I recommend Angella for anyone who is seeking hair care services. Angella is very professional and competent in hair care. Not to mention, the salon has a very peaceful vibe. I will NEVER SWITCH to another stylist. My hair journey has been the phenomenal with her help!

If you are looking for someone to grow your hair to its best condition, come to Angella. She is the best stylist I’ve had in a long time. She prioritizes hair health in here! She does very even application relaxer. In less than a year, my hair has grown more than 4 inches. This is the most hair retention I’ve experienced. I always let her trim my hair when she says it’s time. She wants your hair to GROW, so she only takes off what she needs to. You have to work in tandem with your stylist. If they say you need to get a protein treatment, GET ONE. Need a trim? Get one. If you want to do better care of your hair in between appointments with her, ask her what products she recommends. If she doesn’t think it’s time for color, don’t get one. If you want to see your hair density increase, your length retain….seriously, come see her. She is a trust worthy and awesome beautician.

I’ve been to Angella twice for Japanese hair straightening & both times the results were fantastic. I’ve been having Japanese straightening done for over 20 years & can confidently say Angella knows what she’s doing. The natural texture of my hair is very coarse & kinky This is the only treatment that works on my texture. This is a permanent straightener & requires touch up to the new growth/roots. I’ve learned that it’s important to work with a skilled stylist who knows not only the correct application & techniques but also knows how the client’s hair responds to the processing to avoid any issues. This treatment is far less damaging than other straighteners & doesn’t contain formaldehyde! The results are perfectly straight, soft, smooth, shiny, healthy hair. Not only do I highly recommend Angella, I drive 90 minutes each way to see her twice a year!

Great experience! I will keep coming back. My hair and I get pampered. Got a silk press and styling at the end. It lasts so long! Shampooing was on point and so relaxing, I was almost asleep. Salon is clean with updated equipment and a relaxing vibe. Love it every time.

I just called in to this place on a sunday, it clearly says OPEN and closes at 2pm. While calling I asked if they had availability for just a wash and a trim and the lady on the other line said not today, we’re not really working today.. please do better!

Unfortunately I have to say that my experience was not great at all. I came in for a finger wave style which I was not able to get because I was told my hair texture would not work and that understandable. But the service received was terrible. I was told that she could press my hair and then curl it to look like finger waves but that was not done at all. My hair was just washed no conditioner and hand blow dried and just flat iron no style no hair spray Nothing. I was told ok that's it. I prepaid $60.00 online and was highly disappointed.

Angela is the best stylist in Jacksonville! I have been living in Jacksonville for almost 2 years, trying to find a stylist I can stick with.I have natural hair and get silk press.I like my hair styled with curl so it has body and will drop as days go by. I like my hair being straight like when I had a relaxer.My job consists of lifting boxes so I have to put my hair up.My curls and hair are still straight after work. My hair has lasted in humidity ,rain, heavy winds . My first appointment was November 3,2023.I have been coming every 2-3 weeks ever since! My hair is healthy ,and when she trimmed as needed. The salon is clean ,Angela is professional and on time!

BUYER BEWARE. TL;DR version: Make sure that you see and understand every product and the amount of heat applied. Otherwise there is a chance that your hair will be irreversibly altered. Full version: I made a same day first time client appointment that morning but when I arrived I was informed by Angela that the stylist I booked with wasn’t there. It was a last minute appointment and I just wanted a blow out and a trim so I went with it. Big mistake. After a shampoo I was told I was receiving a detox treatment and then hydration. This is consistent with what the site said so I thought nothing of it. Angela finished with a blow dry, flat iron and less than a hair cut but maybe more than a trim (which again, was fine - I knew my ends were rough). The amount of time they said the service would take matched the website exactly and my hair was done. Great. Fast forward to two weeks later (which was unusual in and of itself because I normally can’t keep my hair straight for more than a week even using heat tools, but excluding my edges the blowout hung into there) - I wet my hair and it doesn’t curl. Surely shampoo will remove whatever sealed my hair from Florida humidity and the dry shampoo I’d used. It did not. I condition and get the softest wave. Hoping that I missed something, I reached out to Angela to ask if there was specific recommended maintenance and what products she used. I even asked if I need to make an appointment to return to discuss and, since I do work out a bit and she emphasized that the sweat can wreak havoc on your hair, what the “detox” product was. I don’t know about you, but I found it very concerning that she would, and still has not shared what was put into my hair but it was definitely something chemical. If you want a keratin or Japanese straightener go for it. I did not, which I shared with Angela (as well how I had to grow my hair out several years ago because of a bad keratin treatment). I can’t in good faith recommend this stylist for a curly cut, her silk presses are beautiful which initially attracted me but I would choose a stylist whose niche is curly cuts. I communicated at the beginning of the service that my biggest concern was making sure my ends were healthy and if shape could be added that would be a plus but okay if it could not be achieved during the first visit. Being new to wash and go’s, I came with questions as the service list said there would be education but I received no real answers to my questions nor any instruction on how to style my hair at home between visits. After the wash and condition, I reiterated my desires for my hair and I was told I would have to choose one or the other and that she had already cut some of my hair during her initial assessment before the wash, without any discussion or consent from me, I was in shock. I still reiterated that I wanted a healthy ends and she was insistent and picked up a piece of hair and just cut it again without consent which eliminated all trust which is key with any stylist. Needless to say my ends are still tangling and after already spending so much, I have to get this cut corrected by someone else.

