Wish I could give it zero stars. My hair used to be blonde, I wanted it to be toned to look more golden and glossy. It is now brown and choppy. Horrible tone job, horrible cut. Would not recommend to my worst enemy.

If you’re thinking about visiting this salon, do yourself a favor and go—you’ll never look better! Last week, I received the best haircut of my life, and everyone who knew me before can’t stop raving about it. I have been going to Salon Blu for some years now and James has been out if town. I called and spoke with Joan ( whom I love with all my heart she is like family to me ) and she told me they now have Jay working there and I made an appointment . Let me tell you this man is not only amazing , he also has a heart of gold and most importantly he cares about people and no matter what profession your in we all know that makes a world of difference. I am a people person and I always grow close to people that are like minded and in general good hearted people and I feel like I could talk to him about anything . I have been putting dark into my hair when I have been a blonde for years . Jay had to correct what I had been getting done and when I saw the end results all I could do was cry I was so overwhelmed to see my base color lighter and he had put blonde back into it and at that moment I felt back to me self again . Every appointment that I have ever made over the years it’s like I’m going home to see family . I love this salon and I love the incredible feeling I get when I walk out because when your hair looks good you can take in the world . Thank you James and Jay for making this world a better place for being in it and taking your time to care about others . ❤️🙏🏾💯💯💯

AMAZING 😍🤩🤩🤩!My first time in this salon...well long story short. I've had bad trust issues with hair salons in USA from past experience's but this is completely different in this place. I was very sceptical as usually for person who does my color and cut ,than I've met James...life changing experience 🤩. True perfectionist,true master of his art. He done my roots,tone the hair ,cut and blowdry. Usually I had mass with color shades ,hair tone done perfect!I couldn't believe my own eyes. Hair healthy, vibrant,shiny . I hear compliments about my hair non stop now! It's definitely worse your time and money .Can't remember be that happy with my hair for years (and trust me I've been all over the world). The best hairdresser in Bay Area!Bravo James and huge thank you ☺️🤗🤩😍❤️

I came in and was welcomed with amazing energy! James is a magician! We looked at dye colors and talked about how I wanted to cut it. I said I want a rockstar hair style, and boy did he deliver!!!! I loved every moment of my experience here! They even gave me a blanket and delicious latte. Will def recommend and return!!!

Update: My hair is completely thin and falling out. Nothing I asked for. I just asked for gray hair coverage and they went THE DARKEST BLACK. I’m livid and will sue. Outrageous. Went in for a trim (clean up) and color, was charged $190 for it while I had to wait on two other customers being serviced by one barber at the same time. Spent two hours here. My modeling rate is $200 an hour. I lost money coming here and will never be back again. Oh, and the poor grandma they have assisting James also made my entire shirt wet while shampooing my hair since she is clearly well past retirement. This is a circus, not a business. Do not recommend you waste your time here. Lots of other places around.

I moved to San Jose 6 months ago and after trying a few different places I finally found my favorite salon! Johnathan cut my hair and he did a great job! He was very respectful and professional. He paid attention to every detail and I was very happy and pleased with my haircut. I definitely would recommend the salon to everyone!

Im so happy i found Salon Blu! I have long, thick hair and after an extensive surgery was unable to raise my arms to style it. I found Crystal and she became my weekly hair-angel as I went through recovery. She is so gentle, fast, and truly I've never had someone style my hair as well. Even though i can do my hair myself again, I still see Crystal monthly as i just love the way she does my hair. I also now get the Brazilian treatment from her, too which has resolved the frizz/damage that the San Jose hard water does to my hair. I've seen James as well and he does amazing beachy curls. Their staff is wonderful with Joan taking appointments and greeting with a warm smile. I love this salon!

James at Salon Blu is too good at what he is doing. I had brazilian blowout and hair cut here for the first time. Before and after the service I can see significant change in my looks and style. I have been to different salons for hair cuts in san jose downtown but quality of service at salon blu is great.

Shout out to Joan and Piper who squeezed me in for a style when I was stressing! They were so sweet and accommodating, brought me chamomile for my nervous tummy, and Piper did such a great job on my curls!

Had a Brazilian blowout appointment. The appointment should have taken 90 minutes but took 3+ hours as the stylist was multitasking, answering phones, helping other people, did a video call with a friend, ordered lunch, and even did a blowout on another customer. I was hesitant to write a review, but after 2 weeks my hair has gone back to normal. She rushed through the straightening which might be the reason. I had one before at another place that lasted 2 months. This place was a huge waste of time and $250 + tip and products. Less of a problem but was kind of weird and maybe not customer centric, they called the day before my original appointment and asked me to move to another day without explanation or apology for the change.

It's been 2 weeks since I got the treatment, however after just 1 week my hair doesn't feel soft at all anymore. I bought the entire $125+ ancillary haircare system and I wash every 3rd day: no good, it couldn't maintain the nice texture.

James at Salon Blu is a styling genius! I hired him to do my hair for my rehearsal dinner, and he did a fantastic job. I wanted beachy, voluminous waves, but I still wanted my hair to look shiny. He gave me exactly what I wanted, and he didn't put my hair through any horrible teasing. My hair still looked amazing the next morning! I live more than an hour away, but I'll seriously consider making the drive for James just to get styled for my next big event.

I have frequented the owner, James's establishments for many years. He and his staff have provided their expertise with educated excellence toward my hair cuts, styling and coloring. I’ve traveled from all over the world to sit in the chair at Brazilian Blowout and I am ALWAYS happy with the results from the services that I receive. I highly recommend this salon! James is a master of art and beautification... dominating in his field. The staff is always courteous and helpful. And you will find the ambiance is clean, soothing and relaxing.
