I booked Natasha for a silk press and got the best silk press I’ve ever had! I have natural, thick, coily hair and have not gotten a silk press in years. I was worried that I wouldn’t get the results I hoped for because of past experiences, but I left beyond pleased. Natasha also educated me on how to better maintain my hair in the future. Overall, the staff was so kind and professional. My only regret is not finding this salon sooner!

I'm very particular about who touches my hair. In my online search, Salon X Change was on the top of the list, and I can say that the reviews don't lie! All of the staff that I met were really warm, welcoming, and attentive to their clients. They are currently at a temporary location due to a fire back in June, but to see how happy they are still serving clients out of their normal element was refreshing. Every client that left those doors had a smile on their face. Jasmine took great care of my hair, and I can't wait to see her and the staff at their renovated location at the Domain. From beautiful, long lasting knotless braids that turned heads on a recent trip to the finest silk press that withstands yoga, to my fun and and versatile 2-strand wist; Jasmine brings her A-game to each styling appointment. To my extreme delight she comes to each appointment ON TIME for my scheduled appointment, with fun convo and the most vibrant personality. Knowing how busy this salon gets and specially at the end of the year, I booked over the phone in November for an appointment in December. The booking was a very simple and easy process. When I got to the salon I was welcomed by Luis who would also be the professional doing my hair. I went there for washing & conditioning, cutting some ends and for a styling. I wanted to do a ponytail with my own hair and I also had the picture for the style I was looking for. Luis did an amazing job. His attention to details and educating how I could maintain the style afterwards was great. I got so many compliments on the hair and it was just perfect. As I’m writing this review, I’m almost 1 week after and it’s still holding very well.

Went in for a silk press, they do not disappoint!! If you’re looking to get your hair done I highly recommend getting it done with Jasmine. When I book with her, I either get a silk press or a braided style and every time I book with her, my hair comes out looking great.

I had an appointment for a silk press with Natascha and I was super satisfied with the service overall. My booking included a trim, hair wash, blow dry and the silk press. My hair turned out super silky and healthy. This has been my second time being there for a silk press.

On 10/17/24 I had my 1st visit with Tasha. She gave me a touch-up with the Affirm relaxer, a deep steam conditioner, and a MUCH needed trim!! I feel like a NEW Woman. My hair hasn't been this straightened, silky-soft, or blowing in the wind light, in at LEAST 15 years. Tasha also took 2 small strands of my hair to test, in order to see what highlight colors would look like on my dark-brown hair. I'm going back in a few weeks to then get the highlights! Tasha was professional, the salon is beautiful, and EVERY service you can think of was being done there for other patrons. Thanks again TASHA for everything! You're the BEST! M. Manley

A friend referred me was to Tasha and I've been going to the Salon now for three months. So far, my hair has improved significantly! It was overprocessed, damaged, and shedding a lot, and Tasha was able to get it back on track to being healthy. Tasha is very personable and everyone in the Salon is friendly, and the vibe is positive. They make scheduling a breeze and send appointment reminders, which is nice. Service is prompt and fairly priced. Will definitely recommend!

First timer here! Found the shop on Google and booked off of reviews. I appreciate that Shonda provides a service and also educates. This is truly appreciated when you are not the professional. Just proves that she cares about hair care and educating clients as well as going what she enjoys. We will be back! Oh and when you walk in very welcoming, I love to see people enjoying their career. The booking site is easy to use. Please note I hate online booking but it was not difficult at all.

Horrible experience. Went in for a trim and wash & Go with Geo and she butchered my hair. Uneven trim which turned into a cut and hair was left looking horrible and hair worse than when I came in. She then tried to blame my hair type and “dryness” on her lack of skill. She recommended a protein treatment which anyone who knows anything about hair knows you don’t put a protein treatment on “overly dry” hair.

I'm still loving my silk press done by Jasmine. My hair feels very healthy after a much-needed trim. My natural hair is well conditioned and shiny after the treatment. She also provided tips on maintenance in this central TX climate.

I've been coming to this salon for about 2 years now and let me just say ... THIS IS THE SPOT! Louie is OUTSTANDING and his work is truly inspiring. I've gotten twists, braids, cornrows, coils, and they've all been phenomenal! The vibe of the salon is inclusive with great music for all, top-tier customer service by the stylists and receptionists, and even light refreshments. Tasha, the owner, runs an amazing business and every guy or girl should come here! I've seen the versatility in the entire building, so even if you think they can't do a style, trust me they can and will even WOW YOU!

