The owner is very kind. I had a few issues like I hit traffic and had to cancel. The owner was very kind and let me cancel last minute to go in next day. Then I show up and could not bring up my Groupon coupon and say I'll just pay since we are already there again the owner say no way am I going to pay again. I hand over my phones She fixes the problem and scans us in. We want to thank you for being so kind to us. The caves are so amazing it was wonderful.

Wow what a fabulous experience this was today! I took my daughter there for her birthday, we started in the meditation room and ended up with the absolute best massage ive ever had. David is a Jewel and has so much knowledge. With several joint issues I can be very skeptical who works on me. Let's just say I will be back soon. His hands are magical and such a nice guy. Their store is packed with goodies that we took home. The customer service we received was definitely extraordinary. Thank you so very much for a fabulous experience. Dawn Rudio

I had a combo Swedish and deep tissue massage with Courtney Z on Jan. 9, 2025. It was absolutely amazing~ she did an exceptional job of balancing both modalities. She addressed and treated many of the knots and aches I had which was super helpful. At the same time, I left feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and a bit lighter. I wish I lived in SB so I could visit the Salt caves and Courtney on a regular basis!! Definitely go and treat yourself~ you will be happy you did.

Ive been going here off and on 6 years. I have had many massages here, usually on my bday as my wife’s gift. The worst massage was probably 2.5-3 stars, but 2 of my best massages have been here at 5/5 stars. The very first time I came here was one of the best in 2017-2018, and today’s! I had Danny, deep tissue specialist and he was fantastic! Highly recommend him, reflex-ology and deep pressure was spot on! 90 mins and I just felt like months of hospital work melted away!!! Glass of h20 after always appreciated and a nice touch. So, it is really, I think it’s a matter of tastes and a combination of the practitioners’ skill level, skill set, and ultimately that mix with the person getting the relief. Also- perspective is high, and if you have a negative mindset or experience with reception, therapist, or people prior to setting foot- can spoil the gift of massage. Aside from the massage- i have perused their gift shop and while u wait, they put in the salt room- salt floor and hot/cold drinks while tou wait is a nice touch. I am a guy- but have purchased some lotions as gifts from here and they usually hit a warm reception, and they have a lot to choose from.

The meditative space is cool (bring a light sweater) the music therapy is ethereal. You can really taste the salt in the air - it takes a breath or two to get use to it. One of the best power naps I have had in years.

I cannot recommend Salt enough! I came to Santa Barbara from SF, hoping to escape the city for a weekend. This was my first stop, and it was the most relaxing and rejuvenating way to start my weekend! I did a cave session and had a massage, and I could feel my tension and stress melt away throughout my time there! I’ve had many massages, but nothing quite like the one I had here. Everyone was so friendly, especially the manager Gina. She also gave me great recommendations on some of their products! Everything about my visit was perfect, and I definitely recommend visiting, it was like the feeling of a week long resort getaway packed into a few hours!

I love the the meditation salt cave sessions. When I'm in Santa Barbara, I always try to stop by for a session. It is very relaxing.

I visited while traveling thru the area on vacation. I had a great massage from Rehanna followed by a meditation session in the salt cave. It was nice to find a discount with service offered on the many spa products. If you, like me, are prone to feeling chilly when not moving around, suggest taking a throw or jacket with you when using the salt room.

Salt Cave is very relaxing, enjoying comfort and music however, the chairs are extremely noisy, squeaky, annoying and when it’s full, many people come and go disturbing the relaxation of the whole experience to add to it you can hear people stomping around on the ceiling ,that was very disappointing. Super Sad

I have done a few cave meditation sessions and received a couple of massages from here, and I always have such a lovely time! The meditation sessions are so relaxing, it’s so nice to have some time to do some self guided yoga on the salt floors or just listen to the calming music and focus on my breathing. My massages here are always superb, and any time I look for massages anywhere else I compare them to the outstanding ones I received at Salt. I always feel so taken care of here. Ghina, the manager, is very kind and warm and welcoming, and she recommended so many lovely natural products for me to use as well. The customer service and staff is great and I love the array of products I can get here- they make such good gifts and are so great for self care. Any time I’m in Santa Barbara I always make sure to stop in. :) definitely recommend for any tourists

