I had the pleasure of visiting Hair Salon Pillar in Germantown on a Friday afternoon, and I cannot rave enough about my experience! I had done 3 weeks worth of research (I am an economic analyst so by training, I do so much research ) before finally booking my appointment. I don't play with texture chemical treatments and wanted the absolute best. Salon Pillar came first place in the shortlist. The owner has a holistic approach to hair care. She took the time to assess my hair type and offered great advice on how to maintain health and strength, WITHOUT JUDGEMENT. I do like relaxers and do struggle with judgements when I ask for one to hair stylists. She showed none of that. Stayed very professional, spoke about the root causes of my traction alopecia, provided guidance, also mentioned the pros and cons of relaxers etc. and options I have. I truly appreciated it. Not only was she incredibly skilled (takes care of your hair with ease), she also has a fantastic sense of humor that kept me entertained throughout my appointment, literally! I laughed so much while she worked on my hair, and it honestly felt more like a catch-up with a friend than a salon visit. She also very knowledgeable about so many things and sensitive to cultures... I left Hair Salon Pillar not just with a fabulous and sleek new haircut that perfected hid my alopecia, but also with valuable insights. It was a refreshing experience, and I felt rejuvenated both inside and out! I felt so chic, I could not go straight home. If you're looking for a hair salon that combines skill, knowledge, and a bit of fun, I highly recommend giving Hair Salon Pillar a visit. I can't wait to go back for my next appointment!

I found Pilar about 3 years ago. She is the best that by that has ever happened to my hair. Shine, movement, growth, & density. Pilar does my color every 3 weeks… & to top it all off she starts every work day @ 5am. I am literally outta the salon by 630am/7am. In addition, the salon atmosphere is calming and is a great location. I’m so glad I reached out.

I have finally found a real hair salon. This has to be the best recommendation I've ever gotten. Pilar genuinely cares about my hair and my time. My hair looks gorgeous, healthy, and beautiful. Pilar is not only a wonderful person, she is a true professional. She's someone that I can talk to and be real with. I’m not one to leave reviews but need to express the great experience I had at Salon Pilar. I’m at the tail end process of transitioning back to natural after a few years of getting relaxers and had been looking for a good place to my hair done in Philadelphia. I was welcomed by was a warm, friendly greeting, seated promptly and asked about my hair history (Vert impressed at that part as I feel that’s often skipped over these days). Pilar clearly has a very deep knowledge of hair care. I love love the way my hair turned out and I’m looking forward to going back to get my hair colored as well. Highly recommend this salon if you’re looking for a professional, welcoming environment and high quality service.

UK based but I was staying in Philadelphia for a while and WOW! I have never been on the receiving end of such great and attentive service. Best blowout & trim i’ve had to date. I’ve been back in my country for a while now and my hair still feels so healthy and looks as shiny and bouncy as ever. I will be going nowhere else for my hair the next time I’m in PA 🩷

After years of wigs and braids, I’m beginning a healthy hair journey. I researched plenty of salons in my area and Salon Pilar consistently received 5-star reviews, so I decided to give her a try. I’m so glad I did. Not only is she professional, she’s passionate about providing her clients with an exceptional experience. We discussed the health of my hair and ways to improve my hair health going forward. I wasn’t there all day (in and out in under 1.5 hours). The products she used are also available for purchase which is a huge plus. Overall, she exceeded my expectations and has officially gained a new repeat client.

The space is clean, cozy, and welcoming, making me feel at ease the moment I walked in. Charmagne is a true expert in her craft. Love my hair 💕 I wanted to give my hair a rest from wearing wigs so tried these clip ins instead. Pilar blended it so well with my hair. I’m so happy with the results. I can tell she really cares about the condition of your hair. She’s a legit hair care specialist!! She washed my hair, hydrated it, clipped my ends.I left feeling like a Queen. With Pilar being a colorist in New York she brings all the latest & hottest trends back to Philly for her client's to experience. I regulary get color for grey coverage & highlights. During the start of the summers, i get a keratin treatment to help control my frizz & curl. Pilar is worth every penny...

Went in for the 10 minute consultation in which Pilar assessed my hair and made the recommendation for Kertain treatment to make my hair more manageable and she also that using lower quality products was damaging my hair. She was very honest with assessment and asked me what I wanted for my own hair. Afterwards I scheduled my 1st appointment for a keratin treatment and blow dry and trim and Style. The appointment went great and my hair has so much bounce which is what I was looking for.I've already scheduled my next appointment
