Book with Cameron Vandenboom. Full stop. She is the hairdresser every perfectionist dreams about. After a traumatic bang incident at another salon, Cameron took the time to talk through my vision and how she could help get my bangs there. Every few snips, she checked in to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the progress, because she could tell how nervous I was. So, so kind and attentive. Cameron isn’t just a master of cuts, she’s also excellent with vivid colors. We’ve done pink, purple, and most recently, a blue peekaboo, and every time she works with me to achieve the best end result. If achieving a color isn’t realistic or won’t last more than two washes (I love a pastel), she’s upfront about it and offers alternatives. That kind of honesty, combined with her respect for the health of your hair, is priceless. However, for the luxury and experience you receive at each appointment, her prices are very reasonable. I still usually schedule my appointments three months apart to be more frugal, and use salon-grade dye between visits. She knows I do touch-ups on my own and is very open to answering my questions and sharing tips on how I can upkeep the color, with no judgment. I could talk about how wonderful she is all day, but you really just need to experience it yourself. She books out weeks in advance (her insta is @CamDoesYourHair), so don’t wait until the last minute.

I walked in with hair that had not been cut since before COVID nor had I had professional color during that time. I also wanted color, highlights, cut, styling, Brazilian blow-out in less than a week. Lexi grabbed the schedules and made it happen. Kala did all the color, cut and styling on one day and I came back for Jaime to do the Brazilian. All I can say is these ladies are miracle workers and I will be back soon. Total strangers are stopping me and asking for details. Thanks to all!

Got a haircut recently, and it was a great experience! Sydney was super professional, asked all the right questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted, and even gave some great suggestions that worked perfectly for me. Took her time to make sure everything looked sharp and kept the vibe really comfortable. Highly recommend!

I gave Hannah a difficult job. I had 3 different box dyes on the mid length, 3 inches of virgin hair at the top and a dark brown band between the two. Hannah was able to take all of those and beautifully blend lowlights and highlight together to give me my dream hair. She was extremely kind and sweet during her service and I will definitely be back again!!!!

Saw Jayme, As a guy, I personally never felt comfortable going into a salon full of women. Thankfully, they welcomed me and I had a great experience. Hairstylist are naturally better with longer hair, But they did Great job at meeting my expectations. I’ll have to go back once my hair grows out a bit longer. Place is very clean and very beautiful beautifully lit.

I originally visited Salon Blu a few years ago, and really enjoyed my overall experience. However, when I tried to return, the stylist I previously visited had left so I was offered an appointment with Cameron Vandenboom. I can’t say enough good things about Cameron. I have moved around a lot, and the last time I found a stylist I loved this much was over 10 years ago. Needless to say I will not use anyone else in the Raleigh area but Cameron and recommend her to everyone I know!

She is a stylist I stumbled on from IG after 2 other stylists in the triangle didn’t fit my needs. Love Cameron Vandenboom at Salon Blu North Hills!! I've know Cameron since she was a student at Aveda but she's been my stylist for the past 3 years. She completely transformed my hair after the Covid lockdown and my new growth was out of control. I look forward to seeing her every time. She is warm, friendly, down to earth, and a super talent. She can do anything but excels with blondes! She is highly skilled and great with time management. She is realistic and honest and will only offer you what's best for you. I highly recommend her and I won't be going to anyone else for a long time! 😁 Salon Blu is a great company and full of amazing talent.
