I was grateful to be a walk-in for just a haircut. I enjoyed the owner’s chit chat and obvious technique and skill. However, he ended up having to rush a bit because a regular client walked in… so my layering is a bit off in the back. However, I still recommend. Just call for an appointment first!

I have finally discovered a salon that meets my needs. My stylist is Ron, the manager. He is such a friendly person. I don't go anywhere else for my haircut. Sometimes I wait for a week if Ron is busy. Highly recommended.

I always have a great experience with Salon Sophia and Ron! He knows what I like, he’s quick but detailed, makes great conversation and is kind. This salon has a great story and great people who work there. Tell them what you want and they’ll do it! Highly recommend.

I traveled to KC last minute to attend a memorial service. I wasn’t able to get an appointment with my stylist in Boston before departing so was scrambling to find an appointment that could accommodate me last minute for a cut and color. Luckily, I stumbled upon excellent reviews for Salon Sophia and reached out. I spoke to Maggie who was amazingly kind and understanding. She was able to book me in for a color and cut in a Saturday with less than 2 weeks notice. When I arrived, I was warmly greeted by my stylist Ron and offered a beverage. Despite being an out of town client, I was treated like a regular. Ron did an outstanding job dealing with my resistant grays. His attention to detail was amazing, his color application was immaculate (no dark brown halo left around my hairline) and my cut was superb. Maggie also did a wonderful job shaping my brows- no pain and no redness! Thank you so much to the Salon Sophia team for reducing my stress and ensuring I can feel confident & look my best during a sad time for my family. Next time I’m in town, I will be back!

Maggie was exceptional with her customer service and the quality of work she did. She did explain what we are looking into budget wise and possible outcome of the service from that day. She was very friendly, calm and knowledgeable.

I've been going to Salon Sophia for at least 15 years and have never left disappointed. Ron seems to intuitively know if I want to go lighter or shorter with only a few words on my part - he's amazing with highlight/lowlights. I also usually get in with little to no notice, which is great since I'm a procrastinator! I always go in blah & leave happy with gorgeous hair. I highly recommend them!!

Highly recommend Salon Sophia. Ron and Maggie are excellent at their craft. I have had my hair done all over the city and they are the best in my book. My hair finally has the right color and cut for my face. Thank goodness I found this place. Try it you will be glad you did!

I had a wonderful experience at Salon Sofia! Maggie did a beautiful balayage and cut. She was very in tune with what I was looking for and how my specific hair would respond to color. She is truly an expert. I would recommend her whole heartedly and can’t wait to go back.

If I could give this place ZERO STARS I would. Horribly rude to their customers, not helpful. Disgusting and dirty. Not sure they ever mop. People at the front desk don’t even acknowledge your presence. Would NOT recommend to anyone.

I’m new in KC and pretty picky. The colorists here know their trade. They had to color correct due to a prior highlighting job that was expensive and awful (think ashy and green/ish). The folks here are not flashy. They are talented. Especially for color, I will only be heading here from now on. Don’t sleep on it. Excellent talent.

Offered exceptional service and a top notch experience. My husband and I were in town and he desperately needed a hair cut we didn’t have time for back home. They were able to squeeze him in and gave him a great cut and even a beard trim. I wish we lived closer so we could go to this salon regularly. 10/10!

Went to a barber and they completely butchered my hair. I found Salon Sophia in hopes that I could get it fixed, and boy was that an understatement! Ron was able to undo the damage and restore confidence in my hair; also at a great price! Would definitely recommend. I will definitely be going back regularly!

Wish I could give it zero stars. My mom is in a wheelchair and has been to this salon twice before. She does not need help transferring in the salon or anything they just wash her hair and cut and color. The third time she went to this salon they were HORRIBLE to her. Blatantly discriminating against her because of her physical disability. The man in the front was yelling at her that she needs someone to stay and help her while in the salon. She repeatedly asked why she needed someone to help her when the last time she came there was no issue and he just continued to tell her she needed help. Eventually she just turned around and left. I am disgusted at how rude and cruel these people could be. It is so incredibly wrong to treat a human being that way. I hope this place runs out of business.

Employee screwed up scheduling time and the other gentlemen worker was extremely rude and misunderstanding. Wouldn’t recommend coming here, a complete waste of my time. Incredibly unprofessional, very disrespectful customer service. After I told the man that I cannot come any other time because I specifically scheduled for this day, he told us to leave immediately. That was very unprofessional and I wouldn’t recommend for anyone to come into this salon because of how they treat their customers.

I was referred to this Salon by a friend of mine when I moved from Florida to MO. I am so glad I did! Salon runs by wonderful husband and wife team. I have seen both of their job and can tell that they are on top of their game. I have long (but thin) hair . So I need highlights and cuts. Ron have done amazing job. Feel like a move star when I visit this place!! Highly recommend them!!!

i think it is a good salon for simple things like haircuts etc I went to get highlights on my hair and I’m not sure if it was because I was paying less but after they had put color one of the employees brushed my hair to hard which caused my hair to fall out as it would with any hair type after bleaching and putting toner and hair color! Anyways I got home and realized that hair from my root line was completely missing like someone took a razor and ran through my hair! definitely recommend asking for a test strand or just being causious about this I payed $170 or reference

I feel like I won the lottery in finding this salon. It was by chance my daughter and I walked in because we were in Kansas city visiting and at the Country club plaza.Ron gave me the best haircut of my life. .he knew immediately how to cut and style my hair. It took years of of me .I had to drive far but I came back to get my hair colored and cut again by Ron. He did another amazing job. Maggie his wife worked on my eyebrows and she made my eyebrows look the best ever too. I highly recommend this salon. I understand why their business has such great reviews..they both really know their jobs so well and they were both so kind and easy to get a last minute appointment with! I'm sure you will get the same experience. It too will change your life. I've been to many salons but this is my very favorite because you don't have to do much explaining..they just know how to make you look your very best.

I have been getting my haircut at Salon Sophia for the past two years and I wish I would have come in sooner! I started going per my two younger brothers’ recommendations, as they loved how their haircuts turned out. The place is exceptionally well kept, and the barbers and stylists are fantastic at what they do! Everyone is very personable and does a great job of making you feel comfortable.

I stumbled into Salon Sophia today during my shopping outing at the Country Club Plaza. I live in another state. My hair needed color, so I went in. I was hesitant at first as I’d no knowledge of the place. But, what a surprise! Ron happened to have an opening. Ron colored my hair and highlighted it. He is fantastic! The owners are so nice. Love how my hair turned out.

My sister, who lives in Overland Park, found this place and recommended it to me. I have been coming here for 20 years now. I drive over from Topeka and it is well worth it! Ron & Maggie do a wonderful job with color, highlight, cut and style. I’ve tried other places close to me but haven’t been happy with the color and highlight. Salon Sophia does a fantastic job at a very reasonable price and does it in reasonable amount of time. I come in every month to get my hair done. They are very efficient, kind, friendly and knowledgeable about hair products and up to date techniques. They care about you as a person which makes the experience that much more enjoyable! Last time I was in Ron took the time to draw me a map to help me get to the airport faster since there was construction in the surrounding area. I highly recommend this salon! My mom comes here too!
