Let me start off by saying I searched high and low for someone who could cut and appreciate my thick curly long hair. I’ve been butchered one too many times and definitely have haircut fright. I was searching online from Mexico (where I live) and came across Shawn’s instagram. I just had a feeling this was my guy. I flew in for an appt and it was love at first snip! This man has the Midas touch. Everything he touches turns to gold! His skills are unbelievable! I felt like a movie star when I left. The cut, the blowout, the treatment, his energy, the salon vibes….I found my dream at last. Thank you Shawn! I love you!

Cared for by a team! I was feeling uncomfortable in my own hair after taking my light brown hair to a light bleach blonde. I showed up at Salon Vela with a picture and a dream to be back to my 'normal' self, and they delivered. Maria totally nailed it, and I loved the team energy there. Ron was there to consult with Maria on a plan, and Simon managed to work me in last minute. As it happens, I had seen both Ron and Angela in prior years, but after moves on everyone's part it became geographically difficult so I had moved salons. I'm happy to have found them again (thanks, Google!) at Salon Vela, and will definitely be coming back! I have every confidence they'll be taking good care of me.

I just got the most haircut from Jessica and she took just a couple of details on what I wanted for my haircut and gave me maybe the best cut of my life! She was very patient and willing to talk through everything I wanted and to clarify my styling habits and everything. Super professional and just an all around great stylist! The salon is also quite lovely and they provide a complementary drink as well. All new hair stylists undergo an extra year of training at the salon and seem really well-trained.

Courtney did a great job with my hair! I came in wanting a short haircut but I was a bit indecisive on just how short and she was able to work with me and I left with a really cute cut! Courtney was very patient and sweet and I’m very happy with my hair and the overall experience!

I am in love with my haircut!! Mallory was incredible, she is such a sweet girl and loves what she does. I felt so comfortable and had a great time chatting with her. Will definitely be coming here moving forward! Everyone else in the salon was so friendly too, over all such a great experience !

I came across Shawn’s IG account. I liked the fact that he seems to work on a range of hair textures and styles. My experience with him was fantastic. He is very kind and respectful. He listened to what I wanted, made his recommendations. I have thick curly hair and he gave me beautiful face framing layers and curtain bangs. Blowout was amazing and has lasted days without any frizz. I will definitely go back. The salon was clean and maintained well. Everyone was very friendly! 10/10 experience!
