I’ve written a review before, but had to share my experience again. Last week, I received a haircut that I was less than happy with. To be frank, I cried looking at my hair. I called and emailed pictures to the owners and they were able to get me in within a couple days to fix the haircut. The owner, Michael was so kind and knowledgeable about everything hair related. He gave me great tips on styling my hair and what to ask for. I think I audibly gasped at how amazing my hair looked! While it is shorter than I wanted, the end result of the fix was more than I could hope for. For that, THANK YOU. This is the type of service that you continue to come back to.

It was my first time at the salon. Nancy spent a long time talking to me about the way I style my hair at home and what I was looking for in highlight color and style. The haircut and highlights look amazing. So glad I found a great salon and stylist!

I recently moved here and needed a new Salon. My daughter recommended Salon L and her stylist Cayla. What a beautiful, friendly, classy place. Highly recommend Cayla, very approachable, confident and skilled. Loved my haircut and style and will definitely be back. PS and shout out to the shampoo attendant. I’m sorry I forget her name, but she was wonderful.

We recently moved to Manayunk from Center City and I was in need of a salon. I tried two local places, but neither impressed me. I then decided to give Salon L a shot. With an intuitive website and many reviews I decided to book a cut with Ryan. I've passed the salon many times but upon entering was surprised at how big and beautiful it was. With soaring ceilings and a waiting room like the Palace of Versailles I was immediately impressed. Ryan came to introduce himself and we discussed my hair future. He was a patient listener who took his time to deliver a precision cut. Not allowing the clock to influence him he gave me a great haircut. Ryan is a perfectionist who values your satisfaction and it shows. Service is an important and apparent part of Salon L where customer satisfaction is paramount. As it was my first visit I was presented with a small array of welcome gifts such as discounts on future services. If you want a wonderful space with great ambience and quality services then look no further.

Two stars because the salon looked nice inside and I liked my haircut. I am very disappointed with my color though. I spent 265$ and my hair color looks almost the same but if not darker than when I went in. I went in with my original color being semi permanent dark copper (that was dyed over light blonde hair) I asked for them to lighten my hair to a light copper/strawberry blonde. I had my past salon in Washington DC take me from dark brown to blonde before with very minimal damage, so I thought going from dark copper to a light copper or strawberry blonde should be a breeze. But no, I ended up with a few tiny highlights and the glaze they put in my hair made my hair darker and brown. I could have just paid for a 15$ semi permanent dye and got the same results. I’ve done my own hair in the past and getting light copper hair is so easy for me, I just went to this salon because I wanted to treat myself. I wish I could get a refund because I got the opposite of what I asked for. Reference photos below.

I will forever be loyal to this salon—it’s truly the best! The sense of community and the incredible people here make every visit special. Two standouts who deserve all the praise: Annie Morris: Annie has been my go-to esthetician since high school, and for good reason. Whether I need a facial, lash lift, or a quick brow wax, she always customizes each treatment to perfectly suit my style. She’s hands-down the best esthetician in the Philadelphia area, and I leave every appointment feeling flawless. Annie is simply unmatched! Cayla Ferry: Cayla has been doing my hair for over five years, and I wouldn’t trust anyone else. From highlights to going darker, haircuts to styling, she nails it every time. I’ve had people stop me on the street to ask who does my hair—she’s that good! I recommend her to everyone I know, and they always thank me later. This salon has consistently exceeded my expectations, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Ryan O. has been cutting my hair for 15+ years and he is absolutely fantastic! He cuts my hair with care rather than rushing through it. Ryan spends time with his clients and will make adjustments slowly. You can put your trust in him with your head! He’s definitely a hair wizard!

This is my first time visiting Salon L. It was a busy Saturday but everyone was very welcoming. Got some trim and a blow dry from Lauren for some friends’ wedding. I love the look & Lauren is so friendly and caring, I would definitely want to come back.

I had an amazing experience getting my bridal hair and makeup done here! The whole team was so accommodating for my bridesmaids and myself. I had 7 bridesmaids and we were able to stay in the blow bar and bring breakfast/hang out while we waited. There were a few last minute changes that my bridesmaids needed that they were happy to adjust which was much appreciated. My hair by Lauren was STUNNING and Annie did a fantastic job with my makeup. I can’t recommend Salon L enough!

I was scared of finding a new stylist in the area, Tori at the front desk was so reassuring and made me feel so comfortable going into my appointment she was so professional and kind. Amber was my stylist and she didn’t exactly what I asked maybe even better than what I asked!! Super beautiful and professional salon they did great work and I already have my next appointment scheduled!

I have been going to Salon L for over 5 years. My stylist, Terry, is a master. My daughter and sister also go and have similar experiences. Service is excellent from beginning to end. If you're looking for a new salon, you can't go wrong with Salon L. (Free parking in their adjacent lot is a fantastic plus!)

I have been seeing Annie as an esthetician and Candice for my hair for over 5 years and couldn’t recommend either of them more. I always leaving feeling so good about myself and the treatments look great for months! I can’t imagine seeing anyone else now. They really tailor each experience to the clients need and are just the best people to work & spend time with!