Since I moved to Austin in 2019, I've gotten my hair colored, braided, faux locs, and wash with styling! This salon, its staff are very professional and curious. I NEVER have any issues, I recommend this salon to all my friends, family, and associates all the time! This is the best salon in Texas 10/10. I recommend!

Jasmine was amazing and gave me one of the best and straightest blow dries I’ve gotten in years. The whole wash, blow dry process really took me back to childhood so relaxing and the best part was how affordable the prices were. Edit: just wanted to come back and say that my second experience here was awful. Jasmine was late with no message or explanation (that was fine, things happen sometimes she finally arrived then apologized) but then she had me under the hood for a hydration treatment while she did a whole other persons head. I finally got back in the chair for my blow-dry and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had. I had told her that I just took out a braid style that had been in my head for a few months so I would expect she would treat my scalp kindly. She was tugging and pulling and I’m pretty sure she pulled some of my hair out on the comb while working. I was basically in tears by the end of it. Not sure how the experience could’ve been so different by the same person, I expected my hair to be treated nd cared for and I left there in so much pain, I’m never coming back here again.

Salon X is such an incredible salon! Everyone that works there is always kind and super talented. Also, my go-to hairstylist is Jas. She has completely transformed my hair and leaves me loving each hairstyle she does on me. Cannot recommend her enough 😊

I recently visited Shante for a hair cut, ombré color, and silk press. She is very welcoming and we worked together to find my ideal shade. I’m impressed with the results as I have naturally curly hair, but the color looks great whether my hair is curly or straight. I brought my daughter back for her first silk press and trim and Luis did great with her curly hair. The salon is aesthetically pleasing and it has a friendly environment. I highly recommend!

I scheduled a Silk Press and Extension consultation at Salon X Change on a whim - I'm part of a wedding party overseas that's coming up quickly and my two usual stylists didn't have availability within that time. I found Salon X Change when I was looking for a place that does sew-ins in Austin. I went ahead and booked and hoped for the best. Before my appointment, I got a text that the salon was being temporarily relocated due to a fire. This was my first time at the salon so I can't speak on the original location, but I followed the instructions in the text to head to the temp spot. Firstly, I want to commend the whole team on having to relocate, move tools that were available, and adapt to an entirely new environment. The new spot was very clearly an emergency find, it's not fancy, there were wi-fi problems, stylists were borrowing tools and cutting hair where the client is sitting in a regular chair instead of one that lifts. I cannot imagine how absolutely hectic this all is. Despite this, the service I received was excellent. I have never in my life received a silk press so straight. Shonda was incredible, she was working between me and another client and even with all the chaos happening she was friendly and easy to work with. I felt so comfortable in the salon and felt my appointment was really quick. Usually when I go to the salon, I expect to spend all day in the chair. I believe I was in and out within 3 hours! It's hard to put into words, but considering the obstacle of having their salon burn down - including products and tools, I was really impressed by the team and quality of care I received here. I am so sure that once everything has settled, that this place will be even better. I will always consider Salon X Change when looking to get my hair done in the future.

Love love love this salon!!! It has a modern feel to it and you can tell all the stylist and the owner treat it like a family business. They know most if not all clients by name and that’s rare to see and definitely always puts a smile on my face. When I say I am a Mexican/turkish girl and I have some long thick hair that is hard for a lot of stylist to manage and tame I mean it. But hands down since the first time I walked into salon x change Shonda is my girl and I will always go to her. She is down to earth, attentive, kind and is a pro at what she does. She never fails to make me feel beautiful and give me exactly what I want when I walk out. I would recommend getting a silk press from her mine came out so beautiful and I’ve been getting so many compliments. My hair has never been so long and healthy before. 10/10 come here this will be my forever salon while living in Austin(:

My stylist is the best! First, she listens to me and helps me maintain a style that’s within my ability to maintain (I have no ability). She’s funny and friendly and I really enjoy that atmosphere at Salon X Change. I’m very picky when it comes to the person handling my head, when I find someone good I become a lifelong customer. Being new to this area, I’m blessed to have Ms. Shantae (sp?) and I am her customer!
