Easy for me to get to. Love my haircuts, shampoos and conditioning. Diamond is great, other workers greet me and know my name. That is a special touch. Shadaza gives soothing hair massage, too. ❤️

I had a terrible experience at this salon. I gave clear instructions on what I wanted, and they still completely messed it up. It’s clear they have no idea how to cut men’s hair properly. The haircut was uneven, poorly done, and nothing like what I expected. On top of that, the staff didn’t seem very knowledgeable or confident in their work. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be coming back. Definitely not recommended.

I had my hair done by Uzma, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. She perfectly executed exactly what I envisioned, paying attention to every detail with care and precision. Her confidence and expertise made the process seamless, and the final result exceeded my expectations. I had an excellent experience. Came in for a no ammonia color, with Laura. Excellent service and attentiion to detail. Like putting vaseline around the hairline so that no product dyes the skin. Efficient, pleasant, happy with the result.

I went to the salon today and got my hair cut by Tayo and she was amazing!!! I showed her what I wanted and she did exactly what I wanted but honestly… maybe even better!! I got a soothing wash on my hair and she told me exactly what she was doing with my hair and made sure to address the existing issues I had with my hair. I walked out loving my hair and this salon!

Diamond has done an amazing job with my naturally curly hair! Once in her chair, she always does a quick diagnosis of my hair health and suggests a plan of action to go along with my style and social calendar! She’s wonderful to work with, a great listener, and gently suggests areas for improvement! My hair has come a long way with her careful eye, thoughtful product choices and color expertise. Diamond is so relatable and is one of the most welcoming stylists I’ve ever worked with! I look forward to every appointment because I know I’ll leave the salon better than when I walked in! The salon atmosphere is always light and everyone checks in with me and knows my name! It’s one of the most cheerful, energetic teams I’ve seen in a salon! I just want to start off by saying that my silk press looks great. However the process getting to this result was anything but pampering/soothing for me. From the washing bowl to the actual blowout process, it was clear that the folks handling my hair didn’t have the proper tools or techniques to do kinky 4c textured haired. The biggest indicator of this was that my hair was still dirty after being shampooed 3-4 times. Additionally a round brush was taken directly to my hair without first being detangled with a paddle brush/wide tooth comb. The hair at my nape and parts of my roots are still in their natural state. I understand that most of the clients that this salon sees have looser hair textures. But it is still important to have the knowledge and tools required to service clients with my hair texture. It should be a salon for ALL people, not just white folks. If I can get my hair squeaky clean and blown out straight without pain at home, I would expect TWO professional stylists to do an even better job. There also was just zero educating on the quality/state of my hair or what products I should be using. I just felt as if the only goal was to get me out of the door quickly instead of nurturing my hair. Though Diamond and Maria gave me a decent overall result, this experience has honestly deterred me from getting silk presses ever again in the future. I would rather invest the money and time into giving myself silk presses that are done gently, patiently, and with some level of expertise at home. This was just not an experience/result worth $220. This salon needs to do a better job at being inclusive of all hair textures.

This is my second time coming to Diamond for a blowout, trim, and curls, and I will never go to another stylist for as long as I live in NYC. I have very thick natural hair that ranges in texture from 4a-4c, I have a sensitive scalp, and I typically wear a twist out on a daily basis. However, I have to get my hair blown out to get a good trim. Since moving here in 2017, I have struggled to find a stylist that I truly love and have hopped around for a few reasons: the style itself wasn’t great, my hair sustained heat damage, it was too difficult to get an appointment, and/or the price was crazy expensive. I found Diamond through reviews and could not be happier. She takes the time to listen to your concerns, gives recommendations on how to better care for your hair, and produces a beautiful style. Weeks after my appointment, my hair is still soft and there is minimal breakage. She is also very knowledgeable about the science behind hair care, and she invests in her team to ensure that they’re learning as well. I would highly recommend Diamond to anyone, especially those with natural hair. She does not disappoint.

After years of vibrant hair colors, I wanted to return to a more natural look. I showed Laura pictures of my natural hair color as a teen, along with what shades I wanted to achieve. We sat and down and discussed my ideas with Laura having great feedback and suggestions. I trusted her like an old friend. My hair is constantly complemented by friends and strangers thinking the color is natural and my cut is always new. Both color and cut grow out beautifully.

Brought our two year old for a cut and Lara charged us $79 for 15 minutes and an unfinished job. She told us haircuts are normally $149 and she’s doing us a favor by charging half, but on the site cuts are listed at different rates for up to $100. Taking advantage of young families this way is absolutely shameful. The neighborhood should be aware and avoid these grifters at all costs.

Diamond never disappoints! She's friendly and knows how to take care of your hair. I came to her with dark hair almost 2 years ago. And I'm the type that gets anxious and immediately goes to the box dye when i start to see my roots come in. But I will hold off from doing that because i know Diamond will take care of my roots and make my color look great. I always leave happy with how my hair looks.

I had my first appointment with Uzma today, and I couldn't be more impressed! I showed her a haircut I found on Pinterest, and she executed it flawlessly. Not only did she bring the vision to life, but she also added her own expert touch that made it look even better than the photo. Throughout the appointment, she was incredibly careful, constantly checking in with me to make sure the length was perfect and I was happy with every step. I felt truly listened to and cared for. I’m so glad I found her and will definitely be returning! Highly recommend!

I’m obsessed with my haircut and Jackie! I’ve booked with her three times now and she clearly knows what she’s doing. She is very skilled and I absolutely love coming into the salon with bold visions and always having her nonjudgmental encouragement from the start. I’ve had nothing but good experiences with her and the salon. Everyone is always so inviting and accommodating. I’ve recommended my roommates and friends to get their hair done here as well! I wasn't able to use a prepaid visa gift card to put towards my cut unfortunately (not a salon gift card) but it did not hinder my experience whatsoever. I can’t wait to return! I’m so glad I found Diamond at Salon 718. My hair has never been better. For a long time I was straightening my hair myself but after visiting Diamond, my hair is back to being healthy. It feels fuller and is growing better with the treatments and care she takes with my delicate hair. I’m very pleased!

Tayo was terrific! I was nervous about being oversold to or made to feel like I should prioritize my hair care more, but Tayo perfectly read my energy and she was delightful. She was excited by my plan to cut off 6 inches for a bob and now my hair feels so fresh and fun and silky. I especially loved that she embraced the fact that I'm going to put a bike helmet on my head every day and that I need something low maintenance. This was my first time to Salon 718 and I can't wait to return! Thank you Tayo!

I had a great experience visiting this salon. Diamond was so nice and so patient in listening and understanding my hair needs. Definitely recommend, especially if you're someone that just moved to NY. It's so overwhelming to look for hairstylist and salons.
