Amanda is amazing! She pulled my hair out of the gutter. It was looking flat and sad and she added dimension with color without making my hair look 'colored.' She gives me styling tips and respects the fact that I need a super easy style.

I’ve gotten my hair colored, cut, & styled here twice and have had great experiences! The salon is super nice, clean, and stylish. Since moving to STL, I’ve been in search of a salon that is affordable, easily accessible, and provides good service. Lillian has done my hair both times and I’ve been very satisfied! She’s brought my inspo photos to life and is super sweet. Very conversational and complimentary. I’m not the biggest socializer and she respects that! Easily able to set up an appointment online without the phone calls and scheduling struggles. Happy to have found the place!

Had an awesome experience with Kai! I came in for partial highlights and Kai took the time to make sure my hair turned out perfect both color wise and haircut wise. I love the way it looks and highly recommend this place and Kai!

Really terrible. Please avoid. charged 50$ for a haircut that was no better than the typical 15$ cut at great clips or one of those chains. No method to the cut, just random grabbing of the hair and running scissors through. Do yourself a favor, and please avoid. No bueno.

Beautiful light filled space with Aveda products! Kelsey has done such a great job at keeping my fine baby hair healthy and strong. Highly recommend this salon!

I was nervous to get my hair done at a new salon after moving to St. Louis. I researched some salons across the city and chose Salon 1-6-1. My appointment was with Christina, and she did an amazing job fixing me up again after not having my hair done for 7 months. She did a full highlight and a cut. The way she cut my hair is exactly how I wanted it to look. The salon is cute and clean as well.

Came in for help showcasing my head tattoos and Kai cut and styled my hair to perfection. The space is beautiful and everyone was very friendly and inviting, couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thanks Kai!

Genuinely the best haircut I've ever gotten! Charlie is so knowledgeable and detailed, he really took the time to give me a perfect cut that suits my hair texture and he also taught me some tips and tricks for styling it. I will absolutely come here for all of my cuts in the future!

About 6 or so years ago, I came to Salon One Six One for the first time with horrible hair (trust me...horrible). Charlie worked some serious magic, and my confidence has been so much higher ever since. The studio is absolutely beautiful and all the staff are professional and wonderfully nice. After trying so many salons over the years, I just wish I had found Salon One Six One sooner!!

This salon has been my go to since moving to town last summer! I have seen Kelsey each time and she is incredible! I had been trying for the perfect face framing pieces for a long time and never satisfied and then she nailed it on the first try! She was super helpful when I was looking for advice on switching shampoos!

What can I say about Claire Williams Weaver? I have lost track of the times people have approached me and complimented either my hair color or my haircut. She immediately makes you feel comfortable, and every time I've recommended her to a friend that person has also had a great experience. Love my hairstylist. Update: Still love my Clair Hair! She’s the BEST

Christina saved my hair!! I went to a different salon and had a botched haircut and Christina preserved as much length as possible while fixing choppy and uneven pieces. The salon is beautiful and the staff is incredibly friendly and well trained.

I’ve been coming to this salon for probably a decade plus and never felt the need to try anywhere else. In this time I’ve mostly seen Charlie but when he is booked I don’t have any hesitation booking services with the other girls. They are all talented and easy to talk to. The salon is super clean and the location is great with plenty of parking. I like that I can book services online and receive text reminders.

I’ve been seeing Christina since 2019, after my husband originally stumbled upon her hairstyling glory. She has been nothing short of amazing. Every time I see her, it’s like seeing an old friend, but this old friend has endless, magical powers for hair. I am so incredibly thankful for her from our first meeting/consultation to present day. This salon is great, and I’ve been going here since 2017. Easy to get to location, and I love the Aveda products and philosophy. I always look forward to my haircuts, and appreciate the extra care given; especially the opportunity to come for between cut touch ups.

Essie is an amazing stylist! She put my anxiety about having my first professional haircut done to rest and understood exactly how I wanted my hair to look. The studio was clean and comfortable as well. I can't wait to go back.

Updated to 4 stars after Charlie, the owner, reached out. He is very professional and nice. He cut my daughters hair himself to straighten it and it looks great. The only reason I didn't give a 5 is because of the original issue. Other stylists at this salon may be wonderful but my daughter has been here twice in the last few months and some how got connected to Essie. My daughter's hair is choppy and uneven. She has long straight hair that should be simple to cut. Yesterday the front of her hair was not even cut. I understand for short hair there is a new style that has the front long and the back short but when your hair is middle of the back that is not attractive and is not what she asked for! When she went back today to have it corrected Essie told her that it looked like that because she did not want layers then she preceded to have her look both ways and cut from a side angle. My daughter is 23 years old and this is the strangest cut she has ever received. It still is not straight but we will find a new salon!

I’ve been getting my hair cut, colored, and highlighted by Kelsey for years! Mostly highlights, trims, & bangs nowadays but we’ve also gone red, purple, and a super cute angled Bob in the past. I bring in a picture and she brings it to life. She’s the best and I always leave feeling so pretty & pampered.
