One of the best hair salons around! I’ve been getting my hair done by Sam for the past few years, and his work is always a masterpiece. I get so many compliments after each haircut. He has an amazing eye for detail and really knows how to bring out the best look for me. Highly recommend Sam for anyone looking for quality and style!

Great salon! I have been going there for years for color and cut and they have been amazing managing the changes in my very long, aging (ahem) hair. I trust their organic products...they do the job but are gentle on my hair. Sam, his wife Anne and the rest of the team provide a relaxing, welcoming environment that is upscale but not pretentious. I have moved to another state and drive back to Frederick every five weeks to have my hair done at Sam Wong Salon. There is no replacing them!

Sam is a master; a flat out artist with hair. The haircuts he’s given me are the best I’ve ever had. He gave me a haircut this week and I felt so good after! Best conversation ever, too! 😃

What a wonderful day I had yesterday! I had an appointment with Sam Wong at Sam Wong Salon in Frederick, MD. My first impression -- WOW! Walking into the salon automatically lowered my blood pressure. The salon is beautiful and calming, with soft colors all around. And my favorite beauty shop perk? Cleanliness! The place looked like it was ready for a magazine shoot. Very impressive. I was greeted by Sam Wong himself, who made me feel very comfortable. Sam showed me to his chair and we talked about what I wanted to have done. I told him I was conflicted -- my grey hair is growing out and I have some color left on the ends. Should I let my greys take over or should I color my hair? Sam suggested that I cut my hair a little bit shorter this time to get rid of most of the old color on the ends. He said that it would take one or two more haircuts to get it all to my natural grey. The hard part, he said, is getting through the growing out period. He asked if I had any pictures to show him and I told him I have several pictures of my dream haircut; unfortunately, they are sitting on my kitchen counter at home. No problem, he said, and he brought out an iPad where we looked at many pictures of different haircuts. We found the best one for me and Sam made it happen! I feel wonderful with my new 'do! Also, I'd like to give a big shout-out to Anne, who did a wonderful job shampooing my hair and giving me a relaxing head massage. What a treat! Anne and I talked and talked and I feel like we've been friends forever. Okay, people, here's the deal: You want someone who knows hair and how to cut it correctly? Sam is your man. And Anne is the cherry on top!

Let me start by saying I have unique hair-curly with an oily scalp and not your typical curl pattern. I was pretty nervous about going to a new stylist after my previous stylist left the industry after doing my hair 5 years. Sara was absolutely incredible with my hair and I cannot stop singing her praises to everyone who will listen to me! She was intuitive about my weird hair and took the time to understand what I wanted out of my haircut. She's also really fun to chat with and has a great sense of humor. The salon itself is so nice-nicely decorated and comfortable. Covid precautions were in place and the salon was clean and stylists were appropriately spaced out.

HOPE is amazing! She did a great cut and color and was very patient with helping me decide as I was nervous to go shorter then I usually would. She fixed my color and styled my hair and then recommended products so I can duplicate the full look since my hair is very thin. I am so pleased and will continue to go back to her.

I LOVE this salon. I recently had my first visit. I saw Hope who reached out to me prior to my appointment and was super open to helping me achieve my hair goals! She was absolutely wonderful and I could not be happier with the result— I got exactly what asked for. She made the experience really comfortable and easy. She’s a real sweetheart and definitely a balayage expert! The salon itself is bright, welcoming, and clean; the atmosphere is lovely. I cannot recommend this salon (and Hope!) enough. I intend to be a lifelong customer here!

I recently had a wonderful experience with Hope at Sam Wong Salon! I arrived early but she let me in as soon as she arrived and we got started right away. I was very impressed with how safe their procedures were (requiring temp check and sanitizer when you walk in) and Hope was very friendly! It definitely helped to ease my concerns seeing how serious they are about keeping their customers and staff safe. The place is also just gorgeous on the inside, very clean, and well kept. Their products are fully natural and they smell amazing, which is another plus of going. It is well worth the price. I got a balayage and Hope worked with me to figure out exactly what I was looking for and did a fantastic job. I love how it turned out so much!! I just wish my hair had lightened a little bit more ;). I highly recommend anyone who is looking to get some highlights or some coloring in their hair!

Sam is amazing! My daughter and I have totally different hair types - straight and thin versus thick and curly. We both love our cuts! Sam took his time and is a true artist.

So, this is a first time in over 20 years, that I can honestly say that I love my new haircut. Sarah was amazing. She sat with me and discussed my hair type and options for cutting. Since my hair is very naturally curly and coarse dry like texture, not as easy of a task as you may think. I can't wait to go back in 6 weeks to see what she can do with my color. I have about given up on my color but have the utmost confidence that it will be more than "OK I just have to deal with it" after the appointment. Don't hesitate to visit this small but lovely salon. Such a wonderful & peaceful place. I love the atmosphere. It is so refreshing & relaxing there. My wonderful stylist is Suzi. She's very experienced- went to a great Paul Mitchell cosmetology school & is always going to NYC or LA for continuing education. She knows how to cut & color in all the latest styles. I can trust her to do what's right for me. They use all natural products at SW salon which not only is safe for my hair but great for the environment as well. Treat yourself...you'll be happy you did.

I love this place. Suzi is incredible. I have gotten so many compliments on my hair which is amazing but the best part is how you feel leaving the salon. Great people from start to finish and great atmosphere.

I've never left a salon review before, because, well I hadn't found a place like this. Peaceful, calm, welcoming, tranquil, not enough words for this place! A lot of salons make me pretty anxious but I felt really comfortable here. And most importantly my haircut turned out amazing!

Krista did such an incredible job fixing a butcher chop I got. I absolutely LOVE what she did. The atmosphere and vibe of the salon is perfect. Very relaxing and soothing. The hair washi is a spa quality massage and their products all smell divine. 10/10 I found my new stylist.

Went for the first time and had the best experience I’ve ever had in a hair salon! Stacey took her time sharing all her knowledge on my specific hair type (care, how to best cut, how to best style for my desired results). The environment is so relaxing and the stylists really want to make your hair journey dreams come true! I’ve definitely found my go to salon!!