I keep forgetting to write a review when I come here but here we go :) I have been coming to Angela since 2020 and have never looked back!! Every time I get her detox/hydrate hair silk pressed by Angela I am always satisfied! She is the most detailed/ fastest I have experienced. I remember getting one on a rainy/humid day and I swear my hair did not even frizz.. it was like magic and then on top it the quality of the silk press lasted me over a week, still flowy, no frizz and hydrated! Also with the hydrate/detox treatment my scalp/hair has never felt so clean and light ever !! I’m telling sometimes I forget to sleep with a head wrap and it still feels great in the morning. I have been to other salons and as soon as I step out of the salon my hair immediately frizzes up and lasts me maybe 2-3 good days and then right back to heavy and weighed down. In addition, the great thing about it is that my natural hair is never damaged when I wash it out, my texture comes right back out as if nothing happened. I have come to Angela for color also and it is perfection, she is a color expert and my highlights blend in seamlessly because she is very meticulous and detailed. Highly recommend! You are dealing with a professional ☺️!

I went for Japanese hair straightening treatment, she did 2 times **** with an extra charge****still unable get the results, she blamed my hair not her treatment. I don’t recommend!!!

I've been coming here for about 3 years and my hair has never been longer and healthier. I started coming in 2020 with relaxed hair, and since then I've been able to grow out my relaxer and still keep my heat trained hair. My hair started at my shoulders and is now to my mid back. Angela is an excellent stylist with years of experience in all hair types and she can help you set and achieve your hair goals.

Moved to Saint Augustine and haven’t been able to find a salon that cares for black hair. This is not only 30 min away from me but my experience here was amazing. Angella did my silk press and it turned out amazing and has me feeling great for my birthday. Very laid back vibes and down to earth. Enjoyed the environment and the music! Not sure where a lot of these negative reviews are coming from but I’m glad I gave it a try. I will definitely be back.

Rude. Called for the price of a wash cut and dry and was told rudely “I’m in the middle of something right now, you can just go on the website and check” Update: Please read her RUDE responses. As well as her rude responses to other low stars, including ones where customers were outwardly made fun of for their hair length, or ruining their hair. Unprofessional isn’t the only thing this person is.

This review is specific to the braid extension service offered by Victoria. I had an appointment scheduled for 9:00 am; she arrived at the salon at 9:57 am. In addition to her being late, the other stylist called her multiple times to figure out her estimated arrival time. Instead of calling back, she texted the stylist and told her I needed to have hair for my service, which was not listed under the small knotless braid section of the website (which is now listed because of my service I assume.) I managed to go to a hair store that opened at 9:30 am, and it was a 20-minute ride back and forth, and I still made it to the salon before she arrived. When she arrived, she did not explain her delay or offer compensation. In addition to her being late, the service states that for the style, it would take 6 hours; it, however, took 8 hours and 45 minutes for her to complete the style. The stylist was rough combing through my hair and was yanking and pulling through knots she created trying to part my hair. The parts were very clean. The braids could have been better quality despite the service taking this long. Many of the starts of the braids need to be more balanced and smooth. None of the braids are braided to the end of their length, which doesn't make sense with how long the service took. The stylist needed to improve with starting off the braids because she struggled to feed in the extensions, and many needed to be neater. For the price paid ($260), the length of time to complete the style, the quality of the style, and the fact that the stylist was late, I am dissappointed in the overall service and would not reccomend coming to this stylist for braid extensions.

When I moved to Jacksonville I had no one to do my hair and I had gotten pregnant and my hair was so damaged from relaxing it all the time, I cut it off myself HAHA but I came here and Angela fixed my hair within 45 minutes and I’ve never found another salon to go to for my Silk Presses 🩷
