I had an absolutely amazing experience with Mina Choi! Let me tell you, Mina is a true expert in Korean hairstyling and techniques—an authentic Korean hairstylist who’s incredibly skilled, kind, and gentle. I got my straightening perm done last week, and the results are phenomenal! For context, I’ve been getting this process done for over 15 years (that’s 10+ straightened perms), so I know exactly what to expect—and Mina exceeded all my expectations. She is legit! Her attention to detail and her ability to work with thick black hair is unmatched. And her assistant! - She was so attentive, kind, and had the highest level of customer service (so sorry I didn’t catch your name! 😭). My hair came out silky, smooth, and healthier-looking than ever. If you’re looking for top-tier care and stunning results, Mina and her team are the ones to go to! Highly recommend! + Oh, and Mina did an amazing job cutting my hair! I save so much time managing it now. :)

Orlando, FL. So Korean perms are the buzz on YouTube, for women and men. Also Korean beauty products and cosmetic surgery—-in these fields Korea is way advanced over, well, the rest of the world. At least that’s what I’m hearing from my daughter’s SoCal friends, Allure magazine and my Florida friends. I decided to try a Korean perm because I’ve had American permanent waves all my life (in Hawaii, Nebraska Aveda salons, and Florida private salons) and was hoping for a better outcome. Americans use smaller rods and I was always disappointed with how tight and unattractive my perm would look for at least two weeks with American perms. Also Americans use the same size rods all over your hair so my bangs would look like a poodle’s pouf or like my grandma’s perm. Here at Salon Ombré the process was different after the shampoo. By the way, Jennifer washed my hair in the most comfortable washing station chair I’ve ever experienced. Then Mina trimmed layers into my hair—before the perm, not after like in American salons. She also applied the perm solution to my hair before applying the rods. I asked what they were because they didn’t smell obnoxious like American perms can. Mina said they were milder perm products from Korea. I hate how American stylists would apply the perm solution after rolling your wet hair: the ends of my hair wouldn’t get as much curl because they were tucked inside, next to the rod. This Korean approach made so much sense!!! Mina deftly applied two rods to the strands at the crown of my head, for volume. She used larger rods for my bangs. She used different colored rods for the rest of my hair. I sat under gentle heat in a semi-sphere that, on the outside, looked like black and white hexagons. I loved that it wasn’t too hot in there. It was very comfortable. Mina said it would be 10 minutes of warmth and 20 minutes more. After washing out the perm solution and applying the neutralizer, Jennifer dried my hair. She showed me how to dry it. Finally Mina came to style my bangs and instructed me to me on how to care for my style at home. She said things my other, more expensive American stylists never said: Gently towel dry after washing blow dry the roots, spritz the ends lightly with water, apply the curl creme last, and don’t touch your hair until it’s completely dry. I love how my perm looks!!!!!!! Mina styled a celebrity’s hair when she lived in Irvine, CA. She doesn’t brag, but she heard I lived in Irvine, and said she lived there, too. So I asked her what she did in Irvine. I can see her working on a Hollywood set. The way she listened, asked questions, then efficiently executed what I asked for was confident and brilliant. Mina and Jennifer and every staff person there was easygoing, professional, kind, and great at listening. They also were good at making conversation and asking questions. I think everyone would benefit from a visit here to Salon Ombré. It’s worth the drive. Highly, highly recommended.

I got the digital perm by Mina and Jenny. They did an amazing job on my hair! You can book appointment ahead of time which is what I did. Mina is very experienced and takes her time to listen to what you’re wanting. The price is similar to most salons. I’m thankful to have found hair stylist that can work with my hair! I highly recommend this place!

When you need your stylist to: understand hair texture, be able to recommend a yes or no for a cut, that you need a cold perm to achieve the look, which product to use when hair is dry vs wet, and be direct in regards to a realistic outcome… Mina is IT! Efficient and knowledgeable! 1st pic is before, 2nd pic is what I requested, 3rd pic is after (I did not style exactly to 2nd pic). Mina knows her craft!

Got the double processing color, paid $300+ for it just for the color to fade away within 2 wks….didnt worth the price for me. Will try out their haircut but wasnt satisfied with the coloring part.

I am unsure if another owner acquired this salon, as its name was changed. I did have a decent haircut with Sarah before at a reasonable price. I don’t want to compare hairdressers as each has its featured strengths. However, $40, not including tips for a so-so haircut for men now, is quite overpriced.

