Marissa is an amazing hairstylist with a warm and friendly personality. The environment is comfortable and most importantly she knows what she's doing. She's been caring for my hair for 1 years now and I am always satisfied.

I went in for a natural haircut. I wanted all of my relaxed hair removed, and a bob cut for the end result. I was told that the back would be just a tad bit longer than the front which I was fine with because that’s how layers usually work. I did not agree to have an uneven cut as far as the slant that you can see in the picture. I was also asked if I wanted my silk press bone straight. I preferred my hair to be bone straight. Once I realized that it was bumped under instead of straight, I did not get upset instantly because the hair style did look really cute. It wasn’t until a day or two of wrapping my hair when it flattened out that I realized, and everyone else mentioned that my haircut looked horrible and very uneven. I was very upset that the unevenness was hidden from me with the bump bob instead of informing me that the haircut did not turn out well. I was given my money back just for the cut and eventually after asking multiple times, the tip money was given back to me as well. I did not receive the money back for the silk press. The only reason I did not give Marissa a one star was because she had a very sweet and inviting personality but to hide something like that was very unprofessional of her.

I wish I could give Marissa more than 5 stars! I enjoyed every part of the process of getting my hair done. Marissa made me feel comfortable and was a great conversation piece for the entirety of the appointment. In addition, Marissa treated my hair with so much care and attention to detail, and I loved how it turned out.

1st time receiving hair services from Marissa: color and hydration (steam). Marissa is extremely knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to be around. Her suite is clean & welcoming. My hair color turned out amazing. The steam hydration session made my scalp feel great and my curls happy! Marissa has a new client.

Marissa is nothing short of amazing in her talents! Found her randomly on a Google search and have not looked back. Finally decided that I wanted to lock my hair after all these years and she has made the transition easy. She has calmed my nerves and turned them into joy with my hair looking amazing today as I left the salon! My two strand twists will soon become locs and they are looking beautiful because of her! Definitely come to her for all of your natural care needs. Also, Marissa is wonderful and fun to talk to!

Marissa at Salon Purity is absolutely amazing! I discovered Marissa a few years ago while she was at another salon, but she left shortly after. After searching for years (I couldn’t remember her full name), I’ve finally found her! Not only is she one of the kindest people, but she is also amazing at what she does. I highly recommend Marissa for all of your hair care needs! I promise you won’t regret it.

I went to Salon Purity for a wash, condition, and trim of my natural 4C hair. Marissa did a wonderful job caring or my hair and scalp! She assessed my hair needs and described the products she used on my hair. I left there with clean hair, wonderfully stimulated scalp, and a couple of cute braids in a fraction of the time it takes me to do my own hair. "Wash day" got cut down to an hour start to finish. I am DEFINITELY going back for my ongoing hair & scalp care. Her salon is beautifully decorated, too. I love the live plants. I highly recommend Marissa and Salon Purity for your natural hair care needs.

Just about a year ago I started my transition to natural hair. I begin this journey for two reasons, because I could lol, and I wanted to work out as much as I pleased without always being concerned about my hair. So, over the last year I have been sporting some cool protective styles thanks to two of my dear friends. Yesterday was the start of the next chapter of my journey!! During the year I was thinking about how I would wear my hair once I was relaxer free. I had a good amount of hair growth during this time…but I was really liking the tapered cuts that I was seeing. Then I decided to research the area for a hair stylist that specialized in natural hair…and was so excited to find Marissa!! Her website was very engaging. We had an initial consultation to discuss my hair and get an idea what direction I wanted to go in at this point of my journey. I was very impressed with Marissa’s knowledge and her desire to ensure her clients have healthy hair… she made me feel very comfortable with my decision to get color and a tapered cut😊. When I left the salon yesterday, I had the look that I had envision when I stared this natural journey. The icing on the cake was that we had initially discussed doing additional highlights on the top of my hair…however because of the dark color already deposited on my hair it was not working…so instead of forcing it with a process that would be damaging to my hair…she insisted that we wait and do the highlights another time!! A true professional. My husband loved my hair as well and the added bonus is that she is already teaching me how to manage my hair…whether I decide to keep the tapered look or let it grow. So, looking forward to this chapter of my journey…thank you Marissa for being a part of it!

Marisa is AMAZING. I have been getting my locs done by her for awhile now and she has been nothing short of phenomenal. She is very knowledgeable about natural hair in general and locs in particular. She give great suggestions on growth and hair up keep and even eating right because the hair is all apart of the body! I would definitely recommend her and cannot wait to see her expand and take on more!

The space is adorable and Marissa is a breath of fresh air. Super sweet and attentive to making sure I got what I was hoping for. Got a tapered cut and I love iiittt. And she understands our natural hair needs :) 11/10 recommend

This is one of the best hair experiences I have ever had. Marissa spends time on HAIR CARE and not just the process of doing hair. Her personality makes you extremely comfortable. I have traveled from the Virgin Islands a second time just to get the experience. I definitely will be back.
