Too many great things to say about Sovay and her entire salon team. On top of always leaving the salon feeling beautiful, she took the time to get to know me personally, she doesn’t insist you buy certain products, she has showed me how to style my hair that I’ve struggled with for years, she (and her crew) are so pleasant to chat with while she is working on my hair. She is especially amazing with my long Asian hair!! I quite literally love her. So real and so talented at her work.

I cannot recommend Sovay enough! Not only is she’s incredibly talented when it comes to both cuts and color, but the level of customer service is unmatched. I love Savoy! Have been going for the last year and she truly has transformed my hair. I went to her with greenish tint from an over toned highlight job and she fixed it in one go! I’ve never looked or felt better.

The BEST hair colorist and stylist in Austin, and in Texas if I’m being honest. She knows her way around the bowl and can help you achieve your dream hair. I get a tight highlights and a light dusting on the ends. She never cuts too much and always gets my color perfect! I hope she never leaves us ❤️

I got the worst haircut of my life at this salon in December 2023. Over 6 months later and I’m still trying to fix the damage. Nearly a $300 haircut for easily the most incompetent service I’ve ever received. Simple layers somehow turned into over 3 hours. I was so ready to jump off the chair. By far my worst experience in Austin and elsewhere. Avoid this place

I have been a client of Sovay’s x 17 years… she originally saved me from a New Years Eve catastrophe… needless to say I have been SO grateful for her … she is truly a master at her trade…most of my blowouts are still rocking x 3 nights…my highlights with long layers always attract the highest compliments … she is an absolute genius !

I’ve been a client at Salon Sovay for almost 4 years now, so this review is overdue. I’ve had some pretty terrible hair experiences so I’m super cautious and get major anxiety every time I move. And I’ve moved cities about 8 times post college. Finding someone who does a natural looking blonde highlight is pretty difficult to find. I absolutely hate chunky highlights and brassy overtones. I also hate uniform color highlights. You will get none of those with Sovay. I’m so glad that I found Sovay and highly recommend her, especially if you have blonde hair. She is a master of her craft! She is extremely detail oriented and is very skilled at a multi-dimensional light blonde with baby fine highlights. Her cuts are also fantastic - nice long layers and framing. Since going to Sovay, my hair is much longer and healthier. I think that’s a combination of her advice on products (LOVE k18!) and by putting in such fine highlights, she minimizes the overall processing and damage. Quality of my hair color and cut is my first priority when looking for a stylist, but it’s even better when you enjoy spending time with that person. Sovay is smart and kind. She cares deeply about her work and you can tell it is her passion. She always has interesting observations about the world - there is never a dull moment!

I have been coming to Sovay for haircut and color for over 10 years now. She is the best stylist I’ve ever had. She listens yet makes recommendations based on her professional opinion and the amount of maintenance I’m willing to give my hair ( she always steers me in the right direction and knows my vibe…low maintenance) She has seen my hair go thru changes as I’ve gotten older and it always turns out fabulous. Not only is she a great stylist but a great person! I highly recommend you come see Sovay. She’s the best!!!

Sovay is a hair wizard! I used to walk out of hair appointments feeling like my hair wasn't quite "me."  But then I found Sovay, and it’s been a game-changer. Sovay totally gets the whole "beachy vibes" look.  She cuts and styles my hair in a way that's fresh and effortless, like I just rolled off the California coast (even though I live halfway across the country now).  No matter what we're doing - a trim, a whole new cut, or some highlights - she always nails it.  My hair feels healthy and looks amazing. Plus, Sovay is just awesome.  She's a great listener and easy to talk to, so coming in for a service is like hanging out with a friend (while getting your hair done). I also think she’s the best stylist in Austin, especially when it comes to long layered haircuts. You know that feeling when you show a hairstylist an inspo pic and you’re a little concerned that it might not turn out the way you want it to? And then you leave the salon and it’s.. not what you were expecting? Sovay is a hair ARTIST. She will take your inspo pics, the ones you probably have saved on your Pinterest board- and make it reality. I wouldn’t even be surprised if some of the inspo pics on your Pinterest board are Sovay’s work. I went in with inspiration photos, for a pretty dramatic (to me) haircut and I had that feeling, like, is even this doable? Two minutes in, sitting in Sovay’s chair, did I know I was in really good hands- that concern was gone. Three things that stood out to me during my session: - Sovay will ask you questions throughout your haircut- not just one or two questions. “Do you like this length?” *cuts shorter* “Okay how about now?” “What are your thoughts on this?” While also referencing the photos you’ve showed her. - Sovay will ask you questions, but she will also tell you if she doesn’t think something will look good in relation to your face shape. So important! - She takes her time, there is no rush whatsoever. Sovay really wants you to love your hair and that’s exactly how I felt when I left her salon. And, as a bonus, Sovay is a really cool person to talk to. I really enjoyed our conversations; it was like talking to a very knowledgeable friend. The ambiance of her salon was also super cool. Your session is in your own room so it’s a really personalized experience. Thank you Sovay.

