I rarely leave bad reviews but I had such a bad experience and I’m still really upset over it. I deeply regret visiting this salon. I used to live in New York, but I was just visiting this time. I booked for a blowout and style and got one of the male stylists. When I got there, he immediately said how awful my current haircut was and criticized my “orange highlights”. This was shocking, especially because I had only come in for a blowout. He then told me I needed a treatment because my hair was so dead. I agreed to it. However, he added a toner in my hair without notifying me. I think he left it on for too long or I’m not sure if he added something else, but my hair is completely fried now. Now the color looks completely different. On top of that, he kept saying I should do a haircut. I had to tell him multiple times that I didn’t want one. Thank goodness I didn’t let him ruin my hair even more with a cut. This was a terrible experience, he was not friendly at all and the only redeemable thing was that the receptionist was nice. I almost left there in tears and just wanted to get out of there. I saw the other stylists and saw a girl went in and just got a blowout and left with a female stylist. I wish I booked with someone else. I’m still so, so sad about my hair.

Cut a haircut last night with Orhan. He took the time before my cut to discuss my hair goals, look at pictures with me and provide feedback on what I wanted. I was definitely nervous at first, because it was my first time here, but my hair came out beautifully. He is a very talented stylist. Would definitely go back again!

Went for a haircut as a first time client and the guy that cut my hair literally did not care at all, didn’t even bother to take his airpod out. I also didn’t get the haircut I wanted. I asked for layers back and front and just got in the front even though I asked him 3 TIMES to make layers in the back and he just kept nodding. I don’t think he even heard me and did not bother to ask. From the moment I got to the appointment to the moment I left I felt like they were just rushing to get me out of there. Terrible experience, literally wasted money for nothing because he barely cut any hair. Not coming back

If I could give more stars, I would. I had a huge mom fail and I really messed up my son's hair. Diana and Ana were amazing. Really. They cleaned it up, made me feel better, and stayed late to do so. I couldn't thank them enough for their kindness, their hard work, and the haircut was really wonderful as an added bonus.

LOVE this salon! Decided to give it a try after doing my hair out of state for so long - worth it! I was offered a drink and I chose a cappuccino, delicious! I went with Tanya, and she is wonderful! Fast, efficient yet left me feeling like a princess!

Unfortunately have to give this salon 0/5 stars. I went to this salon twice. First time I went to get a simple trim haircut which was fine, so I returned in April a second time to get color and was given the worst highlights ever. I came to the salon with an inspiration picture which the stylist seemed to understand, but she completely colored me incorrectly. I was brought back and forth to the sinks 4 times and was there for 4+ hours as she tried to add a gloss once I expressed my frustration but at this point it was too late as her coworkers told her she messed up with coloring and that I need to return on a different day to get it fixed. I left the salon with dried out hair from over treated, grey zebra stripes and highlight bleeds and I was in tears, yet my stylist was worried about herself. The salon still tried to charge me full price as I told them I was disappointed several times. As someone who has worked in customer service, the customer is always right, and at this salon they were not worried about my disappointment. I have attached the inspiration picture as well as my result and close ups of the highlight bleeds. I chose to go to another salon for a color correction where she found bleeds at the top of my head as shown in picture with foils.

Tanya was absolutely amazing and did a fantastic job styling my hair. My hair is very curly and frizzy, and can be difficult to style for someone who is not used to it. But she knew right away what to do and the outcome was just beautiful. The staff is very nice too.

My hair is super tough to do and I can almost never find a good place to go for a blowout. I was so happy to have found Salon Icon right when I moved into the neighborhood. Such a great environment too. Can't recommend enough!

Me and my friend came to get blowouts and we had the best experience!! They were so kind and they let us use their mirrors to do our makeup. I recommend!!!

This salon was a great experience. It was my first time going and the stylists are very attentive to exactly what you’re looking for. I really appreciated how well they listened and gave input as a mini consultation at the start of my visit. I saw Boris and he listened to exactly what I was looking for and I’m extremely happy with my hair, especially for a great value price. I will definitely be returning.

I have been looking for a new hairdresser so I called day of and got an appointment for a haircut with Marina. I was so blown away by not only the cleanliness of the salon, but also the kindness and professionalism of the employees. Marina gave me one of the best haircuts I have ever received. Ever since moving to NYC it has been hard to find a stylist that can execute exactly what I want for my hair, and she was exceptional! Highly, highly recommend coming here and booking Marina. I will be coming back for color treatment, and will be telling all my friends about this salon. Thank you Salon Icon!

Fairly priced by NYC standards and good quick haircut. Some of the staff seems to need more training. The guy that washed my hair was too soft. I couldn’t even tell if he was washing my hair. And they did seem to be stretching it as the stylist was running late. I had to wait 15+ mins after my appt time until the stylist greeted me. Haircut was decent but the blow dry was very harsh. I wish she was gentler on my scalp and not so hot. I would just get the cut next time.

I’ve been going to Richie for 4 years now for haircut. He has amazing understanding of my needs and what my hair /face can handle. Very competitive pricing for Manhattan too! I’ll never go to another place.

Giuseppe gave me the best experience!!! He did even more of what I asked for! Honestly amazing professional. The color is so beautiful that is mind blowing, I couldn’t be more happy with it! Plus he did not go silent on his advices when I asked for his thoughts. The haircut was perfectly done! Always trying to fulfill my wishes of maintaining as much as possible the length. Just in love with his work! Thank you so much! So people, if you want perfection and satisfaction, ask for him ASAP, is worth it!

Love this salon! I feel like a new person every time I walk out of there. I’ve been to Diana a few times now and she is excellent. The cut and color is always exactly what I want. They have coffee, tea, wine etc and the staff is all very warm and attentive. Prices are also very reasonable. So happy I found this place

I had a terrible experience in this salon, ai definitely don’t recommend it. I went to do a single process and now I have a hair with 2 different color, I came there again to they try to fix the problem but was useless!

Very choppy face framing layers, cut more than asked for, didn’t communicate well throughout. Haircut lasted 25 minutes including hair wash.