I recently visited Salt Cave SB and had a fantastic experience! The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making me feel welcomed and pampered from the moment I arrived. Their professionalism and genuine care were evident throughout my visit. The atmosphere was relaxing and serene, which made my time there even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this spa for anyone looking to unwind and be treated like royalty. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Went to use my Groupons on a Saturday and the front desk person was dismissive and rude. Said we could only redeem on a Monday - Friday, and after scouring my Groupon(s), as well as the confirmation, it is nowhere to be found in the fine print. Groupon agreed. I don't live in Santa Barbara, and every time I visit, I drop in to purchase candles. I cancelled my two purchased Groupons, and will not be coming back. Also, turning away customers from an empty store is not a great business practice; and seeing the other reviews and also many of the defensive responses, my experience was true to form. Do better. The response from Salt Cave for the above review is untrue. They have the wrong person. Must have challenges with customers so regularly they cannot remember who is who. My experience (for context): I went in with my daughter (as a walk in), not a dog, to use two Groupons, and they dismissed me and told me that I could use a Groupon Monday through Friday, not on a Saturday. The young man was short and rude to us, and the woman didn’t look up from her paperwork. Icy behavior. I said that it was a bummer, because I don’t live in Santa Barbara, I would cash in the Groupon, and we left. There was no yelling, no aggression whatsoever, just annoyance.

You responded to my first review with a completely untrue story. I did not bring in a dog, nor did I have an appointment that I was late for. I would never tell a person to shut up. You are either lying or have the wrong person.

An interesting experience in the downtown area. Salt does salt cave treatments of Himalayan salt while also offering scrubs, sprays, lamps small and large, as well as healing stones. They do have a salt cave meditation for $28.

Loud soft music, if you want the peace and quiet of a cave this is not it!

My husband and I scheduled a massage for the day after sea kayaking. The massage and the atmosphere of the salt cave were both relaxing and restorative. Thank you!

Loved this! I did the meditation but to be honest I thought someone would be leading a meditation. It was music played in the salt cave. It was definitely relaxing and a nice way to spend 45 minutes though. They have chairs that recline but you can also lay directly in the salt. I do think $28 is a lot for sitting in the caves but we purchased a Groupon and it was much more reasonable. They’ve got a cute store too with everything under the sun with Himalayan salt. I got a peppermint chapstick and I’m obsessed with it already.

The mall would give you a better massage, don’t waste your money. I hate complaining, I worked years in the service industry; but I’m not even sure if this person was a trained masseuse. When I mentioned it to the front desk, I was barely given a nod of acknowledgment. 2 stars because the facial was very nice.

This is a unique and affordable stop for an hour on a trip to Santa Barbara. You can enjoy a 45 minute session in a well designed salt cave to detox. The cave is tranquil and relaxing with meditation sounds and music. They do require reservations. This experience was very affordable. They also have a soundbath experience that is a bit more and on the higher end they offer massage. I found their shop filled with affordable items to buy. I went home with a bag filled for about 100.00. And I got about 20 different items! I highly recommend a stop in.

At $28 per person, the 45-minute sound healing session in the salt cave is very underwhelming. I should have saved the money and bought salt for my bathtub at home, put on a BETTER meditation track, and relaxed with true aromatherapy. The salt cave looks neat-ish, but after about 10 minutes the salt air cuts off and you realize you just paid alot of money ( there was 4 ofnus, so around $120) to sit on a lawn chair, in a dark room, with an average meditation track you can pull off of youtube for free. It's kind of a joke, and the only reason I like the experience is because I can laugh about how shallow and off the mark the whole experience was with the people I experienced the sound healing salt cave with. That said, some of the salt-based products they sell up front seem quality, but again, I can get better elsewhere for a fraction of the cost.

So I booked an appointment for the salt mediation room. I was told to come at 2pm and there was plenty of space for the session. I drove three hours to experience the salt mediation. When we got there the front desk girl told us that it has already started and we could not do the session, she said you have to come 15 mins early. I explained no one told us this and we were there at 2:00 exactly on time , but wasn’t told to come that early. I asked can we go in because we were on time for the session. Im sure we could have walked in quietly and started the meditation. said we could come back at another time. She did not try to accommodate us instead she had an attitude and kept saying it started at 2. I was so upset because we were not told to come that early and we got there at exactly 2pm as told. Anyways won’t be going back there. They should make sure they let people know to come that early or you won’t get in.