I loved my experience with David! It was my first time getting a salon experience. I’m a guy, so it’s only ever been barbers & speedycuts. Though David made the experience so easy & enjoyable. He gave me some recommendations & his opinion about the haircut. I’m so happy with how it turned out! 10/10 ! :)

Horrible experience! I came to the front door just before my appointment. It was 103 degrees outside (late July). I was in my professional work clothes. There is a couch just inside the door in the air conditioning. The man who came to the door would not let me in to wait inside. He closed the door in my face twice and locked the door, making me wait outside in the heat. The second time he opened the door to let someone else in, I asked if I could come in and wait in the cool, and he said no. He said we are not using this area (the couch) as a waiting room for security reasons because there is crime in the area. No apology, no smile. Just shut the door in my face again and locked me out. I sat there waiting in the heat by myself in this supposedly dangerous neighborhood for 20 minutes and then left. If it is unsafe, why not let the client wait in the air conditioning and lock the client IN, not OUT?! That is no way to treat clients. I will never be going back to this location.

I have been a client of a.k.b. since 2021 and I have thick blonde curly hair that is typically a challenge for most stylist but he took it on with easy and grace. I now have a perfect natural blonde and grew my hair out to the perfect inspirational haircut of Gisele B. He could not be more attentive to details. He takes the necessary time needed to do a great job. My blow outs last at least 5 days. I am a very satisfied client. I highly recommend him as your hair designer.

I’ve been a client of Salon Sovay since 2017. I’ve always had highlights but it was getting to the point where my hair was going full blond. I wanted my highlights back but no one seemed to understand what I was asking for until I met Sovay. I was absolutely floored with what she accomplished in my very first appointment. My hair looked like it was the first time I had it highlighted. It reminded me of my beautiful (young) hair I had in high school and I’m 49 years old! I’m a client for life now! Thank you Sovay. Sovay is a talented artist. She revived my hair back to life in such a limited time for a wedding. I arrived with brassy and frizzy orange colored split ends. Yet with her thorough and detailed skill, she gave me the best balayage and hair cut. She truly cares about her clients and takes the time to explain every product she uses and why. Sovay made it a point to follow up with me on a Sunday afternoon to dedicate more time to my hair because the previous time was cut short. She washed, blowdried, and colored my hair again just to perfect her craft! She is a breath of fresh air to speak with. For the first time in a long time I can confidently let my hair down again. Salon Sovay is great for all hair needs I've been going to Salon Sovay for nearly 6 years - Sovay fixed a botched "lob" haircut and since then, I've successfully grown my hair long again! She does my cut and color (semi-permanent and skinny highlights). I can't recommend this salon enough!

WOW! I never knew my hair could look this good! I scheduled a hair appointment with AKB and I swear, I’ve never gotten so many compliments on my hair from random strangers- this is my new normal now lol The color, the cut-Just perfection! AKB even gave me a cut that makes my waves and curls look beautiful without styling. I can air dry my hair out and it still looks great. Go see AKB, I promise he’s life changing! I’m a customer for life, thank you AKB.

I feel so lucky to have found Savoy, she is a miracle worker for my hair! For the longest time, I've had long, fine hair that tends to have constant flyaways. Kelly is the only person I'll go to for extensions. I've done tape-ins and now hand-tied extensions for about two years now, and she consistently does a great job and is careful and adjusts everything based on my hair type. When my mom was visiting from out of town, she did a keratin treatment and cut with Kelly, and my mom literally said she would fly out to Austin to have Kelly do her hair again. And it doesn't hurt that Kelly is super nice, easy to talk to, and really accommodating!

My hair has never looked better. Blonde highlights and healthy length - two things I never thought could coexist. When I first came to Austin a couple years ago, I needed the best hair stylist in town. Kelly had countless five-star reviews. She didn’t let me down. I was after the natural long blonde hair look, and she made it happen. She’s meticulous in her cuts. You won’t have a single uneven strand. Kelly educated me in quality shampoo (don’t buy it at the drugstore) and the uniqueness of my hair (extensions would be harmful to my thin hair). Her coloring skills are perfection. Also, she does the best shampoo with a relaxing head massage. I’ve left her chair happy with my hair every time. Kelly has a great personality to accompany her 10/10 hair stylist experience. Everyone thinks I’m a natural blonde. At this point, I might even think I’m a natural blonde. Kelly is a true hair artist who loves what she does, and she’s so talented. You won’t regret choosing her.
