I went in needing a haircut, shine and some color and Sam listened carefully and did exactly what I didn’t know I wanted! I recommend Sam so much. Great energy and even greater of a hair stylist. He is so quick, gentle and effective. He has definitely gained a loyal customer.

I absolutely love this place SO much! The ladies are warm and accommodating. I've went in for my move-up's with Giselle and again, she's super sweet and does such an amazing job. I'm currently coming in soon for new extensions so I am super excited and can't wait! Recently went in a couple days ago for a blowout with Karlee and the results were super cute. She's such! an angel. Honestly cannot wait to keep coming back here for my future services! 🩷

Sam is the best i have ever been to. I have very curly hair and am very particular on who I go to. He took his time, knew exactly what I wanted, and I can say it was the best color and cut of my 34 years of life! He’s unreal!!!!

Kendall was absolutely amazing! She literally gave me the best haircut and gloss I’ve ever had. She nailed exactly what I wanted when people I’ve been getting my hair cut from for years were never able to. I stopped in here on a trip not knowing anything about the salon. It was gorgeous and the staff was so friendly. I am literally planning my next trip around stopping in here to get my hair done by Kendall again!

Danielle did an amazing job on my haircut! My hair was feeling so heavy and she took her time taking off weight without taking off too much length. My hair is the perfect short length and feels so much healthier.

Loved my first experience here! The receptionist was really nice and the owner, Lisa, was lovely. I booked the first available stylist, but she ended up becoming unavailable (not a big deal), so Sam was my stylist instead. And was I glad that he was! Such a wonderful man!! Had the best time with him- and of course, I loved my haircut. He listens to what it is that you’d like or looking for, and at the same time gives you his professional opinion and advice. Will absolutely be back!

Sam does such a fantastic job with my haircut and color that I’ve been following him around from salon to salon for years! So happy to have him back in River North in a beautiful new salon. As always he knows exactly how to treat my hair and leaves the color perfect. Never too reddish or brassy like other places. He always finishes with a toner that leaves my hair shiny and healthier. Haircut in lawyer and blowout best finishing touches. That’s why I had to refer my friend to him as well! She loved her haircut too.

I got my hair done by Sam and he did an amazing job! He cut my hair so nice and styled it so well after. I also did a gloss and my hair looks so shiny and refreshed. I highly recommend going to Sam for your next cut & color.

I’m so glad Sam is now at Salon 833 as I love his work and the location is so nice. I went in Saturday to get my hair done by him and he is so knowledgeable and great working with my super dark hair and made suggestions that I didn’t think about doing for the highlights but turned out amazing and the haircut looks beyond beautiful. I will continue to go back as long as Sam is there!

SAM as always, was wonderful! He out did himself again! He is efficient and knows his way around sheers and a curling iron. He is GREAT with color too! The salon is sunbathed and beautiful, bright and fresh. Ok, I'll stop, go see for yourself! It's so perfect!

Sam is the best!! I’ve been going to him for 2+ years, followed him to 2 salons, and I won’t go to anyone else now. At first I was just getting trims, and now I trust all his recommendations. He suggests ideas that fit with my lifestyle and I’m so thankful because now I love adding color to my hair that looks natural and the perfect amount of layering he’s done to it. They’re things I wouldn’t have done normally but now can’t go without. Thank you Sam :)

Salon 833 is fantastic! This salon has great vibes, a super friendly staff, and absolutely wonderful stylists and colorists. I came in for a cut in early August, and I loved Viviana’s work and vibes that I came back for a coloring. My hair has never looked better. Viviana did a partial balayage, low light, and root melt. I wanted to change the tone, and Viviana knew exactly the right color. She showed me a picture, and I was like, "Yes, absolutely, I trust you completely." The addition of a few low lights to my balayage was a smart suggestion that really changed the look of my hair and broke up the previous coloring I've had done. The addition of the root melt elevated the tone of my hair in precisely the right way, and I absolutely love it. Again, I attribute this thoughtful and beautiful final touch--in the perfect color--to Viviana's expertise, understanding, and genuine desire to help people feel great about their hair and themselves.

I regret going there; I asked for a fresh hairstyle, but instead received Dora the Explorer hairdo. I specifically requested a cut and showed her the inspo photo; I understand that I cannot expect 100% accuracy, but it was nowhere near what I asked for. Trying to straighten my hair is a nightmare. The texture of my hair has also changed, almost as if it was severely damaged. I’m still furious to this day since the girl ruined my hair not just with the light retouching, but also with the haircut. Even though I am not satisfied, weeks have gone and I have not seen what I expected to see with my new appearance. I hope no one experienced the same regrets as I did when I went there.

I've been searching for a new hair salon & I came across Salon 833 on Instagram. After seeing some of their posts I decided to book an appointment. I booked a haircut with Lacey. As soon as I walked into the salon I liked the vibe. The salon is located in River North & they just recently moved into a new loft space with a lot of natural sunlight. The feel is warm & inviting. The staff is friendly & courteous. It's not at all like some pretentious salons I've been to. Lacey was awesome! She listened to how I wanted my hair to be cut. She took her time to cut & style my hair. She explained the products she was using which was a plus. I'm happy with my haircut & that I found Salon 833!

I’ve been going to Gisselle for about 3 yrs . She is wonderful every time I get my hair done . she knows what I want and knows how to work with my hair . I always leave her chair feeling like a new person , Gisselle always styles my hair and recommends great products for my hair to always look shiny and smooth . If I could give her a 10 start rating I will .. Gisselle is the one to go to if is for color or hair extensions….

Living in Paris, I often come to Chicago and took the opportunity to find a good hairstylist for hair extensions since I couldn't find anyone in Paris who could do it well. After some online research, I found several salons, but I chose salon 833 and selected stylist Jane. You know what? I didn't make a mistake choosing Jane because she managed to create the dream hairstyle I had longed for and never found in Paris. Since then, I get my hair done by Jane at salon 833 every time I'm in Chicago. Jane is very professional, quick, kind, and highly efficient.
