I just had my first cut by Michael and it was a great experience. He listened to me and made a few suggestions. His ideas were great. Best cut in years. I will definitely be coming back for my cuts in the future. Everyone was professional and completely comfortable. I highly recommend Michael and Salon Vivace.

Very expensive. I had my hair shaped not a cut (MIKE TOLD ME) IT WAS 75.00. I get the same cut for 25.00, looking for a new look I tried this place. Pretty disappointed.

Ashley Jarnigan has done my hair for years. I have referred several people to her as well and they have all been very pleased! I went from longer hair to pixie short and and growing it out again. she can do it all!

Ashley has been doing my hair for many years. I've never had anyone to make it look effortless to cut my hair because I have a lot of hair & make it look fabulous. She understands what I want and takes the time to achieve the look & her color expertise is unmatched. I was so thankful to find her through a friend recommendation.

Ashley is the best there is. Especially if you’re looking for someone who is good with blondes and color!!! She makes you feel comfortable and listens to what you are looking for and gives helpful suggestions. I’ve gone to her for 10+ years and I haven’t lived in Charlotte for most of them. Always worth traveling back to see her! She will take great care of you :)

Came here on Friday to get my eyebrows done the week before my wedding. The wax wasn’t hot enough and instead of waiting for it to heat up, the aesthetician just kept putting lukewarm wax on the same spot over and over again to try and get all the hair. After the service was completed, I waited 10 minutes to check out because the front desk staff was nowhere to be found. I tried calling the front desk to see if they would appear to answer the call and they never did. Since they were making me late to another appointment, I had to interrupt a hairstylist and ask them to locate their front desk staff. At the end of the day, I paid $28 to have to go home and redo my eyebrows and got a break out on my skin (again, week of my wedding) from whatever product the aesthetician slathered on without asking.

I have been a client of Ashley J's for over 20 years. She relocated to Salon Vivace a few years ago, and I have loved it. The staff is helpful, friendly, and works hard to suit my schedule. Ashley consistently gives me a fabulous cut and color, that I often receive compliments on. Ashley is someone you can trust with long or short, strait or curly hair...she has done it all, and has had years of experience. She takes great pride in her work as it is a reflection of her and her professional ability.

I've been to this salon twice now and both times for drastic hair cuts. I was satisfied both times and have absolutely nothing to complain about except one thing...their prices! The prices that they have listed on their website are not accurate! I have no issue paying for the service that I'm getting but please update your prices!! The most recent time I went, I had gotten a 1/4 head highlight with shampoo, haircut & finish, and I had calculated how much cash to bring beforehand because I didn't want to pay with my card. My total should have approx. came out to $130-150 based on their prices online, and in reality, came out to $250. I mean, I have gotten a full head balayage for $250 in other bigger cities! It was so unacceptable. I was frazzled in the moment, and did not have the energy to argue back and paid the 250, but this was the last time I planned to go to this Salon. It was already out of the way for me (I live in uptown), but that was the last straw. Other than the prices, it's a great salon and my stylist was great. If you don't care about the prices, then I highly recommend!

It’s been years since I stepped into a physical hair salon. I’m quite hesitant with letting just anyone cut my hair, but after reading reviews I gave Salon Vivace a try. I’m glad I got to meet Michael because he did an amazing job! He’s very patient and listens to your needs and he takes his time trimming and making sure everything comes out symmetrically. He’s Super professional and sweet. Will definitely be coming back. :)

Michael Proal just transformed my hair into exactly what I wanted… without having the words to describe what I wanted, I showed him a picture of Kim K post 1st baby balayage and he actually made it happen to my own head!!! He’s beyond talented and professional, I’m already planning my next trip from out of state to come back in a few months to see him…

This is a fantastic salon! Everyone is so nice and friendly. My hairstylist, Ashley Jarnigan, has been cutting my hair for almost 7 years and she is the best hairstylist I’ve ever worked with. She does an amazing job with my color and cut. I always look forward to our appointments.

I had to find a new hair stylist and was rather anxious to trust someone new with my hair. Fortunately for me, I found Michael! In my very first appointment, he translated my rambling ideas into the exact multi-toned red I had been envisioning. He even cut my stacked Bob so well that my blow dry time has been reduced by a few minutes since everything just seems to fall into place. I would highly recommend him!!

Michael did an amazing job with my hair. I was a first time client and I left feeling like a million bucks. He definitely listened to what I wanted, and he did an amazing job with the color. He was also really helpful with how to style my hair and took the time to answer all my questions. I left the salon and went shopping at SouthPark; one of the salespeople told me how great my hair was and that it looked New York chic! Without a doubt, I will be returning to Salon Vivace and Michael.

Sometimes I get worried because I have Asian hair and I’ve had a few salons botch it...This salon is also taking extensive COVID-19 measures for sanitation and took training to show for it, if you’re concerned! I will be a returning client.

Our entire family goes to Evelyn Justice, all adults. My son is very particular about how his hair is cut/styled. Took my husband years to go to Evelyn, he wanted his $10 military cut, he now has a George Clooney doo and so handsome, thank you Evelyn!! My daughter and I love Evelyn. We have different hair texture but Evelyn works with all types of hair. Due to Evelyn I get compliments on my hair weekly, I have been going to her for over 12 years. She listens to what you are looking for and delivers! Sitting in her chair for several hours (cut and color) goes quickly with her personality! The entire staff at Salon Vivace is great! It is a very relaxing salon.

Don’t think twice about going to see Michael Proal at Vivace. This is the best my hair has looked in years! I have long blonde bayalage that’s not thin or thick, straight or curly - so it’s a bit tricky to work with. Michael doesn’t hesitate. He knows cuts and colors and focuses on only women’s hair. If you’re looking for someone you can feel confident in - go see Michael!!

First time at the salon and I’ll be a return customer. The team at Salon Vivace was extremely accommodating to my schedule. My stylist was Michael and he was phenomenal. I explained the vision of what I hoped my highlights would look like and he was able to take care of the rest. He is experienced, talented and has a special eye for blending color. He is an artist. I would recommend Michael for highlights, lowlights and general hair care/repair. Also, this salon is full service so I can’t wait to go back and get a facial.

Michael is a wizard. My haircut is the best I’ve ever had. He actually gave me the haircut I described (which, sadly, can be a rarity in other salons.) He made sure I was happy about the cut before he styled it with a beautiful blowout. I’ve been getting compliments from everyone. He even read in between the lines and addressed some hair concerns I only vaguely hinted at while we were talking. It was a great experience.
