I have followed Stormie Crews in Loft No. 8 twice now from two prior salons, and I would continue to follow her wherever she goes in the Columbus area. Full transparency: I am probably the pickiest person I know when it comes to my hair, and from my very first appointment with Stormie, I was so impressed by her professionalism, knowledge, and commitment to achieving my hair goals. She is an absolute perfectionist like myself and I could not more strongly recommend her.

Stormie Crews in Loft 8 is the BEST for hair services. I’ve been going to her for almost three years now, & my hair always comes out looking fantastic. Polaris is a trek across town for me, but Stormie is more than worth it.

Alexis is a miracle worker. Two years ago, I walked into her salon with extremely low self-esteem. I had thinning hair and wanted a haircut that could help me conceal it. She not only knocked it out of the park, but she also was so kind with her words. She made me feel so comfortable and I left her salon feeling beautiful again. Since then, I've gotten highlights and extensions with Alexis. And I can confidently tell you that I will NEVER EVER see another hairstylist again.

Can not recommend Stormie enough! I have never left her place disappointed, not even a little. She is very knowledgeable, calming, and so sweet! My daughters and I have been going to her for years and we wouldn’t go to anyone else.

I’ve been going to Stormie in loft 8 for a while and she never disappoints! She always gives a good cut and style. Great customer service and a nice environment. Strongly recommend!

Stormie in Loft 8 is absolutely amazing! I’ve gone to her multiple times and her hair cuts are consistently on point. She has also colored my hair in fashion colors as well as natural and the color has always come out beautifully. Her loft space is very welcoming and comfortable. The shampoo chair is probably the most comfortable one I’ve ever been in and she even offers a hot towel after your wash. Stormie is great at listening and making your vision come to life, and will explain how you can upkeep your new look. Definitely recommend her!

Stormie, in Loft 8, is absolutely fantastic! She has been doing my hair for a little over 5 years, and I cannot say enough nice things about her. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad outcome with her doing my hair. She goes above and beyond my expectations every time, and always brings my hair goals to life.

Alexis has been doing my hair for years! I fly into Ohio from NYC just to get my hair done! I can be very particular and she has always been so patient with me, ensuring that I am happy with the results before I leave. She has great price points and is an expert in hair color and haircuts. I highly recommend getting your hair done by Alexis, you won’t be disappointed!!

I would not recommend Alexis. She didn’t wash out all the color in my hair so I had to rewash it when I got home (whatever but I paid for professional service), and was burning my head while blow drying. I asked for dark dimensional brown hair and showed reference photos. She started bleaching it which I thought was weird because it really just needed slight retouches & toned but she’s the professional.. I saw it in natural light and cried. Immediately begged someone else to fix it. It’s been almost 6 months and I’m still recovering from her work. Update: Alexis reached out to me and offered either a refund or a free service. I thought that was really admirable on her half and appreciated her reaching out after having read my review. I did appreciate this aspect of her customer service!

Alexis Henry in loft #1 should be avoided at all costs. I also had a horrible experience with Alexis and it'll take a few appointments with another actual professional stylist to fix my hair. I wish I read these reviews before going to her because there's not one embellishment in any of her several 1 star negative reviews. She was very rough with my hair causing me a lot of pain, she didn't take time to highlight my hair or fill in color around my roots/face that I asked for and ruined the beautiful dimensional color I had before her touching my head, didn't use toner until I asked and she didn't like that and let toner sit for 2 minutes, she was careless with blow drying my hair and kept burning my head and tugging at my hair causing neck pain and blowing it directly in my ear which was so painful. My hair has worn down and broke off from her mix of color too. She also gave attitude when I asked for a curl style at the end. She complained about a cancelation from another customer, talked about not having any regular clients (it's obvious why), talked about being hung over and TikTok (on her phone as much as possible). My hair appointments usually take 2 1/2 - 3 hours but Alexis spent a rushed 1 hour 15 mins for my appointment. For the sake of the health of your hair and experience, do not go to Alexis. Her carelessness, poor attitude and roll out of bed appearance/brand is very telling she picked the wrong career. Alexis in loft #1 gives Salon Lofts a horrible reputation.