Unfortunately not worth the time or the price. It’s mostly just a marketing scheme. Fiancé booked a couples salt room massage for step-daughter. We didn’t receive that. To add insult to injury, the front desk staff were rude. Masseuses were great, but the customer service and lack of receiving actual service ruined the experience.

I really enjoyed the salt experience, salt cave and meditation experience. Traveling can be very stressful and this was a much needed relief between stays and exploring the city as a newcomer, I was referred to this place by a friend and I will definitely refer this place to anyone traveling through Santa Barbara.

What a wonderful experience! The staff was super nice and I enjoyed resting and having a cup of tea in the salt waiting room before my OxyGeneo Facial. Mariana was fantastic! She does massage too. The music was relaxing and I felt like butter afterwards. When checking out there was a hiccup about the charge, the manager was more than gracious and honored the price. You bet I will be coming back. Great place, don't miss out!

I enjoyed my experience here. I had the 45 minute meditation and it felt really good. They play frequency music and you lay or sit in anti gravity chairs. I felt a difference after and I would go again. The staff was also very helpful.

Employees have a lack of work ethic showed up at 5:50 hoping to purchase a gift card only to find they had closed early.

Had a 90 minute massage with Christian and felt blissfully relaxed when I waled out of the cave. The warm lighting and salt crystal environment really enhance the overall experience.

I know its seems wierd to pay to sit in a room filled with salt rocks and chill to vibrational music, but it was a very relaxing experience. We used a Groupon to get a deal. I felt good afterwards.

If you're looking to take a quick 45 power nap after walking around SB all day, come to the cave. Just make sure you lock your chair in place. Staff was friendly.

Me and my friend (Mexican MINORS.)went to look around today and this one white lady (maybe the owner) would not take her eyes off of us the whole time we were there. When we were walking to the bathroom she asked us if they could help us with anything and we replied back saying we were just gonna use the restroom. She said that the bathroom was only for staff and not meant for public use, when other people CLEARLY use it. We have used their bathroom before, + many other strangers. To be clear we’re mexican. If we were WHITE GIRLS she probably wouldn’t have said anything. This racism needs to stop, We’re just minors. What can we possibly do to harm them. 10/05/23.

What a special surprise my friend gave me for my birthday…..a day in Santa Barbara with a meditation session at the Salt Cave! The salt cave is a very cool looking place for sure. You take stairs down into a basement”cave” where there is a gift shop with all things salt, massage rooms, spa rooms and a large room where meditations and other activities like yoga take place. We had an appointment for a meditation session on a Friday afternoon in October. I really didn’t know what to expect but I was excited to be there. We were asked to take off our shoes and the front desk lady escorted us into the large room where there were gravity free chairs for us to sit on. The ground was Himalayan salt/sand and the walls and ceilings were lined in Himalayan salt rocks. The lights were dimmed and it felt very peaceful in there. The lady told us she was waiting a few more minutes to see if anyone else would show up for the meditation and we were welcome to sit and get comfortable. After about 5 minutes she came back in to tell us we were the only ones for this session and she was going to start. She then walked out of the room. I was expecting that she was going to be the one to guide us into a meditation. I guess I was wrong. Lights dimmed a bit more and an introduction came across the speakers telling us about salt and the benefits, etc. After peaceful music started. I thought at this point a recording of someone guiding us in the mediation would start. Again, I was wrong. The “meditation” was simply a recording of relaxing music. OK….a little disappointed at this point but hey, it’s relaxing and I am detoxing with the salt air and salt all around me. I started my self-talk meditation and started to get more relaxed and then…BANG! BANG! People above us were banging things and what sounded like moving furniture. Our relaxing, peaceful time did not last long at all. It was so very disappointing. We stayed in the room, breathing in the air and experiencing the salt around us but that’s all it was. When our session was done my friend told the front desk about the loud noise and their response was something to the effect that they knew they were moving upstairs and was hoping it wouldn’t be loud. They didn’t offer to bring us back another time to experience a peaceful time there without any banging (after the moving upstairs ended) I am not sure how much my friend paid for this gift. It was supposed to be a very special birthday gift to me (and her) because we are in very stressful jobs. Unfortunately this gift didn’t live up to her very sweet intentions. I do not like writing reviews like this but I feel like people need to know about this and they should proceed at their own discretion. On a positive note, I did take some cute pics of the place.
