I walked in, coming right from a bad haircut from elsewhere. They were very nice and welcoming, and Monique was able to squeeze me in between appointments to fix my choppy haircut. She was great, and totally fixed my hair. I'll definitely go back!

This is the best salon I have found Steve is professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. The whole staff are a delightful group often engaged in scintillating conversations. I highly recommend this establishment . They truly are the BEST!

We moved to Tucson about 3 years ago and I used Yelp to find a hair salon for my wife, particularly one where reviewers mentioned how the stylists handle colors in the red and purple family. I found Salon Backstage on Yelp, and my wife's been coming here since then, almost 3 years, and it is just now dawning on me that, of all people, I never posted my OWN review. Just look at the business profile picture. That's Steve, the owner/proprietor, and he's terrific. It's not just his gregarious personality, but the way he runs his business and his own excellent skills as a stylist. He really does absolutely nail the red colors. And he's just a lot of fun to be around. It's a very enjoyable experience because the salon is comfortable, I can sit on the couch and use my tablet while my wife gets her hair done. And it's not just the color that he gets right so consistently well, but also the cut. I really like the short style my wife has and Steve does a great job all around - the top looks great, the back is nice and clean, sides are awesome, too. You can, of course, purchase hair related products at the salon, but also other items (jewelry, for example). And I like the cool art, the posters and photos on the call. But the important part is the hair cutting and coloring and as I said, Steve does a consistently great job on both. We drive about 45 minutes to come here. Once you find a stylist you like, you stick with them. It's totally worth the drive. The hair treatment is great, Steve is fun, and the salon is comfortable to hang out in.

Great service all around. As a fellow small business owner I only refer to places with great staff, and great services. I personally work with Kris, but know the rest of the staff and cannot recommend them enough. If you need to be beautified, come here!!

Terrible place! Two different hair stylists attempted to do a balayage style to my hair and failed because they had no idea what they were doing even though they said that they did. The first girl attempted twice in one day and then I still had to come back another day because I was unhappy with the result. The second girl still did not know how to do it. My comment is this...if you don’t know how to do a certain style don’t pretend to just to get a customers money!! Not ok!

Great salon.Steve is the owner and cuts my hair. Had to cancel 3 times but he stayed open until 6:30,PM last night so I could finally get my hair cut. Always cheerful,happy to see you and by the way..gives the greatest shampoo with neck rub ever! Be sure and make an appointment. Word is out about Backstage and they are very busy. Highly recommend.

I love love LOVE this place. Amazing ambience, friendly stylists, and it's even pet friendly (as long as your animal is friendly and calm). They all do amazing work. Monique and Kristopher are both literally the best and the prices are really good for the quality and service you get. I recommend them to all my friends and family.

Nikki knows her hair and can work magic! Very talented stylist and wonderful to work with. She cares about what you want and will work with you so you can do the styles too. She's also a master at coloring too. All around I love this salon and the results I get every time!