Emily Loyer in Loft 1 is a true hair artist! She is the first Stylist that I have really, really enjoyed seeing, since I moved in the area in 2016. She has a fantastic personality and is a joy to spend the time that it takes to have your hair highlighted/colored, cut and styled -and you leave there feeling much better than you expect to be, because she does such a phenomenal job!

Got my first Contour Spa treatment today and saw immediate results! The staff is extremely professional, knowledgable, and pleasant. The space was inviting and extremely clean. Such a wonderful experience and will be going back very soon.

Had a hair treatment and cut with Danielle today and she was absolutely incredible! Only complaint is the noise from the next booth. Made it so hard to have a conversation because it was so loud.

I went to Alexis in March for balayage. My normal. She didn't face Frame highlight like I wanted, so I asked to come back in. She fit me in, but it was obvious she wasn't thrilled. She had a haircut come in while I was processing and sat me under the dryer on the highest heat setting (with bleach). She toned (left it on for 2 seconds max) - I looked and it was insanely yellow so she toned again, 2 seconds... still bad. I was so frustrated. I left with wet hair bc it was obvious she didn't want to be doing my hair and it was awkward. I dried my hair at home and my face highlights were fried and my hair had fallen out. I've never had a worse experience and still - months later - my hair is fried and horrid. Do not go to Alexis. She also used the highest heat setting on the dryer and it hurt sooo bad. She is so unprofessional and does not care about her clients.

So, I've never felt manhandled by a hair stylist before, but Alexis changed that. I'm fairly certain that only half of my hair got wet when she washed it, and since the water was sprayed on my hair for only about 5 seconds, it most likely was not thoroughly rinsed either. I wasn't given a mirror to see the back of my hair, but I'm hoping it's fine because I didn't want to prolong the abuse. When she dried my hair, she used the hottest setting on the dryer, and aimed it only at my ear, which wasn't wet because it was on the side that she missed when washing my hair. She mercifully didn't use any of her dirty brushes while drying my hair, but her hand-tousseling nearly gave me whiplash. Her work station was also filthy. Stains and food crumbs everywhere. Her tools were also repulsively dirty. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars is because the actual cut is fine. But absolutely not worth the injuries that came with it.

I went in on Sunday and had a 3:45 appointment time with Jennifer. We arrived at 3:30 and wasn't seen until almost 4:40.We told her we wanted to go from colored black hair to light brown. She just started on it and said she would try and see what happens getting it in one or two more visits. She got done a hour later just putting in highlights and said we'd have to come back four more times and charged me $170 for the first visit...so doing the math quickly in my head 5 × $170= $850. I believe she took advantage of me because I told her I didn't know anything about hair and that I am a plumber. For her to just start on my daughter's hair without giving us a price is crazy and then for her to say $170 blows my mind. What if I didn't have $170... so now I have to take her somewhere else to finish the job. I have already called another salon and they told me the first visit shouldn't have cost anywhere near that and it should be no more than two visits. I will add to this review tomorrow after taking her to the salon and find out how much I should have paid.

I went to Alexis for a balayage + cut + style on November 9th where I had requested a balayage with some copper/red woven in (which is what I requested for my previous balayage at another salon & loved how it turned out; sadly that stylist moved away) but I was quite horrified with the end result. I wanted to wait until I was able to get a true second opinion & my hair was properly fixed before writing this review, and things were way worse than I thought. I have had several balayages before, so I know that they typically take a few hours to complete, but I was in & out of Alexis’ chair in 45 minutes, no balayage & no style. What I had were more along the lines of chunky highlights & lowlights, except for the fact that the new stylist I went to to fix this mess said that I was missing at least 15 foils on the right side of my head & that there didn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to the placement of them. I had reached out to Alexis to see about getting a bit of money back for the lack of style & receiving chunky highlights & lowlights instead of the requested balayage, but we were not able to come to an agreement. So there went $220 down the drain plus an additional ~$350 to get everything corrected (which took 2 visits to the new salon to cover up the mess). I would not recommend Salon Lofts or Alexis to anyone. Instead, go over to Pleij and ask for Taylor. She’s amazing, listens to her clients, & takes her time to get you what you want rather than rushing you out the door.