This was of the best impromptu decisions that I’ve made. I have gone to Lotte many times and been curious about ombré salon and its stylist. I’m so glad that I took a chance and got my hair color here. I’ve been to other salons and left unhappy but I can say this is the first time I can say the stylist finally got my hair color right! I love it so much, will definitely be coming back.

I did a digital Perm and unfortunately 500$ later my hair is so damaged! I would not recommend this hair for a perm at all.

Mina cut & styled my hair. Thank you :) I found this salon through google. Book online or call the salon. English & Korean-speaking staff. Parking: easy Located inside lotte market I love the convenient location & that I can shop for my fav Asian beauty products/foods. The salon is well-lit, clean, & I was greeted immediately. Everyone is friendly :) I can tell Mina is well-experienced because when she shampoo my hair and massaged it, it felt amazing! She trim my haircut & styled it. Love it & thank you 🙏

UPDATE: Sarah is no longer there, new management and higher prices. Definitely not coming back. So sad. Excellent service! Sarah is definitely the best!! Super happy that I finally found a great hair dresser that can work on my unruly hair, leaving it manageable and beautiful!! Thank you Sarah!! My family and I will definitely be back! Blessings!! I heard this salon has a new ownership so I went with my wife to get a haircut. My wife was cut by a hairstylist named Su, said she’s not the owner, is an employee who only works during the weekday. She cut it in a stylish, Parting Style that is popularly known in Korea these days. My wife also loves how her hair got done so much that she said she would go get a perm next time. She said of all the haircuts she’s had in Orlando so far, this is best and she did a great job with the Korean style. I am leaving this review with the hope that the hairstylist stays here for a long time and not go somewhere else. I highly recommend the hairstylist, Su. Thank you

The haircuts are always great and so is the price but my family members and I have come here for multiple appointments and not once were we let in at our appointment time (usually anywhere from 10-30 minutes after our appointment they’ll let us know they’re ready- hence why I took one star off!)

I believe this salon is currently under new management and is nothing like the reviews make it out to be - everyone was very attentive and accomodating. Despite some mixed reviews concerned with a previous hair stylist, the current hair stylist was incredibly wonderful, kind, and helpful. Not only did Hwanhee help me through finding a hair color and style that I liked, she provided me with a level of care and service that I will never forget. If you are in the area and need someone you can trust with your hair, this is definitely a place that should be checked out!

Very nice cute shop very nice workers Amy did my hair she is very kind. I got a cold perm and it turned out really well i just got it done a few hours ago. Amy was very nice I got a perm even though i didn’t get an appointment. I do Recommended.

Finally!! A hair salon in Orlando that knows how to cut Asian hair! Don't be put off by past reviews, they've recently changed ownership and their new staff is absolutely amazing. The lady who did my hair was named Sarah - super friendly and knowledgeable. The salon itself is inside the Lotte Asian grocery store on the far left side when you enter the store. I was a little worried coming in because my hair was pretty botched from a different salon, but Sarah completely fixed everything!! After showing her the cut I wanted (two block haircut), she was able to give me exactly what I asked for from my reference photo. I was very impressed and could tell she'd be cutting hair for many years. The price was also super affordable especially for the quality of service. Lynx is easily the best salon I've been to in Orlando and will definitely be back for future haircuts. Give them a chance, I highly recommend them!

I came here with my two daughters in hopes to get a nice haircut before schools starts, but I was awfully surprised with the overall outcome. First off when we came in she didn’t wash either of my daughters’ hair, secondly she took only around 8 minutes for each haircut & they ended up looking the same as before. Lastly, we’ve been to many Asian-Owned hair salons, but none of them have been this overpriced ($106.61), especially for kids. All in all, this was not worth our money.

I live in Sarasota but come to Orlando often. I moved from NJ last year and originally just went to local barber shops (which didn’t cut my hair well) before I was recommended by my Orlando contacts of this hair salon. They are very kind and care about my hairstyle which is being restored. My only issue is that they don’t answer their phones well when I try to schedule my appointment, but the best time to call would be late morning.

The Price at lynx is really good, and the haircuts there are short and good as well. Sarah is very good at getting the haircut that you want and is very accommodating as well. Would definitely go again!

had to come all the way from Jax FL for a korean perm and haircut. they were able to fit me in for a late appointment and did a fantastic job. great customer service and had a overall positive experience here. be sure to check them out if you are looking for an authentic korean hair salon! =)
