BEWARE PLEASE! I visited for a consultation before getting extensions and color. I was quoted $1,600 and specifically asked if that was the maximum price. The stylist checked with Sam, the extension specialist, who confirmed that was the max. Based on this, I paid an $800 deposit and ordered 5 packs of 22-inch Bellami hair. After second-guessing my color choice, Sam ordered 3 other shades, but failed to tell me that one of those was only available in 24-inch extensions which are more expensive. On the day of my appointment, I had to ask to see the extensions before they were colored and installed. They showed me three colors outside the packaging, but still didn't tell me some were 24 inches. Since they were all light shades,I went with a custom color instead. Despite having already told them I never use box dye, the colorist asked again and I explained I only use professional dye, and even listed the levels and developer. Yet, she still messed up my color three times: 1. I ended up with bright orange roots and dark red/brown hair 2. She tried to fix an uneven patch, but my roots were still orange. 3.The assistant suggested they could just install the extensions first and fix the color after which is completely unacceptable because you cannot wet K-tip extensions immediately after installation. I had to explain this to a professional. After this, the colorist made my roots dark brown, which was not the all over even color I wanted at all. After 4.5-5 hours of color, Sam suggested not installing all of my extensions, despite me telling her I liked my previous extension applications with all of them in. I kept saying the hair felt too thin in places, particularly around my face, but she still rushed through the application and mentioned her boyfriend’s parents were cooking dinner so i felt bad keeping here there as it was almost 9. At checkout, I was told I owed an additional $1,280, bringing my total to $2,080,which was $480 more than the quoted price. They never informed me during the service that things were being added on nor did I know 24 inch hair was being added to my hair for more money without my consent. When I checked my receipt, I found that they charged me for extensions I never ordered and for more than I could buy them for online myself, even though they get a professional discount. I messaged Sam to express my dissatisfaction with the uneven color and thin extensions around my face. The next day, I called the salon, and the manager (blonde with an accent) was extremely rude, accusing me of using box dye, even though I had explicitly told them I had not. After several exchanges, she admitted that they had put 24-inch hair in my head without informing me and charged me for it. When I asked why they couldn’t just color 5 packs for 22inch if they did 3 and she had no answer. They only refunded me $170 after I had spent $2,000. $75 for the unquoted root glaze, 40 color that i have to get redone anyways, and $50 for the 22-inch vs. 24-inch price difference. They even called me a scammer during the call. when they added things without consent. I’ve been to Salon Buzz for years and never checked my receipts, trusting them. I left with uneven color, thin extensions bc i have them at 2 different lengths. and had to cut my own hair at home because the ends were straggly. Salon Buzz is deceptive, charges without consent, and rushes through services. BEWARE.

Frankie gave me the best haircut! I needed a refresh without cutting too much since I love my length and she was so amazing about respecting that and giving me a haircut that made me feel like a million bucks! I was looking for a new go-to salon after my previous hair stylist retired and I’ve definitely found my new place here!

Needed a new look after having hair past my shoulders for a long time. I was looking for a short layered bob that would be easy to style. Phil gave me the perfect haircut and walked me through exactly how to style it. I highly recommend Phil for a great haircut and style!

I’ve been going to Salon Buzz Gold Coast for 15 plus years, and it’s a phenomenal salon in Chicago. Andreas runs an amazing business, and I’m always so impressed with his extensive training program for colorists and stylists. Aldona, Emily, Cressida and Elsa are all so great to work with !

If you’re looking to do a big transformation or get the perfect bob cut, GO TO PHIL!! He gave me the perfect cut I was looking for and checked in with me throughout the entire cutting process making sure that I was happy with the length. For my coloring, I went for a full highlight and Sunny absolutely NAILED what I was looking for. I couldn’t be happier! I felt so heard and listened to from start to finish, which is rarer than you would think when it comes to most other hair salons. Everyone at Salon Buzz is so kind and fun and the vibes are so positive and uplifting. I will definitely be coming back!

Jen at Salon Buzz is absolutely amazing! My coworker recommended Jen to me since he and his family have been under her care for several years and I am absolutely blown away by my amazing results! I have been looking for a new stylist since moving to Chicago and I can honestly say that Jen provided the most phenomenal haircut that I have ever had! I will definitely be returning and highly recommend Jen to anyone in Chicago looking for a phenomenal hair stylist!

Ava and Phil were AMAZING! Ava's color job was the best I've ever had and it was a red which are hard to do. And Phil took me from drab to fab! I had a wedding to go to the next day and I felt so beautiful after they got done with me. Thank you so much guys!

Hello, so i went and they gave me the worst haircut of my life. Sophia didn’t even listen to what I wanted unfortunately, and the service is so bad- they were so dismissive! I commented on their instagram and they blocked me! A respectable business would’ve responded and cared. I did my research before coming here and gave it a chance, and I was mistaken. At this point, I think they delete all the bad reviews. Also- the place is NOT sanitary. Also the lady who washed my hair didn’t even touch my hair or head. When I went to the front desk to tell them of my experience they just dismissed me!!! Please don’t come here. I was crying for days how my hair is- now I have to wear a hat until I grows out. Not worth 110.

Phil is THE best! I started seeing Phil a year ago after a salon in west loop gave me a chop that was worse than if I had just cut it myself blindfolded. He not only fixed it, but has always been communicative with me about growing it back, what I want it to look like, etc. and now I finally LOVE my hair again.

They are so friendly here and kind. Pam Smith is simply the best hair stylist. I have had to use others when she was getting knee replacements a while ago, and I would rather have it grow out instead. No one cuts it like her.

Went in to the salon today to buy product and the front desk staff was absolutely repulsive. I’ve never been treated so poorly. Will not be going back.
