Left in tears and traumatized after my hair appointment at this salon for my honeymoon trip with my husband. This was my second time coming to Salon Eight Nine; I was a very happy and satisfied customer on my first visit which is why I decided to return and was going to be a regular client. However, this experience left me speechless and in emotional distress during one of the most important times of my life. I made an appointment through the online booking system Vagaro that the salon has with the same lady, Keli Gutierrez, who did my hair the first time. I made sure to type out and specify what services I was needing which were a gloss color service as well cutting my hair extensions to blend them and make sure I was ready for my trip. I paid for an Uber all the way to the salon from Moore which was $25 and then back to Moore afterwards , another $25 adding up to a total of $50 which was pricey on its own, but I liked the salon so going out of my way to get there as a loyal client wasn’t a problem. During my hair appointment I brought my extensions and showed them to Keli, set them on the table at her working station and she proceeded to do my color and haircut, but left my extensions without any work to them. When she said we were finished I asked very worried and politely saying I didn’t think they would blend because my hair was now even shorter to which she proceeds to have me put on the extensions on my hair and after I put them on she said that oh no they won’t blend and I would have to order new shorter ones because nothing could be done. As soon as I left I cried outside the salon and was so worried because now my hair was shorter than before, my extensions would not blend and my trip was only a few days away. In panic and tears being so self conscious I decided to call the owner of the salon right away after leaving since she also does hair and has clients and I asked if there was anyone else who could fix my hair and she said yes that having my extensions blended was possible and she would book me another appointment to fix it with a stylist there at the salon using my current hair extensions, which contradicts what the lady doing my hair said which was that it couldn’t be done and they wouldn’t blend so I would need to buy new short ones. The following day I talked again with the owner Emma very hopeful that I could still have long hair and have the issue fixed to be able to enjoy my trip. During our call when she was scheduling me for the appointment to fix the issue she proceeds to tell me that the new stylist doing my hair would charge me $75 dollars for the haircut, when Keli only charged me $25 for the haircut and when I was expressing my concern to her that I had already spent the money for Ubers, and I would need to spend another $50 dollars again for the trip there and back plus the $110 I had already paid Keli Gutierrez which would put me at hundreds of dollars of total cost when the original haircut was $25 and the gloss was $85 equaling the $110. She was very cold and not empathetic and said to me ‘Do you want the appointment yes or no? Because she had other clients, which made me feel very shocked and sad. I feel like as the owner of the establishment she could’ve gone out of her way to make sure I felt understood and even as a gesture of kindness helped me resolve the situation for less especially if she does hair. I would have kept coming as a client and supporting her business. She did not seem kind or understanding. I would not recommend this establishment to any lady for a special day. I have heard of business owners going the extra mile to make sure an already established client can feel beautiful and happy with their service. I wish I could’ve felt that the owner was committed to her clients and not treated me so cold especially as a second time client when on my first appointment I even tipped the lady extra in addition to the service cost. In the end Keli Gutierrez said she would refund me the cost of the appointment, so I had to Uber back to the salon and get my refund.

Salon Eight Nine is amazing! I was nervous to be trusting someone new with my hair, and I was extremely lucky to find Lilee! She is super friendly and relatable! We talked in length about my expectations before she even touched my hair and addressed all of my concerns. My blonde highlights turned out absolutely gorgeous and she was finally able to fix my bangs the way I like them. I will definitely be back!

I am so happy I found Lilee! She always does EXACTLY WHAT I ASK FOR! My hair has never been so perfect! Salon Eight Nine is absolutely gorgeous, very nice atmosphere!

My experience was unlike any other. They treated my hair with care and respect. My hair has never looked or felt better in my life. I feel like a whole new woman, and I am so satisfied with my life experience.
