James is truly talented when it comes to haircolor. For now, I am blonde with highlights and lowlights, and the depth looks so natural! He is also amazing at blending root growth. I've been coming every 5 weeks for 15 years, and James nails every cut and color that I request!

James is the true original mixologist- able to brighten my extremely thick fine hair just the perfect natural shade strawberry blonde and finish with an expert cut and style. Strangers will even stop me to compliment the shine and color.

I had a wonderful experience with James. I wasn’t sure if he was going to get me in at exactly 12:15 as he had stated my appointment time would be, but he was right on the nose and even had two other people going already. Showed him the haircut. I wanted and got exactly that. Beautiful haircut. Said he’s been doing it for 36 years. A master of his trade. Have a return appointment. Definitely going to keep him. wonderful personality as well.

Aside from the issue, Emily was generally friendly and did an excellent job on my sister's hair. I booked an appointment to get a women's haircut yesterday, Emily postponed the appointment once before rescheduling me completely for today. not a big deal, we were able to work it into our schedule just fine. The issue arose towards the end of the appointment when I expressed my unhappiness with the cut, I had brought pictures of what I wanted from many different angles and Emily spent no time looking at them before cutting. She told me she couldn't work around the longer strands above my ears and that she was out of time. She explained to us that the cut should've taken 2 hours for what I wanted but on the website a women's cut is 45 minutes so how were we supposed to know this?? I left with a haircut that I'm not happy with and I will not be returning.

I love Salon Mir! Emily has been cutting my hair for 15 years and does an excellent job. I have very curly hair which can be tricky but Emily knows exactly how to manage it for a great cut and I often get compliments. Strangers have even asked me who does my hair! Emily has a flexible schedule and I know I’ll get in when I need to, which is so convenient. The salon is very welcoming and even my kids look forward to going to see “Miss Emily” and James. Highly recommend!

Emily is my life savor! I found her after another salon turned my hair fire engine red before my friends wedding back in early summer of 2021. I used to work in Power in Light Bar District, so appearances mean everything when it comes to making tips. This is the only hair salon I go to now. I have brought in my family members to her from time to time. She is worth the 40 minute drive! And I always feel more confident after my appointments.

I love JAMES at Salon Mir! He’s magic! Many years ago, I went to James after hearing so many great compliments about his coloring and cuts. Plus they told me about what a dear human he is! My blonde colored hair was fried from years of being over bleached. Bleach hasn’t touched my head since I’ve gone to James! As a public figure, 1000s of people have seen me on stage and have complimented me on my beautiful color and healthy hair - thanks to James and his wizardry! Ta-dah! James did his magic once again! James is the best hair colorist in Kansas City area! What I appreciate and love is He uses non ammonia color 😃 Which has strength my thinning hair. Taking me from a average brunette To a shiny deep rich brown with beautiful undertones. The color is consistent every time. I always know when I see James my hair will look spectacular!!

Sent my mother here for a balayage with Emily. She didn't end up getting a balayage, but that's not a bad thing. My mom told her what her goals were, and Emily met the brief! When you meet a stylist that listens and delivers, you shouldn't go anywhere else!

I was initially quite happy with the salon and gave it a very positive review. Upon returning for my second visit the stylist, Emily - seemed like she had no idea who I was. The complaints I'd come in with the first time; brassy highlights and poor colororing was repeated tenfold on the second visit! When I called a week later to express my disappointment she texted back she could give me a conditioner to fix it. I replied that that would not fix the color and she couldn't understand what happened, she did offer me an appointment. However, when I expressed the need for an urgent appointment due to important upcoming events she neglected to respond at all. At this point I simply cannot trust her with my hair. I will not return. Just awful. Super disappointing. Judge for yourself does this look orange and black or natural to you?!

Salon Mir is the most comfortable, lovely hair salon ever. I am blessed to have James's salon fairly nearby to my residence, which is so helpful, to be able to see Emily for my hair, for both styling and color and be able to converse from time to time with the James. This is the most congenial, never stressed out hair salon in Kansas City, and until I found Salon Mir I've been to many salons! Thank you, James and Emily!

I highly recommend Salon Mir and James for hair color. I was unsatisfied with my brassy bleached blonde until James was recommended! He knew immediately how to change my color to a soft vibrant blonde. Completely satisfied with my Salon Mir experience and would recommend to all!