I love Salon L! Reilly is a great hair stylist. She has done an amazing job with all the haircuts I've received from her. Annie is also wonderful! I have been to Annie for several brow shaping appointments, which are great. Last week I had my first signature facial with Annie. She listened to all my skin concerns and catered the facial to exactly what I needed. I felt so refreshed after my facial, and my skin is very clear. Would definitely recommend both Annie and Reilly for their incredible services! I feel very well taken care of at Salon L.

I wish I could give ZERO star. The time I went to this salon that seemed to be professional; I got my eyebrows done (waxing and tinting), the lady said it should stay up to 3 weeks, but it completely faded within the first week, I never complained to the salon staff or asked for correctional services because their website says if you’re not satisfied you can have correctional service. Anyways, I have scheduled an appointment for highlights the following week, the front desk said it costs $150. I went there, my hair was a light brown. I got the highlights which I don’t call highlights because there is no single highlight on it lol. They only damaged my hair which was super healthy. I paid $400. From $150 to $400 which was crazy to me. I got home my husband and whole family started laughing because there was ZERO highlight except the nice blow dry with the wavy curls. 3 days later I washed my hair because the lady who did my highlights said you should see highlights coming out when you wash it LOL. I said ok then let me wash it.. I washed it, it was a mess, very brassy and orange and still not a single highlight. Here I decided to salon, she said yes we have correctional services if you are not satisfied, I said ok great. She said no blow dry I said fine. Today while waiting for my appointment which is tomorrow, a lady called me from that salon saying that the service will not be Free, what? You must be kidding!!! I paid $50 for eyebrows tinting and the tint faded within 2 days but never complained. And then paid $400 for highlights and I see no highlights.. this is one of my worst experiences ever. I will never come back. I will not recommend. They do not care about their clients, all they care about is money. I will post below the kind of highlights I usually get and only pay $300. And I will also post the highlights received from this salon.

First time customer of Salon L and I couldn’t be more pleased with my service! I came for haircut & style, looking to cut off quite a few inches. My stylist was Amber and she took the time to discuss with me exactly what I was imagining. I absolutely love my hair and I left feeling so beautiful like a whole new person. I’ve already gotten so many complements on my new hair!

I love this place! I moved last year to Manayunk and I’m so happy this hair cutter is so close. It doesn’t just look beautiful inside but also everyone is super nice and professional. I like to get my hair done with Ryan. One time he fixed my strawberry blond (thank you!!) and earlier this year he did an amazing balayage for me. Another time Amber took care of me and she cut my hair and I loved it! Highly recommend!

THANK YOU to Ryan and Amanda for making my Friday!! I had an awful experience at another salon the day prior and called Salon L frantically towards the end of Thursday to see if they could fit me in today. I was an emotional wreck so thank you to the receptionist Zoey that quickly called back to let me know they had a spot for me. Ryan completely changed my hair for the better. He was able to color correct it and get it back to a natural brown balayage that I had originally asked for. He did his magic 😭💖🌟 and I’m forever thankful! I’ve been going here for years for hair cuts, balayage, “fashion color” and eye brows. Cayla is truly a special person and always does great work. She is easy to talk to and never pushes me toward something I’m not comfortable with. I am not someone who is interested in having a hair style that needs a lot of maintenance, and she understands that and helped me find a cut that works for me. More importantly, she never made me feel bad because I don’t style my hair everyday; she meets me where I’m at. Her focus is making her clients feel comfortable and doing amazing work. 10/10 would recommend.

When you have a good hair stylist at home and you have to move, it is tough to trust new people with your hair. I am so grateful my friend recommended Lauren V and Salon L. She is a rockstar, she is VERY good at what she does, and she is the sweetest stylist you will meet. I have gone to her twice now for cut and color, and not only have I been very satisfied with the outcomes, but throughout both sessions she gained my trust in her skills as well as who she is as a person and as someone who knows how to take care of her clients. Lauren is excellent at listening to what I'm looking for, checking in throughout the process, and making changes and tweaks along the way. She also has the expertise and understanding of different individuals' hair to offer suggestions so the final product is perfect. She knows color, and my highlights have come out perfectly during both visits. The cuts have been beautiful -- i have thick hair and get a decent chop each time - she is able to take the weight off without making it look choppy or screwing up the texture, and giving me a style I can work with in my day - to - day and which grows out nicely. I imagine one of the difficult parts about being a great hair stylist is juggling multiple clients at once -- she does this effortlessly and I never feel abandoned during the parts of the process that involve waiting (i.e. foils and dryer). I have seen her work well with her assistants who she treats with a lot of respect in my limited experience. Lauren is a perfectionist, and it is clear she wants to get every detail right. I sometimes hesitate to ask for adjustments in general when getting my hair done, but Lauren made me comfortable enough to really work with her so that I was happy with my hair. I never felt like she was rushing with me, and she never makes me feel like stating my preferences is an imposition. Quite the contrary -- she elicits my feedback in a way that makes me confident she knows what she's doing and allows me to let her know what I'm looking for. Additionally, Salon L is beautiful, comfortable, and really pleasant. Everyone there has only been welcoming and respectful, and the salon is spacious, clean, and friendly.
