I've been going to Salon on Barrington for about 5 years and highly recommend owner Kris and stylist Liz who are truly great at hair! I'm not...so I desperately needed people to help me that can. And they DO IT RIGHT! Very affordable, convenient and most importantly, experienced professionals. There aren't many places I highly recommend, but this is one for sure.

I had an appointment with stylist Sandra. I've seen her before for almost the same look. So everything was going pretty well until two more of her clients came in. That's when I noticed a change in movement and behavior. She sat me down for my haircut and then changed her mind, told me to wait so she could start with her other clients. All I needed done was the haircut she suggested and a blow dry. So one minute later, she came back to me and said, "I'll finish you up." She started to cut my hair, and I'm not sure what method she used, but I can tell it was not good and very rushed through. Then she begins to blow dry my hair and then stops halfway. She said I didn't cut enough. At this point, my hair is still wet and then tells me I should come back later so she can finish. To top it off, she wanted to charge me a stupid amount and didn't even finish the job. She had told me in the beginning that she likes to make her clients feel good and different. I did not get that feeling at all. I was upset and sad, for I was trying to do something different for myself for Mother's Day. Although the hair coloring wasn't too bad, I contemplated it very hard to write this review. I just don't want anyone else to have the same horrible experience.

Adriana is a world-class hair stylist. She is equally brilliant with cut and color, a perfectionist! I feel insanely lucky to have found her. She takes the time to really understand what you envision for your hair and makes it come true.

I went to the salon for the first time to get a haircut and had a great experience! Adriana cut my hair and did a phenomenal job! I’ve gotten many compliments from friends and family. The cut was the best I’ve gotten.

Maria is AMAZING! For any men with long hair looking for a salon that can sort you out, this could be it Was a bit nervous trying out a new salon for the first time.. that too, being a guy with long hair.. going somewhere usually frequented by mostly women Maria heard me out, worked with me to brainstorm ideas for what we could do.. and then did her magic. Very very happy with the end result!

Kris is the absolute best!! She is talented, funny and kind. She knows exactly how to cut my curly hair. This salon is a welcoming place that I look forward to coming to each time. Highly recommend!

Go to Amy if you want a hair stylist who doesn't listen to what you want. I asked her to trim my long hair 1 1/2 inches, and she cut off 6 inches. I know English may not be her first language, but a hairdresser should know the difference between 1 1/2 and 6. My hair will grow back, but I will never go back to this salon.

Absolutely great hairdresser. Since they are reopened they follow the guideline for covid to the letter. I was 4 minutes early for my appointment and could not get in the salon before 12 time of my appointment. Apparently they need to leave 30 minutes between customers and they did. Amazing.

I have been seeing Amy since she was in beauty school, though she was a professional hairdresser in Thailand! She is FANTASTIC at hair cuts and color. But what she does that no other hairdresser does is an unbelievable wash and scalp massage. Her hair styling is also FABULOUS since she will take her time and curl your hair and it lasts for days. I have sent many of my male and female friends to her as well as my whole family sees her. She also colors and shaves my husbands beard! She is a true find! The salon is cute and always puts out snacks, desserts, coffee, tea, water, wine and beer!

This team of stylists provide exceptional services and are #1 in sanitary and safety protocol. (which has always been their standard operating procedure). Best part - they are OPEN! I so look forward to appointments with Noushin at Salon on Barrington solely because of who she is ~ her talent (she is an exceptional colorist); creativity; her quiet, peaceful personality; extreme professionalism; and genuine interest in me as a client and as a human. This was my second time going to Salon on Barrington. My hair stylist, Liz, is AWESOME. She really takes her time with my hair, and she's amazing with consultation and using her expertise to make sure I get a cut that works for my hair type and face shape. (As someone with curly hair and a pixie cut, it is really easy to find stylists who don't know what they're doing.) This most recent time, I took the plunge and did a full bleach and dye. She totally nailed it. I also met the owner, Kris, who is an absolute delight. I spent 4 hours there and thoroughly enjoyed it. HIGHLY recommended! Bonus: they have wine and beer.

Absolutely outstanding cut. Came in looking shagadelic and left clean and crisp. Amy is the first stylist I've ever had that was able to correct an issue I have with my hair sticking out in one small spot. She expertly trimmed it up and it sits perfectly now. Definitely one of the best, if not THE best haircut and style I've had.

I went for a shampoo and blowout. I have hair that’s just below my shoulders. Not difficult hair to work with. I foolishly did not ask the price when I walked in but it’s a neighborhood salon on Barrington and National so how much could it be? Well it was $65!!!! Before tip, which I did not give. I was speechless. And it was not even a good blowout. I live in Manhattan and have a home in the Hamptons never have I paid that for a blowout any where in the world! Beware!

Kris the owner is the best. I have been getting my hair done by Kris for many years now and every time I am soo happy with my hair. I am always getting compliments on my hair. Kris is very experienced and makes it so easy. She is the best at what she does and really cares about her clients. She makes you feel like family. I would definitely recommend you make an appointment you will be so happy you did.
